How the State and Its Leader Attempt To Impede Citizens from Exercising Their Rights The definition of tyranny is an aristocratic leadership with a leader exerting authority regardless of legal restraints. Different kinds of totalitarian societies occurred in the past, where the rulers would regulate every aspect of the life of the citizens. In this study, the author provides a good illustration of the famous Soviet Union dictator, Joseph Stalin. He ruled the Soviet Union for over twenty years. In the discussion, the author offers a description of how leaders from the state endeavor confining the governed citizens from exercising individual rights in culminating autocracy in contemporary societies. Most rulers employ intimidation together with terror in ruling the citizens. Such contributes to scare and fear among the opposition members of the administration. The opposing persons fear that they may be held accountable for any undesirable occurrences in their areas or anywhere near the public places. If the government victimizes its people, then the moral foundations for authority and law deteriorate. Magstadt (2017) argues that the wrong kinds of political comportment…

Mother’s antibodies that protect the baby from diseases and contribute to a long-term healthy effect. Almost all mothers can breastfeed. Although little milk is released at the beginning, it is usually enough for the needs of the baby. Breast size and shape, does not affect the secretion of milk by the mammary glands. Modern Day Slavery Slavery can be defined as the state of exploiting an individual’s labor without their willingness. To as late as 2007, slavery was still allowed in some countries. The practice of slavery could be seen as a way of a particular group of people exercising dominion over another. For example, captives of war used to work as slaves and would be traded by their masters for money and property. The slavery trade was regulated by a series of laws which were majorly aimed at creating understanding between the slave traders and not necessarily on protecting the rights of the slaves. Despite the outlawing of slavery, the practice has continued to exist in modern-day forms, and little has been done to prevent it. Modern slavery is also referred to as contemporary slavery or neo-colonialism and the estimates of the current number of slaves vary depending on the definition of slavery. The acts of modern slavery include human trafficking where victims are exposed to work for little or no pay and massive disrespect of human rights. Child Labor A…
Ethical Dilemma Ethical dilemmas are a common occurrence not only in the field of healthcare but also in their day-to-day lives. The occurrence of such moments in society brings out the inherent conflicts in rights and value, which may, at times, lead to tension between individuals or community groups. One such event once occurred to me. One of my very closest friends, who I will refer to as J.C., once disclosed to me that she had been having symptoms of what she suspected to be an STI. J.C. was confident enough to disclose this to me since she knew I had good medical knowledge and that I could offer her advice on what healthcare actions to take. Moreover, J.C. and I had grown up together for a good part of our lives. The two of us were virtually best friends. Our parents and other family members also knew each other as we had been in several family gatherings together in the past. After disclosing her condition, I advised J.C. to get tested at the local clinic. The results showed that…
RACIAL DISCRIMINATION AGAINST PEOPLE OF COLOR DURING BOOKING OF AIRBNBS CMN Airbnb is a sharing economy enterprise that was founded in 2008 to give travelers a local experience and emergence into the community during their trips by allowing locals to provide accommodation in their homes rather than booking hotels. It also empowers people around the world by allowing them to become hospitality entrepreneurs, therefore benefitting all shareholders – the guests, hosts, the airbnb organization as well as the involved communities. Despite Airbnb being a platform for multiple stakeholders to benefit from, there have been several ethical and social concerns surrounding complaints received from people of color reporting multiple instances of perceived and/or racial discrimination and seclusion while booking or utilizing the company’s services. This has led to the filing of multiple law suits against the organization as well as individual hosts with the former attempting to make reforms in its policies to demonstrate its support for diversity and inclusion. This case study aims to provide insight into the ethical issues surrounding the perceived discrimination and/or discrimination faced by people of…
