Why the Byzantine Empire Lasted for so Long Introduction The Byzantine Empire, which was on the eastern side of the Roman Empire, lasted for about a thousand years, which is twice as long as its well-known Western counterpart, but very little is known about it. The Romans, by the 3rd century AD, had conquered different territories in North Africa, Southwestern Europe, and the Mediterranean. The eastern half, where the Byzantine Empire was located, was less vulnerable to attacks from outside, and this was mainly due to its geographic location. Constantinople was positioned on a strait, which made it very difficult for any attackers to break the capital’s defense. Also, Byzantine had a small common frontier with Europe. Byzantine Empire also lasted for so long due to a strong administrative center, great wealth, and the political stability in the Empire compared to other states that existed during the early medieval era. Emperors in the Byzantine Empire had the power and knowledge to control the territory’s economic resources and could be able to effectively assemble and organize enough manpower to guard…
Education is Still Essential to Success Education is indeed the key to success for most people. Almost all of the successful people one knows are educated. These include doctors, lawyers, politicians, and even athletes. People understand the value of education, and that is why they invest so much in it. A good education makes one better at problem-solving, thus setting him or her up for success. It also imbues one with the confidence and personality to impose their will on and dominate others. Institutions of higher education also provide excellent networking opportunities. For people who are not born in privilege, education is indeed the key to success. Getting Educated One of the most important things an education does is to elevate one’s level of thinking by provoking him or her to consider increasingly complex and nuanced problems (Bosman & Fernhaber, 2018). When one is in school, his or her mental engagement increases at a largely predictable pace. For example, there is a mountain of difference between high school education and elementary schooling. The higher one goes, the more complex things…

My Educational Philosophy I believe that every child who is going through an educative process should be allowed to participate in their learning actively. I also believe that children should be availed of opportunities for self-expression according to their abilities. With this in mind, I plan to create an environment that children will find stimulating. This should allow them to participate in the learning process actively. I would rather have my students discover things actively than repeat information and expect them to memorize it. I intend to make my classroom a safe space where creativity is appreciated and new ideas are developed. Furthermore, I will be welcoming to students and their families by encouraging constructive conversations and interactions. I know that children are capable of critical thinking, and my role as a teacher is to guide them on how to use this ability. To achieve this, I intend to encourage children to initiate learning activities. I hope to challenge them to think critically with open-ended questions and challenging material. I think teaching provides numerous opportunities to learn and grow for…

Ethical Challenges in Healthcare Introduction Healthcare established in the current century operate under a complex web of rules and regulations that focus on the provision of quality and safe services to ensure quality patient outcome. One of these rules is the affordable care Act, whose intent is to increase access to insurance, ensure that patients achieve quality health services, strengthen consumer protections, and increase access to healthcare services. However, the ACA is associated with a couple of ethical challenges as health practitioners try to make the most even with strict restrictions. This paper will address the ACA provisions, ethical problems associated with it, how practitioners should address these conflicts. The affordable care act The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), commonly known as Obamacare, is a health reform signed and implemented in March 2010 by Former president Barak Obama. The reform focuses on expanding Medicaid eligibility. With ACA, children remained covered by their parent’s insurance up to the age of 26. It also narrowed the chances of insurance companies denying insurance, making more people more insured. It aims at…
The evidence-based problem PICOT question: In adults intubated patients at the intensive care unit (ICU), is Nurses’ Knowledge regarding their hospitals’ requirements for assessment and accommodation more useful in relative to acquired impaired communication? Nurses have shown plenty of challenges during the decision-making process when accommodating and assessing patients who are intubated. Patients who are intubated are placed on a ventilator gadget to help them with breathing when illness conditions get severe. The Knowledge of Nursing should be taken up to assist other health experts during the assessment and in making options for accommodation (Haljamăe et al., 2003). Over a prolonged period, acquired communications use has been a replacement for the input of nursing on the decision making process for the management of patients. Patients who are intubated are those in the ICU intensive care unit. At many times, they require an assessment of their airways to be able to fathom their accommodation procedures and needs to be expected. In relevance to Simpson et al. (2012), the Intensive care unit environment isn’t very favorable for the management of complicated airway…
Enhancing Learning As a teacher, there is something that I have learned over the years. One of the critical things is that one needs to come up with interactive sessions. It is not often right for the teacher to keep on using the old methods in teachings. The class will be boring, and the students will not follow what you are saying. Technology has advanced, and there is a need to come up with a new learning system that is in line with advanced technology (Kagan, 2009). In this case, I have decided that I will enhance an original method with my preschool class to improve their development. The resources, in this case, will be used to bring about equity among the children. The children will learn how to share and work with each other. Children that are brought up in the right manner are likely to develop hence creating a better relationship with each other and advancing in their grades. The source that I have chosen is all about equity. It will help enhance children from ages 3 to…
