Theatre Production Paper I attended a musical production by Broadway and directed by Bobb Fosse. Music and lyrics in the play was done by Stephen Schwartz and narrated by Ben Vereen, who is also the leading player. The other characters in the play are Benjamin Rayson(the King), Wiliam Katt(Pippin), Leslie Denniston(the widow), Martha Raye(Pippin’s grandmother), and Chita Rivera(Pippin’s stepmother). The play is about a young prince who had big ambitions in life other than being royalty. He was adventurous and quite passionate about this thing called life. This is seen as he struggles so much to get the attention of his father, the King. Throughout the play, the King is portrayed as either being too preoccupied with issues royalty or drunk. Hence he has no listening ear to the young prince. The prince then decides to go to war, an opportunity that Chita Rivera takes to eliminate both father and son to pave the way for her son to be King. It was during the international box-office success and the awake of Sergio Leone’s film-making style. The American critics used the term Spaghetti Western and also those in other countries as the Italians produced and directed most of these Western. According to Aldo Sambrell, the veteran Spaghetti actor, the “Spaghetti Western” was invented by Alfonso Sanchez, a Spanish journalist. The Performance of “Don Giovanni” in Old Globe Theatre, San Diego California My year was complete when I watched the Opera House performing “Don Giovanni” in Old Globe Theatre in San Diego California, a theatre that was full to capacity despite the alleged complains of expensive tickets. The stage was well lit with orchestral colors that aroused varied feelings in the actions as well as the introductions. The three-dimensional stage aroused a sharp sensation in the spine and made me wish I was one of the actors using the spectacular stage. The blue and white dressing code with the majority of the audience fairly rhymed with the stage colors that kept changing with the scenes producing a magnificent theme. Being an active member of the Theatre Department Being an active member of the Theatre Department, I had little idea of what to expect from the performance. The actors and directions of the play are not as what you would expect from a traditional show. Besides, the play scripted by Fiona Quinn has been interpreted in different ways, which gave the director great liberty. While the performance was delightfully put together, there were some moments in the play that went unsolved. The performance was experimental, and despite the script signifying sad moments for the orphans, the actors made it sensation introducing humor scenes cracking up the audience. The actress used a playful tone and a high pitched voice to attract and make the presentation sprightlier. While the play was set to begin, the audience got to gaze on the unique design of the stage. The floor was wooden with walls side portraying an image of reminiscent of a ship. Light projections were occasionally used throughout the play to assist with visual aids.

An Analysis of the Blood Wedding by Garcia Lorca. Introduction and summary Blood Wedding is a famous play by Federico Garcia Lorca which was completed in 1932 but premiered in Madrid in 1933. The play is a combination of non-realistic and non-naturalistic features that involve the use of songs, chants, music, poetry and rhythm. The author divides the play into three acts with three scenes in each part to format the literary work for the continuous effect, dramatic climax and the final impact. The first part includes the setting of the play as in the farm homes of the groom and Leonardo. The author also introduces the audience to the characters while explaining their circumstances to develop the plot of the play.
