Rhetorical Analysis on Surviving High School article The article “Surviving High School” by Tom Junod published in Atlanta Magazine is an example of a successful piece of writing in terms of the use of rhetorical strategies and the clarity of the development of ideas. The author seems to provide a valid criticism of the high school education system in the United States. However, despite the simple still intriguing title of the article, the content of the article is deeper than the mere reconsideration of the role of higher education in the life of the students. While the author refers to the overestimated value of higher education as a tool for achieving success and gaining better future, the author also tends to emphasize that the substantial part of the fault results from the people themselves. As indicated by the example, those people are either those are the individuals who are too weak to overcome their problems or the parents who tend to believe that their children can grow up on their own. Referring to the article and its author, the ethos…
Aggression Behaviors among Preschool Children in Communication Professional Interest The research question assesses why preschool children use aggression when communicating with others. It relates to my specialization and professional interests because children’s aggressive behaviors are linked with their social-psychological changes and development, which caregivers, teachers, or parents should be concerned about. Aggression among young, preschool children may contribute to adverse sociological and psychological impacts, which could result in harassment, trauma, and bullying in school. Therefore, as a professional psychology specialist, this research question is crucial when it comes to psychological development or changes in early childhood development. Also, the topic is essential in assessing various programs, policies, and interventions that need to be implemented to mitigate long-term incidences of aggression among children and its adverse impacts on their development. Most development in both social-emotional and cognitive domains usually occurs during early childhood, where preschool children develop sophisticated verbal skills, goal-directed behaviors, and self-awareness. Keywords Some of the keywords used for conducting searches in the scholarly databases include Aggression, Verbal Communication, Preschool Child, Risk Factors, and Predictors. The reasons…

Literature Review: Social Work Leadership in Schools School social workers are great assets to school communities. They provide links between students, educators, parents and school districts. Also, they take on many roles including student mediators, case managers, student advocates, and counselors. Typically, they serve important and unique roles. Not all schools have social workers. However, they are becoming more common as more students find comfort in talking about their everyday life problems. As leaders, social workers play crucial roles in promoting students’ social-emotional learning and improving schools’ overall climates. In (2011), Laura Hopson’s and Hal Lawson’s authored the article “Social Workers Leadership for Positive School Climates via Data-Informed Planning and Decision-Making” to examine the roles of social work leadership in creating positive school climates. From their perspective, social work policy interventions such as the No Child Left Behind Act are important to improving student results. These legislation and policy interventions influence the design and implementation of programs that promote school climates. In their consideration, data-driven decision making is crucial to achieving positive school climates. They argue that data-driven decision making…
effectiveness of school-based strategies Evaluation During the study, parents will be issued with questionnaires that they will answer electronically while the students will take physical questionnaires that will be close-ended. The responses of the parents and kids will be given to the primary care physicians and nurses. The physicians and nurses will evaluate the data to determine the attitudes of the parents and children towards using school-based strategies to manage obesity in children. The weight of the patients before the intervention was implemented will be compared with the current weight to determine if the twelve months of school-based strategies were valid. The evaluation of the feedback of the patients will involve the collaboration of several stakeholders, such as nurses, physicians, dieticians, and counselors. The objective of the project was to investigate the effectiveness of school-based strategies to help obese children reduce their weight. The initial data will involve the investigation of the current strategy being used to help children lose their weight and their efficiency. The validity of the strategy will be determined by a decrease in weight, reduced waist…

The discussion when Anya sympathized with Emily The first time I started to see Anya as sympathetic was when Emily told her what happened to her and how she was killed. She portrayed to Anya that she was actually murdered, and chase by the person who killed her family to the well, which she fell inside. Emily was too crushed to be able to call out for help, which led her to die in the well. Once Anya heard this, she was sympathetic to Emily and ended up becoming friends with her. She started to respect all the things Emily did for her before she found out Emily was lying and became dangerous. Anya being sympathetic really shows in the frames on page 92. Anya is frustrating as well because she thinks she wants one thing but then changes her mind on what she originally wants. She is also a moody teenager and does not act like she cares about her family unless she is trying to save them from Emily, which she does at the end of the book.…

Against School Education systems all over the world have not been up to the standard. The standard here does not refer to the attainment of the set key performance indicators, rather the developmental changes that education should instill in human behavior. America’s education system, to be specific, has been criticized for discouraging creativity and individuality among students. This is true because such an education system does not evoke the students’ competencies as a result of a rigid curriculum and standardized testing. Students are made to believe that it is only through education that they can make it in life. The grading system makes students focus on grades rather than the outcome of classwork. This is why students have to be imprisoned in twelve long years of secondary education. Experience and examples throughout the world prove that short school time can also help produce experts, especially if the talent is considered; hence the American system is not as necessary. This argument can be justified by the rule on natural selection and interdependence whereby every child should grow to pursue their…
