Checklist and process of selecting Real Estate Brokerage Company
As an upcoming real estate agent, Realtor affiliation is essential. Having a membership with the National Association of Realtors would provide me with the opportunities and support needed to sharpen my professional skills and become more profitable. As an upcoming real estate agent having a membership to multiple listing services (MSL) is one tool for achieving a successful career. The MSL provides a pro-competitive business environment when all agents have access to MSL information (Barwick &Wong, 2019).
As an agent, the agent income is as valuable as the company’s market share; therefore, one is supposed to do accurate estimates as Brokerage does not reveal market share. However, a successful brokerage company will point out successful and experienced agents with a significant market share compared to other brokerage companies with the new entry of agents (Gilbukh & Pinkham, 2019).
Training programs are crucial to ensure that new staff is incorporated into the company’s schedule of operation and integrated into the work environment. State Department of Real Estate creates forums for continued training and information sharing. This should also be taken up by any fully functional brokerage company, especially when recruiting or hiring agents.
Prior to the interview with selected Real Estate Brokerage Company, I will conduct a background check of the company’s premises, how appealing is the exterior of the offices. The location should be convenient and well accessible to homebuyers. It should have adequate parking spaces for both employees and homebuyers. The setup of the office should illustrate a business atmosphere with a representation of diverse and high-quality staff. The offices should display attractive and 3D prints of the advertisements. This will appeal to homebuyers walking into the premises.
A background check on the firm’s website is essential, and it should be up to date and functioning. According to an online survey conducted by the American National Association of Realtors, it is estimated over 88% of home buyers choose the internet home search via the internet (X. Yuan et al., 2013). Therefore, the firm should have a cutting edge of its marketing via its website by providing links to its staff and contacts. With this information, I will approach one of the staff agents to get his or her insights about the firm and guidance as I look forward to the interview with the broker.
In conclusion, licensing is essential to any upcoming agent as much as getting attached to a reputable Brokerage company. Each State has the mandate to evaluate and regulate the Real Estate agents and ensure standards and approval for operation. The number of successful agents is affiliated to companies that have incorporated digital platforms in their services and marketing as the growing trend of increasing market share even as technology advances.
