Jewish and Early Christian Art During the rise of the Roman Empire, there existed two types of religions, Christianity and the Jewish. The two had different kinds of art, and they used them to express their culture and politics. The Jewish artists drew their inspiration from the Near Eastern and Classical Greek and Roman art. Some of the most traditional arts of the Jewish community are; the first temple in Jerusalem, Jewish Catacomb art in Rome, and the Synagogues. The first temple in Jerusalem was first built by King Solomon, according to the Hebrew Bible. It was later rebuilt by Cyrus the Great after conquering Babylonia. A Jewish catacomb is a form of art that display wall paintings with Jewish themes. Cultural Experience:The Sanctuary of Truth, Thailand I had one of the best experiences in the Sanctuary of Truth. The locals call it Prasat Sajja Tham. It is a construction of religious ethnicity located in Pattaya, Thailand. The building is built entirely on wood and has sculptures that present the Buddhist and Hindu themes. I visited the museum with a group of friends. We had not booked ourselves a tour guide, but we were lucky to join a group that was guided by a worker of the museum. His name was Chaiya. Chaiya said that the temple reflected Buddhism, which is the main religion in Thailand. However, some Indian and Chinese culture can be depicted. The temple is built using Thai architecture, which was used in the Ayutthaya period. The decorative carvings were impeccable. Chaiyae said that the sculptures told the mythological stories that are told in the stories of the eastern religions. One of these sculptures was called the sun, which he said was a symbolism for the victory of good over evil. Each inch of the building is sculptured;…
Dance Critique Introduction The dream is a dance adapted from ‘a Midsummer Night by William Shakespeare choreographed by Frederick Ashton and Felix Mendelssohn. The dream or ballet initially premiered in 1964 at the Royal Opera Ballet. The main purpose of creating the choreography was to mark the 400th anniversary since Shakespeare was born. Ashton achieved this by creating a dance filled with graceful moves, costumes and colour to show his audience the intended message. In this case, the intended message of the choreographer was enhanced through the movement of the characters, the lighting incorporated and materials placed on stage to enhance the storyline. Ashton relied on the individual performance of each of the ballad students who danced like fairies to strengthen his message. The dance is a narrative which combines many different styles that arises from the effective relationships between the dancers and the audiences. Even though ‘the dream’ is one of the most loved dances globally, it embodies ambience, brilliance and enigma as it aims to use artistic designs to increase its audiences for instance through the use of…

armed conflicts that the United Nations has been involved in Part 1 United Nations is one of the essential organizations in the world. This is because it provides a common point of control in the world and a sense of belonging where countries feel bound together. The United Nations plays several roles: one, it ensures that the world is at peace by acting as a mediator among warring nations, protects human rights, and serves as a symbol of international unity. Listening and Responding to Musical Compositions Edvard Grieg – Peer Gynt, Suite No.1, Morning Mood When listening to Morning Mood, I noticed that the composition mainly features two instruments: the flute and the oboe. The piece opens with a flute and oboe solo, and violins join in to add to the softness of the tone (0:00 – 0:32). The flutist and oboist take over, and the interplay between them is magnificently sublime (0:44 – 0:55). The reign of the flute and oboe is disrupted by a melodious violin, viola, and French horn tune (1:10 -1:57). All instruments play together at the same pitch as in the beginning, giving the composition an orchestra feel (2:28 – 2:45) While watching the video, I realized that the camera focused on individuals playing the main melodic line and provided wide-angle shots when multiple instruments were playing simultaneously. This music makes me feel relaxed. I like how the flute and oboe are the main instruments, and the other instruments provide accompaniment. I also appreciate the fact that this piece has no drastic changes from…
