FAT CITY Video Analysis Introduction In the video “F.A. T CITY: A look back, a look ahead – a conversation about special education,” Richard D. Lavoie discuses suggestions and concerns about the education system concerning the students with learning disabilities. The analysis looks at some key factors being discussed in the video. “What is fairness and how it looks in the classroom,” “why does Lavoie say about assumptions concerning the students” and “particularly the key concepts that are particularly meaningful.” These are some of the questions that will be discussed in the paper. Question 1. Using Richard D. Lavoie’s definition, he, therefore, defines fairness as “everyone gets what he or she needs.” He meant that one student in each classroom might have only three sheets based on the homework, while another student may get six sheets of the homework, according to Richard Lavoie. However, the student having six sheets of homework shall be challenged and also the one with three sheets. If the student having three sheets essentially has six sheets to handle, it perhaps might have discouraged them as…
After my high school graduation After my high school graduation, it took me quite some time to decide to pursue a degree in public safety administration. I had even to spend the first year of my undergraduate studies to gain satisfaction and steer my way towards my academic goals. Initially, several areas of study appealed to me, but I always wanted to be a lawyer. I was always bothered by small things from the trivial unfairness like my sister undeservedly being handed the most significant piece of cake to the atrocities going on in the world, and this always gave me the urge to stand up against this acts of injustice and inequality. It took me a lot of time of indecision before actually deciding to settle for my current career path. The introductory classes, no doubt, played a significant role in shaping my perspective. The dynamic nature and the diversity of various careers were taught in these classes, and needless to say, they came in handy. They widened my perspective on multiple career paths and helped me understand myself…

Informal learning in a workplace context Context-based learning is the use of real-life situation examples in the teaching environment to educate through actual and practical experiences rather than just using the theoretical parts of learning while workplace learning is the site of different intersecting interests, different contested ideas and multiple forms of writing and rapidly evolving practice. Informal learning is the kind of learning that happens through experience and is self-directed, has no prior set objectives and it’s not limited to any predefined body of knowledge. In a workplace context, informal learning occurs through everyday employees’ conversations, social interaction, and teamwork and even through mentoring. Everyday activities in the workplace bring actual experiences to the people in the surrounding and give them an opportunity to learn in a way that we can say is informal. Higher Education Cost Higher education is essential to both the developing and the developed countries. College, professional and graduate schools are currently expensive than ever. The cost of higher education has risen by 540% since the year 1985. Interpreting the percentage means that the price for higher education is currently 4.5 times higher as compared to about 30 years ago. An increment in the value of higher education is attributed to the fact that the demand for higher education is high while the institutions offering t higher learning are few. The rise of the higher education cost is a great challenge worldwide. Qualified talented students can miss a chance to join the institution for higher learning if they cannot afford the tuition fees hence resulting in the killing of great talents within some of our youths. Third world countries find themselves in a complicated situation because it’s tough for the government to finance higher education systems and hence causing the higher learning institutions to the cost per student to high figures. A study carried out by Abraham(1998)showed that the money…
Higher Education Higher education is an optional formal stage of education delivered by colleges and universities. Higher education includes teaching and research activities where students acquire professional skills. Since the second world war, countries have increased higher learning institutions to create more opportunities for professional training. Economic, social, and political factors have contributed to the evolution of higher education since its establishment. After the war, most European nations decided to establish higher learning institutions to enhance their technology through advanced training. The nations realized that they needed skills in planes, breaking of codes and bombs. The involved countries learned from the second world war that power belongs to the nations with advanced technology.…

Introduction The current world is characterized by increased use of technology which is influencing almost every aspect of our lives. Technology has made things to become easier, and it has also increased efficiency on how operations are carried out both at home and in the workplace (Rodriguez, 2011). In a nutshell, technology has influenced almost every part of life, and it has become part of us, and we cannot do without it. Notably, technology has significantly changed the mode of communication and the form of interaction among people, mainly through mobile phones, e-mails and the use of social media platforms to interact with one another (Drago, 2015).
