Subject: APPRECIATION FOR YOUR TEACHINGS I thank you for teaching me that ancient Athens had massive contributions about life which I perceive and draw conclusions about myself. It is imminent that you were at the forefront of convicting Socrates of their hypocrisy in supporting religious unorthodoxy that also brought about political consequences. It is connected to the scandals involved with demolishing Athenian democracy that caused a general amnesty. I learn from this that Socrates changed his behavior that he had been used to cover his lifestyle, which made even his ardent supporters oblige to him. During those days, trials were done based on an emphasis on all prejudices about the accused. Socrates was charged following this whereby the opponents referred their case to Alcibiades, Critias, Charmides, his admirers and were enemies to Athens and all these accusations lacked a legal judge who could confront and prevent this. Socrates had many accusations like the one associated with having opposed impiety and the one that was also about corruption of the young. The jury in this court case associated themselves with…
A leadership experience where I influenced others positively, assisted in resolving conflicts or participated in group efforts For three years now, I have actively volunteered as a coordinator in a community initiative whose purpose is to assist those in need, particularly children, with resources such as clothes, school fees, and food. One of my duties is to make decisions on the kind and extent of assistance that any particular vulnerable child required. I then forward my evaluation to the authorities of the program to approve and take action. My work as a coordinator has elicited satisfaction among every stakeholder and retention. For example, the administrators of the program have tended to hail me for making their work of running the initiative easier. They usually state that my analytical skills have helped them to ensure that the provision of assistance to the needy is well balanced and optimal. Besides, due to my leadership acts as a coordinator, teenagers who would otherwise resort to crime as a way of meeting their daily life need have led a good cause. Furthermore, my work…

David’s Oath of the Horatii and Raphael’s School of Athens The Renaissance was a cultural and intellectual movement that started in the 14th century in Italy and lasted for over two centuries, from 1350 to 1550. The Renaissance was a period of recovery from the Middle Ages and particularly all the disasters linked to the Black Death, social, economic, and political crises. From the fifteenth century, significant changes in art, literature, religion, and music wrecked the system of medieval values (Pohl 75). The period of Enlightenment also created significant changes throughout Europe. The origin of the Enlightenment period is closely related to France and its theorists, such as Rousseau. It was a period of reevaluation of all aspects of life, and many intellectuals examined the various aspects of life through the application of scientific methods to their reasoning. During these two periods, many artists attempted to present new works of art to the world, for example, the School of Athens by Raphael and Oath of Horatii by David. In the School of Athens, Raphael portrays a hall influenced by Roman…

My Experience at the Penrose Recreation Center The Penrose Recreation Centre is an institution set up for children between the ages of 8-12 who come from poor backgrounds so that they can have a program after school where they can experience the resources they cannot access while at their homes. The primary purpose of the facility is to provide a space where the kids can be active in a safe and comprehensive environment. The place also provides a positive atmosphere which improves the emotional and psychological wellbeing of the children and saves them the cost of these social services from outside the centre. The recreation centre is located in Susquehanna Ave, Philadelphia. The facility often hosts multiple community events for children so that they can feel like a part of something in their community and grow up in a quiet space surrounded by counsellors and volunteers who can steer them in the right direction. It provides facilities such as ball fields and courts, playgrounds, a park, a swimming pool, computer labs, historical and cultural attractions, a golf course as well…
