Public School Funding Education is key in today’s society. Since I have decided that I want to be a teacher, I have had to do numerous service hours in a public school in Leon county. Over the past few weeks, I have been to two different schools with two very different demographics. I was upset to see that the school that had a predominant minority population was more “run down” than the other. The paint was chipped in these schools’ hallways, books were falling apart, and students just weren’t supported by the faculty. However, in the school with a predominantly white population, I saw new books, freshly waxed floors, and staff who genuinely cared about the students. If education determines success, then how can we expect children to do their best if we don’t even give them the best education we can. All school needs better and equal funding. Lack of funding in schools includes the inability to invest in all the necessary resources for students. Where the state administration allows for privatization and chartered schools to take over the…
how informatics can be incorporated into health promotion programs The purpose of this executive brief paper is to identify how informatics can be incorporated into health promotion programs. Today our society uses technology, gaming and social media as a means to communicate and relate to one another. Numerous technological programs have been developed to target health promotion and disease prevention. In our contemporary Nursing practice we are challenged to tailor our educational programs to meet the demands of our technological society. We need to create culturally competent health promotion programs which are effective, timely, and reach the target audience. This project encourages you to identify a population of interest in your work site, or in your community, and begin to plan a program which proactively affects healthcare outcomes. For purposes of this paper you will not be required to enact the actual project, yet, research, plan, create, and outline the steps to completion. In the course webliography, and your textbooks you will find a vast array of organizations committed to providing health education tools for the practitioner, including technological interactive…
Lessons at the Kitchen Table Review Assuming In the article “Lessons at the kitchen table,” the author is assuming that the approach of paying immigrants visits in their home, will be sustainable (Ginsberg 2007, 56-62). While the approach helps give some basic understanding of the culture, values, knowledge, and understanding of a particular group, it is not possible to maintain the procedure. The number of immigrants in American schools continues to rise. That poses a challenge to schools that are constraint with resources and more especially the staff. The teacher-student ratio could only be appropriate in disseminating knowledge in a confined school environment. The schools have strict curricula to complete. Possibly, schools may be required to create time outside normal school hours to do the visits. That will mean extract costs for schools. Agreeing One important argument that I agree with the article is that American society continues to become more diverse each. In a classroom environment, that is causing a significant challenge. The current pedagogies may not be appropriate to all learners. The immigrants are drawn from different…
Involving the senior leaders in the implementation of the new retention schedule Thank you for posting an interesting and educational post. I agree with your perspective that senior leaders and the company lawyers should be involved in the implementation of a newly revised retention schedule. Involving the senior leaders in the implementation of the new retention schedule is critical as they may see a gap and formulate better retention policies that would make work easier. Additionally, I concur with your idea of advising the lawyer that only important documents should be kept for future reference, enabling sound decisions (Saffady 95). Further, making the lawyer know that it would be a liability keeping irrelevant records such as confidential data of a client that no longer requires the firm’s services. Maintaining a lot of information about former clients may be costly; hence, developing an effective policy of disposing of irrelevant information is necessary (Kilday, Dorman, Humby, Schrader, and Bailey, 2014). Allow me to ask, what are the advantages disposing of irrelevant information? References Kilday, R. W., Dorman, J. D., Humby, D., Schrader, F.,…
How I decided to study law At the start of college, like many other students I had doubts on what career I wished to pursue. Law had always been a focus of mine, being interested in politics and government at a young age. I always knew I wanted to do something that would benefit others directly or indirectly, whether it be through social justice, community building, government work etc. Lawyers have the ability to help others and are given opportunities to change society through diverse practices and cases, which is exactly why I wish to pursue a legal education. I want to attend Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law because of their devotion to advancing justice and serving societies changing needs as well as serving a diverse student body, which is something I value in an institution as a first generation college student and Latina woman. As mentioned earlier, a lawyers ability to help others and to change society is what made me what to pursue a legal education. Through my internships at the Queens District Attorney’s…

Privacy Laws Question 1 The consequences that pharmacy should face for breach of the HIPAA Act of 1996 vary depending on the circumstances of the violation. In this case, HHS may impose penalties of $100 per violation of a Privacy Rule requirement. The fine may not surpass $25,000 annually for infringement of the same privacy provision. HHS may fail to impose a fine under certain situations; for example, when noncompliance is due to reasonable cause, devoid of willful neglect, and the covered organization rectified the breach within 30 days of detecting the violation. In this case, therefore, the consequences that the pharmacy chain should face is a fine of $100 per violation of a privacy rule provision. Question 2 Yes. The law affords each person the right to identity, which protected under the right to identity. Urinary Tract Infection The Urinary tract infections are identified as the most prevalent infections in out-patient facilities. The rate is particularly higher amongst the elderly. Although some health practitioners take the necessary measures to contain the infections, the majority fails to play their parts. The paper presents four diversified pieces of research carried both in the home cares and the nursing home. Sophia Viner et al aimed at deriving a positive input of an education program in the intervention of Urinary tract infections. It concluded that the professionals need ample training to take additional measures in reducing UTI amongst the elderly. A similar observation is held by Anne-Marie Aziz displaying the vulnerability of the elderly in the care homes. It, however, goes ahead to call for education to patients on the need to take precautionary measures. Eventually, Paul Simpson’s research persuades health specialists to adopt hygiene in the catheterization procedures. They, as a result, ought to adhere to the manufacturers’ guidelines. Literature review The Effect of an Educational Intervention Sophia Viner et al identified urinary tract infections as prevalent amongst…
Traditional learning vs. Online Learning As technology advanced, so did the methods of learning and instructions. They have evolved drastically, and face to face learning is getting absolute. Today, students can decide whether to learn online or traditional look to face learning, depending on factors such as costs and convenience. In his essay, “The trouble with online courses,” Brenden Doyle examines the drawbacks of learning online compared to traditional face to face learning. Brendan lists down a number of arguments as to why we should stop online learning. While his arguments make sense, traditional education can still not surpass the benefit of learning online. I firmly believe that it has more advantages than its drawbacks than Brendon discusses. This paper compares and contrasts traditional learning with online courses. Online courses are flexible; this makes it even more convenient than traditional classes. It allows you to come up with a flexible schedule, unlike face to face learning where you don’t have a choice but to attend the classes. It will enable the students to take the course at any time when…
Factors affecting credibility of online degrees Introduction Following the request on how to determine the credibility of online degrees, a research was conducted and the results are posted on this memo. The research involves case studies that were carried out on two Arab countries. The study was carried out as a way of comparing if degrees earned online have the same value as degrees earned through physical class attendances. The research went further to determine the perceived disadvantage of the degree earned online compared to a physically attended degree. The Arab countries chosen were Egypt and Oman. Technology makes it possible for distance learning With the advancement of technology, many traditional universities have been seeking ways of conducting conventional and distant education at the same time. Many universities are now willing to offer off-campus programs for bachelor’s degree and master’s degree. Some of these universities have even engaged in collaborations that ensure the service of distant learning program has been executed in the best way possible. Cairo university in Egypt has partnered with British Open University to enable such a…
