Decision-making Decision-making formed a crucial part of planning and creation phases. For this reason, conflicts were bound to occur. In anticipation of such disputes, Ahmed was charged with the task of conflict arbitration. Firstly, there was an issue concerning which board game we will create. Most of the members felt that the top priority was to design an exciting game. However, the games that seemed highly interesting were difficult to develop and required a substantial amount of time. Therefore, others wanted the group to focus on an easier game. Charged with the responsibility of resolving disputes, Ahmed played a pivotal role in helping the members reach an agreement. Ahmed addressed the issue by outlining the priorities of the group rather than those of individuals. However, this problem required the intervention of Aleeyah, who was responsible for decision-making procedures. Aleeyah offered substantial assistance in addressing the conflict, particularly in arriving at the most appropriate decision. Undoubtedly, all members agreed that time was the most important factor. As such, the team decided to create Chat Your Way Home, which was more manageable. Another…
Demonstrating quality assurance in cases with limited resources The article entails research conducted through qualitative study to evaluate healthcare worker’s perception of organizational quality assurance programs that were implemented in a resource-limited setting. From my perspective, the study is essential since it helps in the evaluation of how member perceive the programs introduced. It is essential to evaluate the perception of the members and their views concerning an organizational quality assurance program. Further, the choice of measure while carrying out the study is convenient for this kind of study since it helps in carrying out convenient sampling, which makes it easier to collect the required data conveniently. The conclusion of the study is well informed and well stated where it goes to the extent of recommending what should be done in demonstrating quality assurance. If I were to carry out this study, I would combine both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather the required information. This would have allowed for a broader study, which entails a greater number of subjects as well as help in the enhancement of generalization…
Going to church in town Going to church in town is so different from the church back in Thurdibuoro, Nyandema, or Migori parish. Back there, the church is an occasion. It is a celebration to which unique clothes, character, and mannerisms are allocated. Bad behavior, such as breaking wind at random, is highly prohibited. Certain kinds of dressing are abhorred with venom; the congregation can send you to hell with their eyes. The priest is viewed as a god whose presence is divine. Well brought up Children with shiny black faces, dressed in glorious robes can be seen making their way to a separate shed that serves as the Sunday school. A form two dropout who was good at CRE takes them through their readings while correcting errant elements by rebuking them with the names of their parents. For instance, “omera son of Owinyo keep quiet, or else God will not send birds to the traps of your father, iiiisi!” Here in the city mass is very dull except for the perennial latecomer slay queen dressed in short skirt clanking…
Parent and physician attitudes regarding electronic communication Kleiner, K. D., Akers, R., Burke, B. L., & Werner, E. J. (2002). Parent and physician attitudes regarding electronic communication in pediatric practices. Pediatrics, 109(5), 740-744. Can the participants in this study be considered random samples? Why or why not? The parties in this study cannot be considered random samples. Every object has a similar probability of being selected with no bias according to the simple random sampling principle. The participants in this study are there because they have sick children who may need specialists for their medical conditions. The participants are a convenience sample; participation in the study was based on availability at the time of the survey. Table 1 provides frequency distribution tables for several variables (e.g., ethnicity, education, annual income). By “eyeballing” the charts, what general differences can you identify between individuals from general pediatric (GP) offices and those from specialty pediatric (SP) offices? From the frequency distribution tables, there are minor demographic differences in the annual family income and the parental age. Specialty pediatric office parents had a higher…
The Not So Great Gatsby: The Downfall of Jay Gatsby Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby was released in 1925 and depicts the illusion of the American Dream at the time when the country was going through the Great Depression. Fitzgerald’s story is a depiction of crash and burn. It is a dysfunctional love tale that does not have a happy ending, with characters serving their selfish interest slowly making their way to a finale full of broken promises, shattered dreams, wasted sacrifice, abandonment, and death. The story focuses on Jay Gatsby as he moves across the social classes in the search of his American dream. The protagonist’s greatness lies within his illusions and his determination to grasp it which ultimately led to his down fall. Ever since he was a child, Gatsby was always keen on greatness. Gatsby originates from North Dakota. In the initial chapters of the novel, Gatsby is described as a dream who is gracious, charming, and somewhat mysterious. As the tale moves on, however, the audience increasingly learns what induces the mystery; everything that Gatsby has…
Suffering of Indians and their survival throughout the changes in the United States Hi Nikki Ponticelli, I enjoyed reading your post. Russel Means strongly reveals the suffering of Indians and their survival throughout the changes that the United States made, especially for the Indian population. The US administration ignored the set laws and compelled the Indians to leave their land. The United States government sidelined the Indians, especially in the education sector, and the adoption of anticapitalistic policies to disrupt the financial stability that Indians struggled to build. The Indians also suffered from relocation laws that forced them to move to the urban centers and adverse experiences in poor education, unemployment, and lack of treaty rights.
Testing the indoor air quality of houses I would like to take this opportunity to write about the houses in Butte, which the MT tested their indoor air quality. The three houses of Both Smith, Jim Doe, and Jane Doe were all tested at different places. Jane Doe was tested at 1200 W Washington, Jim Doe at 1200S Park, and Bob Smith at 1300W Washington. The three individuals had their houses tested for carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, 2.5-micron particulate matter, and radon. The samples were also scheduled at the different times of the day, whereby Jim’s sample was scheduled at noon, Jane Doe, at 2:00 p.m and Bob Smith at 10:00 a.m. The tests were taken as a way of giving precautions to the people about the qualities of air in their homes with the mentioned substances that are harmful to their health. The air that contains the traces of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide can replace the oxygen in the air hence causing the difficulties in breathing. Radon is said to be carcinogenic, and the particulate matter can cause…
The life of Von Good afternoon everyone. We are gathered here today to celebrate the life of Von, who left us very suddenly and shockingly. It is a difficult day for each one of us who loved him and aches with his passing. Von was the kind of friend who would always lend a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen. Von has gone home now, guided by his unwavering faith and by the light of the lives of everyone who loved him. As we read Von’s eulogy with deep sadness in our hearts, let us all feel honored and special for knowing the amazing person that Von was. One of the standout qualities of Von was his strong set of values, which he held himself accountable. In particular, he prided herself on being honest and standing for what was right, which was always refreshing to everyone who knew him. As we mourn the passing of Von, we must also take heart knowing he lived a full life. In the few years we have shared with Von, we…
Leadership in the health system Leadership is a crucial part of the health system, and a nurse should be given the mandate to serve in decision making and make the necessary adjustment to improve the health of the patients, an example is a woman with difficulties of having labor the nurse should make a decision of inducing the labor to help the woman bring the kid and avoid unnecessary complication. Quality improved activity includes engagements consisting of empathy for an HIV/AID patient who felt so isolated and teaching him on how to deal with stigma and live the normal life without being depressed. Self-assessment is the best way for evaluation where one reflects on his/her accomplishments, the mistakes, and the set goals if he or she has achieved the set goals and objectives. Skills are majorly learned in class, but seminars are also attended, where nurses are taught on what to do in a specific occasion and how to deal with certain patients suffering from pandemics. A nurse helped the new students who were undergoing clinical integration practice to learn…
Conceptual challenges Lay, D. P. & De La Hunt, J. (1985). The Bail Reform Act of 1984: A Discussion. William Mitchell Law Review, 11(4), 930-954. Retrieved from https://open.mitchellhamline.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2570&context=wmlr Bail is a fundamental aspect of any justice system. Consequently, various scholars have studied its history and impact on the dispensation of justice. Such scholars include Lay and De La Hunt (1985). According to Lay and De La Hunt (1985), the Bail Reform Act of 1984 marked a fundamental change in the federal bail system in the country. Nevertheless, the two authors assert that it is vital to evaluate the law’s background to understand the contextual reasons for its passage.. The precursor to the 1984 law was the Bail Reform Act of 1966. The former law came into force following the recommendations of the Vera Institute under the Manhattan Bail Project in 1961 (Lay & De La Hunt, 1985). The 1966 law set the precedent that if a judge had access to some verified information on an accused person, then they could decide on whether such a person could be released before…
