Using a career biography/biographies, you will analyze how these skills and qualities supported this person’s career. Through your reading, you will need to find: 3 Specific qualities needed in this career—2 quotes/specific examples each 3 specific skills needed in this career—2 quotes/specific examples each You will also write a one-page minimum analysis of how these skills and qualities supported this person’s career. Reflection consists mainly of paraphrase/summary. • Support: Project does not address prompt. No parenthetical references or uses a method other than MLA. Utilizes fewer than one quote per paragraph. • Project: Project utilizes less than 3 qualities and skills with less than 3 examples each. • Mechanics and Format: Excessive mistakes in grammar, punctuation, and spelling severely interfere with reality. Contains 10 or more errors in or does not use MLA format. Lacks works cited page. Example: Career Bio Skills/Qualities Example Career: High School Teacher • Passion for teaching o “This can manifest itself so many ways. I’m the “jump around the room” kind of teacher, and sure, that comes from a lot of passion, but some of the best teachers I’ve known have had a passion that students had to be quiet to catch onto” (Lehmann). o “The passion of these teachers was not only for their students but also for the content they taught” (Smoot). • Understanding of the role of a school in a child’s life o “Sometimes the best teaching we do happens on basketball courts, in the halls after a class, at a local coffee shop or in a drama studio.
