Optimization techniques used in Operations Management and the performance of SMEs Abstract In this report we investigate the possible relationships among some optimization techniques used in Operations Management and the performance of SMEs that operate in the manufacturing sector. A model based on the qualitative analysis; Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) approach is used to analyze a dataset of operation management practices in a hypothetical company called Jiang Long Food Company. The model is expressed by a system of simultaneous equations and is solved through regression analysis. Taking advantage of the contributions presented by the employees of Jiang Long Food Company and the pre-existing data on production and supply chain, we focus our investigation on highlighting the importance of Operations Management practices, which shall be this firm`s performance major driver.
