Business Research Methods

Part 1

For the case study of Uber, we will develop quantitative research where the study is about the effect that a specific burden has on ridership. Different challenges tend to be encountered by the riders that hinder them from operating effectively during their working hours.

The burden I have selected for the case study is; Discernment in the workplace.

Research Questions

After the riders have encountered any discrimination, does it matter in their workplace?

Does any discernment cause any changes in the brand of the fairness of Uber in the workplace?

If there are changes in the brand of fairness, does it affect ridership behavior positively or negatively?

If there are changes in ridership performance or behavior, do they switch to another brand?

Hypotheses

From each of the research questions above, a different hypothesis has to be considered.

Hypothesis 1: Any kind of discernment in the working place affects the riders.

Hypothesis 2: Discernment of riders in their working place will cause a decline in brand equity of Uber.

Hypothesis 3: Due to discrimination at work, ridership behavior, and performance changes.

Hypothesis 4: Any discernment for the ridership will lead to a brand switch.

Variables

Dependent variables: Brand switch, Brand equity, Brand loyalty, and the Net promoter notch for the brand.

Independent variables: There are different variables like; the total number of reports in mass media on discernment at the workplace, Gender discrimination reports at the workplace, discernment of sexual orientation, race discernment, and defendant’s demographics such as; education, gender, age, ethnicity, etc.

Part 2

Research design

The research design involves the method of collecting data in a sample data collection. From the case study of China Health and Nutritional Studies, the type of research design used is the descriptive research design. The issue that may affect the functioning of the health facility in China is addressed. The stakeholders are made aware of the problems that have to be solved to ensure that good health care is delivered to the residents of China. Therefore, solving the problem will make the health facility to function well in China (Cooper, Schindler & Sun, 2006). However, descriptive research supports the young generation by examining them when they get involved in data collection. A descriptive research approach tends to identify the problem and document it. Consequently, the relevant information is provided in the future that will be used to solve the problem.

Part 3

Question # 1

Changes in membership of the club will be affected either positively or negatively by both the variable and the sub-variables. Therefore, satisfaction plays a direct role in changes of membership employees such that if the services offered do not favor or benefit him or her as a member, he or she will not enroll as a member of the job.

Question # 2

Feeling as a variable tends to affect the membership employee by developing a negative emotion. From the case study, the variable is accompanied by sub-variables, whereby; some are golf club-oriented and family-oriented, etc. Feelings like; sadness, anger, fear, etc. can make an employee act so aggressively towards his or her colleague at work. Such feelings will affect both the employee and the company leading to low productivity.

Question # 3

Our third variable is the decision to join the club with sub-variables like; relation to home, new friends, parents, etc. The question is why a person feels that he or she should join the club. Many people make a lot of friends at a teenage level, where these friends make sure that you participate in everything they do by involving you. Therefore, many of them tend to lead you on the wrong path (Cooper, Schindler & Sun, 2006). However, it is always advisable that when making friends choose them carefully because they can ruin both your health and social life.

Question # 4

Management research questions hierarchy:

  1. What is leading to a decrease in the memberships?
  2. Does the young generation enjoy the facilities provided?
  3. What is the obstacle that is blocking the attraction of younger families?
  4. What are the strategies to implement to attract young families?

From my questions above, comparing them with those listed on the survey, they try to differ. In my management research, the questions include both the variables and sub-variables. This indicates that research is conducted for both the external and psychological features of the worker’s environment.

Question # 5

  1. The purpose of the study is to identify problems leading to a decrease in employees and come up with solutions to keep the current workers. The study also provides solutions to the strategies to be implemented to attract younger families.
  2. From the research conducted, the nature of the study is exploratory because the research has been conducted to examine the issues that are affecting the organization and generate the final design suitably. The study also aids in defining the best approach to design the research work associated with data collection.
