Joyce’s Dubliners Dubliners is a collection of short stories by Joyce James, which were first published in 1914. The stories by Joyce form a depiction of middles class life of people in Dublin in early years of the 20th century. The stories by Joyce James were written when the Irish people were searching for a national identity, and therefore, Irish nationalism was at its peak The Irish Literary Theatre was against the European dramatists, which were vital for the advancement of the Irish art. “The Day of Rabblement” was written by James Joyce while he was still a university student and the main argument on the story was the need for artistic freedom in the Irish community. Artistic freedom is very necessary for each state because arts serve as a mirror of society. Artist work should criticize moral degradation in the society and should not be compromised by either political or religious groups. Many scholars believe that James Joyce revolutionized the novel in the twentieth century by abandoning the convection way of narrative, which was compromised by politics and religion…
The new version JBL Go 2 In the box, you get the speaker itself, and before you throw this box away, make sure you take the micro USB cable out of this small box at the bottom. I like the design of this speaker, and after using it for some time, I can see why it is so popular. The new version JBL Go 2 is coated with this rubber-like material, which feels very pleasant to touch. This material will catch oils from your fingers quickly, but a solution I found for this problem was not to touch it when your hands are oily. There is a white LED present under the mesh, looks very nice and turns red to tell you that it’s charging. This champagne color looks very nice, but it also comes in many different colors, which are unique for Bluetooth speakers. It has this prominent JBL branding on both sides, so they seem to be proud of this product. It doesn’t look bad, though, and on the back, it also adds to the…
Black Revolution and Contemporary Racial Issues The speech I have chosen for this assignment is Malcolm X’s The Black Revolution, which was orated on April 8, 1964 at a meeting sponsored by the Militant Labor Forum at Palm Gardens in New York. While a video could not be found of this speech, an audio of the speech, however, was found. In the audio, he utilized oratorical skills that he has utilized often times with his other speeches. One can notice that he is a very aggressive and assertive speaker and he appeals to both pathos and ethos in his speech to convey his message and in order to appeal to the audience. Malcolm utilizes pathos and ethos when he brings up the many situations in which the white man has dehumanized and ruined the black man historically and currently. He is instilling an agitation in his listeners by reaching them by means of their emotions and morals. His overall oratorical and rhetorical skills help to convey the message of his speech, which is that a revolution within the black…
Children’s theatre Children’s theatre is essential to child development and teaches the child essential skills to use throughout their life. Theatre allows children to branch out and see the world through a different perspective and helps them conceive a new idea, new possibilities, and a new world. Introducing children’s theatre to children at a young age can provide them with beneficial skills such as cultural awareness, patience, build leadership skills, self-confidence, and motivation/ commitment skills. In the classroom, is the perfect place to incorporate theatre into the curriculum as “adapting literary text is a great way to introduce children to an important work of literature and the process of adaption gives them a much deeper understanding of the text than they would get from reading alone” (Bates, p. 70). Children’s theatre also allows students to learn how to express their emotions and voice through the dialogue of a scene. As a teacher, that is going to be one of my goals to create avid and fluent readers. When I was in elementary school, my teacher’s incorporated plays into some of…
Organizational Change Case study: In 2014, General Motors (Japan) released a report elaborating on how the company went through significant changes and the strategies used for change management. The case study is discussed in the recommendation section of the paper. Introduction The modern business is growing fast and undergoing major change processes (Dawson and P. 2019), compelling managers to acquaint with the change processes. Almost every business organization is seeking to introduce and adopt innovative policies of production, train their employees, sustain their loyal, and acquire new customers and explore new markets (Rothaermel and Frank 2017). Globalization is also progressively influencing changes. Every company is finding ways of getting into the global market (Khan et al. 2014). Innovative systems and strategies can significantly disrupt the smooth running of an organization. Management of change is essential for the smooth transition of the organization. The purpose of managing change is to minimize the resistance (Sarban and A et al. 2016). Change management maximizes teamwork needed to establish the shift (Zairi and M 1977). It is also essential for the efficient operation of…
The Doctor (1991) William Hurt stars in the film “The Doctor” that was produced in 1991 as Jack McKee, a renowned surgeon in a well-established hospital. It begins with a team of surgeons led by Dr. McKee carrying an operation on a patient who had jumped several floors to the ground. This exercise is undertaken with less seriousness, as shown by the kind of conversations held during the operation. It is also noted that there is some music accompanied in the theatre. Jack then leaves for his home. Surprisingly, his son calls him Dr. McKee, not dad. A couple attends a particular function, after which Anne, his wife, notices Jack is coughing blood and raises her worries. Dr. McKee goes for a biopsy and is found to have a growth on his throat. He is now diagnosed with throat cancer and is now a patient. His first experience with hospital personnel displeases him. He isn’t given forms to fill for the thirty minutes he was waiting to be attended to, no privacy is offered to him, and he certainly doesn’t…

Lysistrata Annotated Bibliography General Idea Lysistrata is an ancient greek playwright bawdy antiwar comedy. It was first staged at around 411 BCE as a comic account of women’s mission to bring the Peloponnesian war to an end. Lysistrata primarily aimed at convincing all women to withdraw sex privileges from their men to force them to negotiate for peace. At first, women were reluctant and dubious, but the solemn oath sealed the deal, and all women agreed to abjure sex during wartime. Lysistrata, as such, is considered the greatest works of all times as well as the most anthologized. Various researchers have analyzed Lysistrata since antiquity. Fox, Mary‐Jane. “The idea of women in peacekeeping: Lysistrata and Antigone.” International Peacekeeping 8.2 (2001): 9-22. This work is substantively foundational in supporting my arguments. Succinctly, it reveals the impact of women in war throughout history, dating back when Antigone and Lysistrata were performed and written. Besides, its author has used peer-reviewed articles and scholarly works from women databases, consequently ma king it recognizable and reliable literature. This work implies collaboratively with…
PSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDERS AND TREATMENTS Task 1 CASE STUDY Task 2 From the behavior displayed by Cathy, it comes out clearly that she is suffering from Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD). Social anxiety disorder has been defined as the fear that surrounds a person on a social situation and when interacting with unfamiliar people to bring an automatic feeling of self-consciousness and judgment. Looking at the case of Cathy as presented, we can conclude that she is a grown up as depicted by her age, 22 years. So the behavior she displays can’t be associated with childhood. From her story, we realize that she drives her own car when going to university, not because of any other reasons but because she fears using the public transport. Since we have not been presented with any case which might have led him to fearing public transport like accidents we conclude that she behaves that way to avoid being in a midst of crowds. This conclusion is however affirmed by her deliberate choice to leave his course of interest (Business studies) in the university because…
Matricide Introduction Family relationships can be difficult sometimes until the bond that exists between family members is no longer in existence. Matricide can be defined as the killing of a biological mother by her children. These cases are common in society today than in the past due to the various factors in the contemporary world. In today’s world, some parents are reluctant to performing their parental duty and may end up neglecting their children. Meghan, in her book, the unspeakable, talks about how her family had a complicated relationship, how the mother had neglected them, just like the grandmother had neglected her. Meghan wished her mother died, and even if she did not do it herself, at least she had thought of it a couple of times. Victims of matricide usually have brought it upon himself, and if they practised their role as mothers, then the rates of matricide would decrease significantly. Causes of matricide Neglect Children who commit matricide usually have stopped caring about their mothers as a result of their mother not caring for them. Daum felt that…
