suitable strategy for General Motors Executive Summary The study is about the identification of a suitable strategy for General Motors to improve its market share. Analysis of the current company situation shows the company has faced an increased decline in market share over the past two decades. The case study of the external environment of General Motors uses of PESTEL framework and Porter’s 5 Forces. The analysis establishes that the main drivers for the company to consider in implementing a proper strategic direction are competition and technology. General Motors faces increased competition from regional and local firms. Similarly, improved technology offers both opportunities and threats to the success of the company. In this case, a suitable choice to facilitate the regaining of the largest global market share in the auto industry is cost leadership strategy. The company obtains this strategy from the analysis of Porter’s Generic model. The suggested approach is applicable because the company deals with a large number of vehicles that have little differentiation. The strategic implementation of the cost leadership would apply the McKinsey 7s framework. …
Global issues My name is Tania, and I live in Australia. I work in the finance department and my day to day job revolves around assisting large institutions in raising funds based on the strength of their credibility and reputation in the public bonds market. My work is integrated with the global issues because, although bonds may seem like an unlikely instrument in saving the world, green bonds serve a purpose in mobilizing resources from domestic and international markets for climate change adaptation, renewable, and other environment-friendly projects. Furthermore, bonds are at the core of the market system. The bond market provides the participants with the issuance and trading debt securities. The goal of a bond market is to provide long-term financial aid and funding for public and private projects as well as expenditures. Green bonds offer the same except for this case; resources get used for climate and environment projects. Besides, the debt capital markets have turned into a more exciting place in particular. Thanks to companies that are committed to tackling climate change, to a growing awareness of…

sociopolitical and ethical legal impacts Silent springs was an equally brilliant and controversial book authored by Rachel Carson. The book was excellent because it addressed a significantly sensitive and crucial environmental issue that affected a vast majority. The book, however, drew controversy from the fact that a scientist authored it at the time scientists were not permitted to write books. Miss Rachel Carson set a record as the maiden female biologist to work for the United States Bureau of Fisheries, the then equivalent of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Carson, chapter by chapter, thoroughly addresses the issue of pesticide contamination, arguing that every individual is exposed to hazardous chemicals. Rachel started researching for the silent springs in the late 1950s, and it took over five years for the book to be published. The essay discusses the sociopolitical and ethical legal impacts of the author’s thesis using current evidence.
