Supplemental Assessment Strategies The intake interview is the most efficient assessment tool accessible by the clinicians who work with children as well as their families. It is during the intake interview that clinicians know the child and their families. It is during the interview that clinicians get in contact with most of the crucial personalities in a child’s life. The intake interview takes a long time and can be tedious to a care provider who is new. Nevertheless, given enough time clinicians can collect the information that is required; they can be assured that the task is doable. To be adequately prepared for every family, clinicians can give child intake forms to the parents before the intake interview is arranged. The intake forms need to give the clinician a history of each child’s life in the current and as well as previous family. The intake forms topics include preferred name or nickname, age and date of birthmother’s pregnancy and delivery, other families and living arrangements among others. Before the start of an intake interview, clinicians need to identify what…
Comparison between the mutant phenotypes of Drosophila Melanogaster Abstract The purpose of this lab report is to outline the comparison between the mutant phenotypes of Drosophila Melanogaster, commonly known as Fruitfly to phenotypes of the Wild-type flies. In this experiment, the phenotypes are compared in the resulting F1 and F2 generations. The F1 and F2 were used in generating the two mutants that were used in setting up the parental cross; hence the appropriate phenotypic ratios were used. In the F1 generation, the white eye mutant was identified on the male fruit fly. In the subsequent F2 generation, there was newly identified mutant in both male and female in which two distinct phenotypes, the white eye mutant were observed again. Prediction of this outcome had much to do with the result which was created by setting up white-eyed males and wild type females Introduction The fruit fly, commonly known as Drosophila melanogaster, is an organism that is frequently used in studying different biological processes such as inheritance and genetics. The use of this organism has various advantages in that it…
Humans are the major cause of Global Warming There is no denying too much of anything can turn something bad. The same is relevant for our environment today with the over production in C02.The constant increase in concentration of greenhouse gases causes Earth climate to overheat as technology and population increases in production. This causes areas to experience extreme weather events such as hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires for example. The radical change in climate will also cause sea levels to rise. This will create a population disposition, property damage, and degrade the ecosystems and natural resources. Many have made accusations that the heating of earth is natural, which is true however, human activity has contributed a tremendous amount of pollution that has contaminated the natural production of greenhouse gases. If this carries on it will cause problems in the ecosystem. Climate change has become a severe problem due to humans and their excessive burning of fossil fuels, releasing large quantity of carbon pollution and continuous deforestation. Climate change is a long term regional, even global average of temperature, rainfall patterns…
Poultry pollution Introduction Poultry farming has been in an increase to meet the high demand for poultry products. The farming has been accompanied by the poultry structures for housing and rearing. Intensification of poultry operations has been evident by the concentration of farming centers. This shifting technology towards poultry farming is driven by the market demand, economies of scale which, are necessitated by innovation. The high demand for both poultry meat and eggs means increased production to meet the demand. Therefore, the intensified poultry farming which is in large scale has an impact on the environment. This requires a thorough assessment of the environmental impacts from the production of the poultry feed, marketing, and waste disposal. For a clean environment to be attained, there are guidelines in locating poultry structures which should be followed. To site a new poultry farm, it is located 500M away from other poultry farms and other livestock structures. It should also be located 100M away from water course and natural water bodies and 10M from public roads. The structures should be well ventilated to allow…
PGD and fetal DNA tests PGD is an abbreviation for pre-implantation genetic diagnosis. It is a process through which physicians genetically screen embryos for genetic problems before they are implanted in the uterus. PGD is often done when one parent has an increased risk of some genetic issues (Aghajanova et al., 2016). According to Drury, Hill & Chitty (2016), fetal DNA test, on the other hand, is the process through which physicians evaluate fetus’ DNA and chromosomal makeup. It involves testing the blood sample from the mother, which contains a DNA sample from both mother and her fetus for chromosomal abnormalities and can as well provide information regarding the fetus sex and blood type and PGD test is done on an in-vitro fertilized embryo in the laboratory where they are genetically evaluated, and genetically healthy embryos are implanted. In contrast, the fetal DNA test is done to a fetus in the uterus after their implantation. However, the two assess the genetic makeup of the embryos to determine their genetic health. PGD and fetal DNA tests are more beneficial than other…

Research Paper: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) 80% of people will contract HPV in their lifetime, most of these people do not even know that have contracted this virus. Early prevention is very important, and the way to accomplish early prevention is to practice safe sex and obtain preventative vaccines. Vaccines are recommended for adolescent children and young adults, ages ranging between 11-15 years. Research has also shown that HPV can lead to multiple cancers. The HPV virus make-up attacks different areas of the body causing DNA mutation, increasing chances of cancer. As this virus is becoming more prevalent here in the United States, we have to take a further look into HPV. HPV is now considered to be the most common type of STI, which in turn has become the second most form of cancer shown through cervical cancer, due to this scientist are looking into the creation of vaccinations to prevent the contraction of HPV. Human Papillomaviruses (HPV) has become the most common sexually transmitted infection amongst men and women, there are over 100 virus strains that can affect…
Aspects of Memory and Basic Processes of Attention INTRODUCTION The human mind is so powerful that the brain possesses 100 billion neurons (Fiorito, Agnisola, d’Addio, Valanzano, & Calamandrei, 1998). Memory is the record of past experiences acquired through learning. Attention is the behavior and cognition process of selectively concentrating on a discrete aspect of information (Chun and Turke-Browne 2017). This being said the question many would ask is if attention has anything to do with one’s memory. Within my research I would be looking to see if there’s any connections. Throughout this research I would like to cover the study of attention and how this can affect the memory. I will like to see if this can affect the memory in a good or bad way where it can improve or worsen the memory. The text about the Interactions between Attention and Memory (Chun and Turk-Browne) and The Relationship between Attention and Working Memory (Fougnie 2008), goes in dept about the important role that attention plays in memory. They researched that attention and memory needs to operate with each other.…
Death Of A Salesman ONE Willy Loman believed that the key to success was mainly personality and popularity. According to him being successful depends one ones popularity and how one is liked by people, which simply means the more popular one is, the more successful they are. The more you capture many people and become liked by them and the more you become popular amongst the people the more successful you will have become. Willy also believed success was just by luck and one could just get lucky and find themselves stumbling into success. For instance, his brother Ben just “fell” into his diamond fortune which made him a successful person. No, successful selling does not depend on popularity and personality but rather on hard work, determination and being ambitious. TWO Willy Loman does not fit the typical profile of a successful salesman as presented in this course. This is because he believes success depends on luck and being popular. He believes that if you get to be liked by people, it means you have become successful. He …
