Theory of self-concept Each of us has different personalities, attributes, strengths, and desires that we often fail to understand what is happening within us. While we may not be able to explain precisely why we think this way, or why we act in this way, the theory of self-concept is an excellent basic knowledge about the relevance of our experiences to our personal life. Self-concept is the totality of our values, desires, thoughts, and attitudes toward our personal life structured systematically. In other words, this is how we think about ourselves and how we should perceive, behave, and carry out our various roles in life. It organizes all that we believe we are, what we think we can do, and how best we think we can do it. According to Gordon et al. (2017), several factors can influence your self-concept. These factors can either be internal or external sources. Internal factors include what you perceive about yourself and others, what you put a lot of concentration on, how you interpret events and circumstances that occur in your life, how…

Volume as organisation theory Volume two is majorly about the organization and administration of universities and colleges with the application of organizational theory. It outlines how administrators may use this theory to assist them in making sense of the rapidly changing external environment and internal conditions and offer directions for action. The volume argues that while multiple features of organizations have remained unchanged for many years, civilization has presented various problems that are not answered by old theories. The volume covers an in-depth discussion of post-modernism, which offers the understanding that prior notions or consensus were mistaken and must be replaced with new perspectives that consider various epistemological premises that are more relevant to the society. The volume also points out that a multifaceted approach to solving problems in the organization can be made to more effective by relying on more than one theory. The volume offers administrators and leaders with pattern recognition modes that make situations which may appear challenging to be more navigable. The volume also talks about decision making in higher institutions, which as described in the…
Sleeping patterns on school-going children Sleep is essential, regular sleeping patterns, for that matter. Medical reports have documented that enough sleep boosts the body’s immunity, hence overall health, besides improving an individual’s levels of productivity. How does sleep contribute to a student’s success in their academics? Is there a correlation, either direct or indirect? The three articles used for this research have immensely contributed and deeply engaged my topic of research, the effects of sleeping habits on teenagers’ success academically.
