Distance learning Distance learning is a formalized mode of learning that takes place remotely with the aid of electronic communication methods. Most people still prefer traditional education, as they may not be fully aware of the benefits and conveniences of online learning. In my opinion, online training is more convenient, especially for individuals who want to progress their profession and increase their chances in the job market; it provides active query forums. It is cheaper compared to the traditional learning method. Firstly, individuals may feel tired after work and not want to attend regular classes; this makes online learning convenient. Distance learning allows individuals to take their courses in the comfort of their offices and homes, as they do not have to be physically present in class. Secondly, online learning provides active query forums that allow the tutors to chat and ask questions at any particular time. Tutors are also in a position to do more research on the internet without the pressure of limited time. In contrast, the classroom setting has limited time to accommodate other subjects. Thirdly, online…
Stages in Krathwohl’s taxonomy of affective learning In light of the stages in Krathwohl’s taxonomy of affective learning, the class I am familiar with has a majority of learners is in the stage of receiving. We could measure whether learners had reached the stage of receiving when they pay attention. We can know this when they are listening in class. We could measure the level of learners responding when they ask questions, this shows that there contribution towards the class. We could measure the level of learners’ when they start to recognize their own abilities and does their responsibilities. We could measure the level of learners’ they start to put into practice what they have learned. In this class, the instructor gave the time to an open discussion where all students can contribute their opinions. One change that the teacher could make to enhance effective learning in the class is by using simple languages to explain various concepts. Life-Long Learning and Striving for what is Around the Corner Question 1 Throughout the text, Brook asks himself, “Am I crazy or what?” This self-talk challenges his life choices as he fails to understand how he could get as far as he did, even though he had challenges along the way. Question 2 Brook took leaves and went on trips. Additionally, he interacted with friends and went backpacking in Europe as a means of rejuvenation. I always try to rest as much as I can. When I feel low, I talk to my parents or friends and go for fun outdoor activities. Nature has always been a therapy for me since it is so peaceful and reminds me why I should strive for higher ground. Question 3 Brook was sometimes overwhelmed with work and school. At some point, he lost his mother. All in all, he managed to stay focused since he knew what he wanted and was always motivated by what nurses do in the world today. Self-motivation was, therefore, a critical factor that propelled him to what he…
learning styles Answers should be written in complete sentences and paragraph form. Please be sure to proofread, as scholarly writing is important. Review the grading rubric to ensure all requirements are met. What percentage of each modality (mode of learning style) do you prefer based on your survey? Auditory 30% Visual 40% Tactile 75% According to this survey how do you primarily learn? What is your initial reaction to the three percentages provided by the survey? From the Survey, I have realized that I primarily learn through tactile learning. I like learning while doing. Rather than watching demonstrations or listening to a lecture, I enjoy learning while involving myself in physical activities. The physical movements enable me to understand and remember concepts easily. I was surprised that I primarily learn through the tactile process. However, I was astonished that I am reasonably active in the visual learning process because I am attracted to color and pictures. What strategies from the bulleted list of your primary learning style/modality are ones that you currently use or…
Quotes for learning plan Learning is a continuous process which has no end. The role of a teacher in the classroom is to direct the learning process by guiding the learner on how to gain knowledge. The purpose of this study is to identify different language-acquisition theories and teaching methodologies for English The first theory is known as an intuitive acquisition which states that a new language is learned the same way the student learned his first language through a lot of exposure to the new language (Frodesen, et al 9). It is through practice that the new language will be acquired learned without difficulties. The second theory to learning English is known as Habit-formation (Kumar, et al 36) which defines language as a set of habits and practice in which a learner needs to mimic and memorize the vocabularies of new language until he can produce the correct patterns without difficulties. Another theory is known as the Cognitive process which states that learning a new language involves understanding the underlying rules after which one is able to apply…
analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning Introduction This report aims to investigate the disadvantages and advantages of a new technological form used in higher education learning. Technology in higher education has always been of help. The implementation of online education has ensured continuous progress in the process of achieving proper educational outcomes. The application of distance learning has been completed for some higher educational institutions, but not all. Distance learning is a form of education technology where learning takes place when the instructor and the learner are at different venues. According to Aljaraideh (2019), there are five suggested forms of distance learning. The five include; print technology, multimedia model, audio and video technology, Tele-learning model, flexible learning model, and online internet delivery model. However, of the five models, online delivery distance learning is the most efficient. Students register and take courses from higher educational institutions without necessarily having to be within the premises of the institution. Most universities and more senior learning education colleges offer online courses and deliver online curriculums. As the internet becomes more and…
Application of Cognitive Load Theory in Learning Introduction: Memory According to Blayney, Kalyuga and Sweller (2015), memory tends to play a vital function in nearly every human activity. For instance, it assists in the remembrance of every type of information including individual memories, automatic procedures and common knowledge amongst others, for either a shorter or a prolonged duration. Memory is considered to be vital in the development and creation of the human personality, as it acts as the direct witness of the human pasts, particularly with regards to the episodic memory, as well as the common knowledge which arises from semantic memory and history. This, therefore, makes memory to be amongst the most vital and important cognitive roles in an individual’s life. Moreover, the different types of memory have been acknowledge to be vital in the performance of diverse tasks. For instance, even as verbal memory enables the memorization of a sequence of words and the recalling of such words later, for others, the memorization of visual information is much easier compared to the memorization of verbal information. The visual…
Four-Phase Learning Process Learning in order to effectively and produce business results; the following four phases have to be followed: – Preparing the learner, plan and environment Guided learning Transferring and applying Achieving improvements Each Phase is important to help the participants to answer questions such as, “will I?” and “can I?”; it will result in the effectiveness of the learning initiative. The four phases are vital for increasing performance, executing the organization strategy and saves the firm training costs. Phase 1: Preparation The objective of Phase 1 is to arouse interest among the participants. The primary activities are:- preparing the learner Preparing the environment Preparing the learning plan The above primary activities can be summarized as follows:- Arousing the participants’ interests by encouraging them to ask questions to the trainer or among themselves. Through establishing better social environment and incorporating collaborative tasks. The participants should be encouraged to change their learning partners throughout the program. The participants should define the primary objective for attending the learning program. Removing the learning obstacles by requesting the participants to list them and…
Service-learning at Erie Home for Children and Adults My service learning for this semester was through a volunteer service I offered to Erie Homes for children Adults Inc. I requested the management for a volunteer opportunity, and i was granted the chance on (day and date). The facility offers care and support to people of ages who are living with all levels of disability. The home is more than a hundred years old; therefore, it has offered community services to disabled people of Erie and its outskirts for an extended period. Their services include therapeutic and medical support to all resident clients besides taking care of their social, recreational, work and other aspects of their lives. I was assigned to accompany one community caregiver in his duties of that day and any responsibility requested by the staff at the facility. Beyond that assignment, I made sure to interact with other staff to learn more about the activities and services within the facility as well as other areas where volunteering services could be useful. I was excited to have an opportunity…
The Autonomous Nature of Doctoral Learning All doctoral students need to be autonomous learners. An autonomous learner has the power and ability to not only regulate but also control all their learning activities. Learners gain autonomy when they can effectively identify their learning needs. Also, such learners set distinct learning goals that are solely meant to address the identified learning needs. It is also vital to note that autonomous learners adopt appropriate learning strategies and optimize in acquiring knowledge. Independent doctoral learners should continually evaluate their outcomes. Notably, autonomous learners are very disciplined, motivated, responsible, and persistent, to mention a few. Prior Doctoral Learning Experiences Prior to the doctoral learning experience, one may find himself or herself not in a position to identify their learning needs effectively. Second, before getting the doctoral learning experiences, individuals may use very few online sources while exploring their research studies. Having low self-efficacy is also a shared learning experience that students face before gaining their doctoral learning experiences. Doctoral Programs and Learning Skills Doctoral programs, as well as learning skills and strategies employed in…
