Learning outcomes from medical field experiences Learning outcomes from medical field experiences promote the critical reflection of health professionals. From various lessons I learned, I have acquired essential skills and knowledge on how to provide quality care and service to patients in the future to satisfy their needs. My engagement with patients in my community, I learned that it is appropriate to understand and appreciate ones’ culture. Through civic engagement, I improved my relationship with the community people, hence acquired leadership skills. The skills will help me work efficiently with local people, administration, patients, and healthy ones, with fewer challenges. During my field practice, I acquired different communication skills. I understood that when the communication process is effective and efficient, it is easier to provide services to patients and achieve institutional goals. Also, I learned that it is essential for health professionals to communicate with each other while treating specific patients. I improved my creativity and innovation skills, particularly on digital literacy and advanced technology. The competencies helped me design new systems necessary in minimizing missed appointments by reminding patients…
case study on leadership and ethics problems Problem The case study presents several leadership and ethics problems that could potentially bring the healthcare services provider down. The first ethics problem is financial dishonesty whereby the company’s financial department has been colluding with external parties to siphon revenues from the organization. Additionally, these unscrupulous employees have corrupted the financial reporting and auditing framework such that reporting these misdeeds is a problem. These actions by the financial and administrative teams are tantamount to corruption and fraud. The second ethical issues plaguing the healthcare services provider is malpractice. Since the United States government had been providing health insurance for its citizens, many health services providers have taken advantage of these services through insurance fraud (Bass & Steidlmeier, 1999). HealthSouth, the company under scrutiny, had in the past been in trouble for overcharging Medicaid for health equipment meaning the insurance companies and government funds would cater to these overcharged costs. The results are that the company owner or other senior executives would pocket these extra costs in a severe instance of insurance fraud. Therefore,…
Macroeconomics School of Thought Monetarism is a school of thought that emphasizes the role of the government in controlling money that is in circulation. The theory carries the belief that variations in the supply of money will have an influence on the national output as well as on the price levels over longer periods. The monetary school of thought believes that the objectives of the monetary policy can best be achieved by targeting the growth rate of the money supply instead of engaging in discretionary monetary policy (Akram-Lodhi 13).The monetary policy focuses on the effects of money supply and central banking on the macro economy and at the same time, it argues that excessive expansion of money supply serves inflation purposes and it also argues on the importance of maintaining the stability of prices in the market. The monetarist model is based on the base of solid micro foundations for institutions that facilitate the process of exchange. Monetarism encompasses a body of research that focuses on the monetary theory as well as the monetary policy as well as major fundamental…
Personal literacy journey Four years of my English studies at Donholm college amounts to eight semesters. The sequence of my progressive development in writing skills vividly unfolds in my mind as I sit down to answer the questions of what the four years depict to my journey in writing. My initial composition was obstinate to particular topics that I was conversant with besides being proficient. Much of Donholm’s tasks, however, involved working around complex ideas that I didn’t have even the slightest idea. The development of a plot would be interrupted by eventual breaks. The write up would then start with a jot of a rough idea whose content would crop up my mind while off the assignment desk. Leaks would come up in momentum between slip and slide, sip and swallow, stick and lacerate. A few of the shocking contemplations would get out of hand even before I note them down; others would support my piece work. Definitively Donholm English office has not exclusively been a notional wellspring of humiliation yet more significantly a wellspring of fundamental sustenance for…

A summary of Iwasaki & Ono paper on Ikema: six factors that have affected the current language situation in Ikema Education One of the factors that have affected the current language situation in Ikema is the existence of standardized education. The factor has made it difficult for young people to speak minority languages fluently[1]. With standardized education, it is difficult to promote the current language situation in Ikema, since minority languages cannot be integrated into the mainstream educational system, making it difficult for young people to learn the languages. Majority of the people who entered elementary school in the nineteen sixties can speak Ikema and other minority languages fluently since they were more exposed to the language. The standardization of education has made Japanese be the official language of education. The fact has endangered the likelihood of young people to speak Ikema and other minority languages[2]. Media The other factor affecting the current language situation in Ikema has been the media. The prominence of television has endangered minority languages in the Okinawa Island, and Japan as a whole[3]. The introduction…
PIQUA CHEMICAL CORP CASE STUDY Based on the Business dictionary, a stakeholder has been defined as a group, single person or organism or any other organization which has interest or can be linked to an organization directly or indirectly. In accordance to the case scenario of R&D division of Piqua Chemical Corp. (Harrison & John, 2014), it is beyond reasonable doubt that we have “stakeholders” and not “stakeholder”. Many parties will be affected by the actions of this corporation directly and others indirectly. Back to the Business dictionary, some stakeholders also affect or are affected by the business actions, policies and objectives hence in this case government fit in as one of the stakeholders (Harrison & John, 2014). Piqua Chemical Corp and Finlay Inc. are the direct stakeholders considering the fact that they are the ones behind the project. They will be responsible of organizing and making decisions based on how the project will be executed. This includes the people who are to carry out the spraying activities. In addition to these two organizations, people who will be…
Struggles that Deaf people have BOOK 1 Supporting points This book is one that shows the struggle that Deaf people have had and the effort they are willing to make themselves heard in a world that is full of hearing people. This book is a reflection of a protest for “deafhood” and its rights. This book incorporates the works of great scholars in the Deaf Studies and puts their work into a platform of talking to each other. This means that it shines a light on many controversial issues that were present in the time of the protests and continue to affect the Deaf community today. Thoughts These scholars are seen to provide varying answers to may provocative questions from the boundaries to Deaf identity and the field covers. How do they relate with others and themselves in terms of gender, class, family, race, and national identity? How do they relate to their disability? What form of activism do they pursue in their bid to have their voices heard? The two chapters open interesting and engaging lines of questioning that…
Women Representation in Elected Politics in Canada Canada, as a nation, falls short when it comes to women’s representation in federal politics. Currently, the women representation in the parliament is very low, with only 27% of the members being female. In addition, Canada is currently ranked 62nd in the world when women representation is compared. Countries like Nicaragua, Belarus, and Kazakhstan are currently ahead of Canada when comparisons of women representation are made. There is no political parity in Canada. Like in most countries, many political positions are occupied by men. However, this does not mean that Canadian women are not interested or unwilling to participate in politics. Women in Canada experience stubborn and long-standing barriers that create difficulties for them to engage and stay in politics. Some women who contemplated running for certain positions have reported that they are strongly impacted by the costs and benefits they expect from a candidacy. The following paper delineates the barriers to women’s representation in elected politics in Canada. Barriers to Women Representation in Elected Politics in Canada Violence against Women MPs in…
LEARNING DISABILITY The provision of psychotherapy for people with learning disabilities needs to address not only common mental health problems and emotional needs in this population, but also the very particular issues of impairment, disability and handicap. These issues may be the main focus of therapy, psychological disturbance or distress being seen as secondary to the trauma and developmental impact of disability for the client and their family or carers. For psychotherapies to be effectively delivered to this group, established models of therapy can be modified to accommodate differences in intellectual ability and the particular issues of the disabled individual that affect not only the content but also the process of therapy. Rigid adherence to established models of psychotherapy and its delivery can effectively exclude people with learning disabilities from receiving appropriate treatment. The particular issues for therapy for people with learning disabilities may require specific training and supervision. Generic psychotherapy training is unlikely, at present, to equip a therapist to be able to work with these issues without some additional training in learning disabilities. ‘Top-up’ training in learning disability…
