FACTORS INFLUENCING THE PROFITABILITY OF PUMPKIN CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTION 1.0 Overview This chapter covers the background of the study, problem statement, general and specific objectives, justification of the study and study area. 1.1 Background to the Study Pumpkin is a plant crop originated from northeastern Mexico and the southern united states, where currently, it is widely grown in many countries all over the world. Pumpkin is one of the first cash crops of early colonial America. It grows plentifully in the southern states and is a significant source of income for many plantations. Today, pumpkin is grown in over 110 countries, and its cultivation requires a tropical or temperate climate.. 1.2 Problem Statement Although the government is trying to educate farmers to diversify in agriculture to improve the quality of life of its citizens, there is a situation where farmers, especially in Eastern Kenya (Machakos county), grow one cash crop over a long time hence most of them are still languishing in poverty due to reliance on single crop production (monocropping). The practice has not been able to raise their…
Effects of Glaciers in Alaska, North America Name: Course: Instructor: Institution: Date of Submission: PART A (RESEARCH PAPER) Introduction This research is geographical-based research that seeks to establish the results of Glaciers in Alaska, one of the states in America. Glaciers occupy a significant part of the land in the United States, where Alaska contributes highly to these levels. Glaciers refer to vast masses of ice that slowly move some mountains and valleys downwards, thereby forming primary freshwater sources across the world. North America and specifically Alaska, is the most adversely affected by the effects of this geographical feature, as discussed in this research. Weather and Climate of Alaska Alaska is an actual state that is located in North America. The region is characterized by high levels of glaciers, with Bering forming the longest glacier that covers over 100 kilometers of length. This part of America usually experiences changing climatic conditions, with summer exhibiting fair conditions that become worse during winter periods. According…
Student Name Instructors Name Course Title Date Inequality Deprotonate exposure of a specific part of the community to inequality may result in various harms to this part of the community. The term inequality is the exposure of specific individuals to unfair treatments; the individuals can range from the community of color, the poor, and any other affected part of the community. The affected parts of the community are always subjected to environmental pollution, concomitant health, unequal environment protection, and unfair treatments as provided in the laws. Inequality can be considered as the neglecting or subjecting a particular part of a community to unfair treatments. Inequality at times may be the killing of the victims of color or a natural environmental disaster that may come in as a result of negligence. In the book Voice From the Bayou, a clear indication of inequality to the victims of color by the police, and a whole community by the floods is clearly portrayed. The book recaptures that the semester was not a good one because it had begun after many…
My Interest in Attending the Naval Academy Summer Seminar As a US citizen, I have always desired to serve and give back to this nation that offered me great opportunities to flourish and attain success. While I was not raised in a military home, I have been privileged to associate with military men and women. I have always admired how they diligently perform their duties and faithfully serve this country. They have put their lives at risk to serve their motherland. They stay away from their families for extended periods, deployed in far-flung nations for the sake of bringing order and securing our country. Their families live in anxiety whenever they hear of military plane accidents. There is no greater sacrifice than this that one can ever give to his or her country. While my awareness of the demanding nature of the military life would have made me turn my back, it has not. On the contrary, the more I see the sacrifices made by the men and women in uniform, the more I want to serve this country. I…
Crude Oil 2019 Crude oil prices in 2019 have shown an unpredictable curve. 2019 has been a challenging year for the energy oil markets as the growth in oil demand reduces. The average price for crude oil from January 2019 is likely to average at $60 per barrel according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s energy outlook. The prices spiked during the spring season as oil dealers looked forward to the high demand during summer. After the high peak in summer, the prices went down for the winter. The unexpected swings in factors that affect oil demand and supply have made the prices volatile for example in 2014 June; the prices averaged at $100.26 per barrel, one year later, that is June 2015, the prices dropped to $60. 2016 January had the lowest rate of 26.55 dollars. Today, the costs keep on fluctuating due to the continually changing markets. Last year September, the prices averaged at $81.20 per barrel. The traders remained optimistic for the 2019 low shortages due to the Venezuela outages and the U.S. consents against Iran. This…

The Impact of EU Sanctions on the Russian Economy Abstract Did the imposition of the European Union (EU) sanction impact the Russian Economy? Some researchers contend that sanctions are expensive tools that are applied to attain the goals of foreign policy. In contrast, others contend that they are comparatively costless tools that leaders use to generate domestic political back-up. These arguments cannot be true simultaneously. This research proposal assesses the impact of the sanctions imposed by the European Union on the Russian Economy. The EU sanctions led to the depreciation of the Russian rouble against the Euro in January 2014 because of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Other researchers contended that the increase in demand in industrial nations and low growth perceptions in established markets contributed to the depreciation of the Russian rouble against the Euro. The EU sanctions on Russia contributed to declining Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The Russian GDP has survived the combined pressure of the global economy and sanctions drastically well during the second and fourth quarters of 2014. The EU sanctions on Russia…
