Risk/Protective Factors Domains and How They Influence Delinquency. Introduction. Historically, studies on delinquency have focused on later adolescent stages. However, presently, the direction has changed given the fact that studies have now concentrated on chronic juvenile offenders because of their increasing commission of a disproportionately higher number of crimes. As such, there is a great need to analyze the existing data and address the key issues that, though, might not have been explored in depth before but pose as critical factors for consideration in the quest to lower the rate of delinquency, particularly among the adolescents. There is a need for finding evidence concerning young children’s engagement in a myriad of anti-social behaviors, which most commonly foreshadows early delinquency. Therefore, given the need for in-depth analysis with regard to the juvenile current rate of crime, this paper explores to identify several critical risk factors that, when integrated, may result in the onset of early offending. In order to accomplish this goal, the article reviews historical works of literature and legal and theoretical contexts that link to the subject. Later, a…

Singleton, John. “Boys n da Hood” and Matsoukas, Melina. “Queen & Slim”. Movie Being directed by black directors, John Singleton for Boyz n the Hood, and Melina Matsoukas for Queen & Slim, the two films give a clear picture of how the Blacks commoditized in the society dominated by the Whites. Institutions of power, such as the Police department, which are required to maintain law and order, appear to infringe rights of the Black by brutally handling them. In the film the Boyz n the Hood, the police threatened Tre after pulling over with his gun without a probable cause. It was the same police who had harassed Tre’s father seven years ago. The same is evident in the film Queen & Slim, where a police officer pulls a gun on Slim when Slim complains that it is cold and they should hurry home. Considering that the depiction comes from Black perspectives, these movies are significant since they help us to create a clear picture of how Blackness impacts our lives. In both films, Black lives seem not to matter…

Revenge in Shakespeare’s Hamlet             Revenge is played out in Hamlet, such as when Hamlet wants to kill Claudius for killing his father, Prince Fortinbras intends to take back Denmark, and Laertes wants to kill Hamlet for killing Polonius. The leading causes for revenge in Shakespeare’s play are betrayal and killing of loved ones. The acts of revenge are realistically, and this is evident when the Ghost of King Hamlet insists on talking to Hamlet, and he proceeds to delay the revenge since he is not sure of allegations (Haque 56). As Hamlet goes out of his way to stage a play to ascertain if Claudius will feel guilty if he sees a replica of King Hamlet’s killing, this shows his willingness to ensure that he is realistic if he proceeds to kill him. This mirror other cases such as acts of revenge by Prince Fortinbras of Norway and Laertes. It is in this regard that this analysis seeks to answer: Is revenge a realistic concept as shown in the play? Principal Causes of Revenge in Hamlet The primary causes…

theoretical basis of the research philosophy and the methodology for collecting and analyzing data Research Methodology 3.1 Introduction This chapter presents the theoretical basis of the research philosophy and the methodology for collecting and analyzing data. Also, it discusses the ethical issues and introduces the reliability and validity of the collected data. Notably, Saunders et al. (2009) “research onion” framework will be used to guide the flow of the discussion in this chapter. This is represented in figure 1. The approach adopted in using the research union framework is to start from the outer layer going to the inner layer of the research onion. It offers an effective progression of how the researcher has designed the research methodology of this study. Saunders et al. (2009) compare the research process to the act of unwrapping an onion, layer by layer. Thus, for the inner layer to be seen, one must first unwrap the outer layer. For a goal to be attained, the right steps must be followed accordingly, and this also applies in this research, the first step must be covered…
