Singleton, John. “Boys n da Hood” and Matsoukas, Melina. “Queen & Slim”. Movie Being directed by black directors, John Singleton for Boyz n the Hood, and Melina Matsoukas for Queen & Slim, the two films give a clear picture of how the Blacks commoditized in the society dominated by the Whites. Institutions of power, such as the Police department, which are required to maintain law and order, appear to infringe rights of the Black by brutally handling them. In the film the Boyz n the Hood, the police threatened Tre after pulling over with his gun without a probable cause. It was the same police who had harassed Tre’s father seven years ago. The same is evident in the film Queen & Slim, where a police officer pulls a gun on Slim when Slim complains that it is cold and they should hurry home. Considering that the depiction comes from Black perspectives, these movies are significant since they help us to create a clear picture of how Blackness impacts our lives. In both films, Black lives seem not to matter…

It discusses in detail the initiatives of TD Program meant to manage type II diabetes in underserved or at-risk –adults with low levels of education and lower incomes- populations by utilizing four structural components. They are healthier food initiative, tobacco initiative, physical activity initiative, and life transformation lessons. The healthier food initiative is a plan which focuses on intensifying access to healthier food products in Kansas communities that are underserved. The tobacco initiative, on the other hand, seeks to find different types of brief interventions to a diverse group of people who have type II diabetes and subsequently helping them to cease smoking. The physical activity initiative attempts to advocate for physical activity and physical education in institutions, preferably schools. Its objective is to ensure that the schools adhere to international benchmarks of physical activity. Also, to warrant that the physical activity culture embedded in the student will stick permanently. Lastly, the Life Transformation Lessons surface…
theoretical basis of the research philosophy and the methodology for collecting and analyzing data Research Methodology 3.1 Introduction This chapter presents the theoretical basis of the research philosophy and the methodology for collecting and analyzing data. Also, it discusses the ethical issues and introduces the reliability and validity of the collected data. Notably, Saunders et al. (2009) “research onion” framework will be used to guide the flow of the discussion in this chapter. This is represented in figure 1. The approach adopted in using the research union framework is to start from the outer layer going to the inner layer of the research onion. It offers an effective progression of how the researcher has designed the research methodology of this study. Saunders et al. (2009) compare the research process to the act of unwrapping an onion, layer by layer. Thus, for the inner layer to be seen, one must first unwrap the outer layer. For a goal to be attained, the right steps must be followed accordingly, and this also applies in this research, the first step must be covered…

IMPACT OF ASTHMA ON ADOLESCENTS Introduction Asthma involves the inflammatory cells in the lungs being activated. Eosinophils in the airways of patients with untreated asthma is conspicuous with mononuclear cells, mast cells, and lymphocytes. The inflammation changes the structure of bronchi, altering the sub epithelium and epithelium (Chanez & Bourdin, 2008). The smooth muscle cell abnormalities are due to inflammation caused by asthma. The decline in lung function also causes airway remodelling making them different from those of healthy individuals. To know the symptoms, adults and teenagers with asthma usually have shortness of breath, which results in breathlessness if exercising. Also, there is tightness of the chest and a whistling sound when breathing (InformedHealth, 2017). A person also feels the urge to cough. Studying about asthma in adolescents helps teens and health workers know the triggers and symptoms of asthma. This will help the adolescents manage their condition and prevent situations where they will trigger the illness, causing a spike. Also, by having awareness, the teenager will be able to monitor themselves and know their progress. Asthma limits a person’s…
Article Review on Diabetes Type 2 diabetes affects many older adults, and it may be more complicated by other chronic conditions. Today, different treatment options are appropriate for the management of Type 2 diabetes for older people depending on life expectancy, functional status, and comorbid conditions. Giving care to diabetic patients can be overwhelming to both the caregivers and patients, especially the elderly patients who suffer from other chronic conditions. The article’s primary purpose is to identify particular considerations for the care of…
Why is my dog digging holes all of a sudden It’s a norm for dogs to dig holes, with more than 80 percent of dog owners reporting that their dogs have a habit of digging holes. It would be unwise not to take the necessary measures to stop this behavior,r especially if you have invested time and resources to make your garden somehow attractive. Constant digging of holes leads to the build-up of earth chunks, which is not something good for your garden. To curb this behavior, start by finding out the reasons as to why your dog keeps on digging holes in your yard and from there come up with the necessary measures to prevent further damage to your yard. Besides excellent hearing, dogs can smell and sense things we human beings can’t. They can sense and hear something underground, which is not common for human beings. Dogs dig more often to catch something they have heard or sensed burrowing in the soil. There are times dogs dig holes to create a shelter, especially during the…
