how the advertiser has tried to invoke emotion and how it attracts their target market This essay will explain how the advertiser has tried to invoke emotion and how it attracts their target market. I will be using models such as AIDA to reinforce my answer, alongside communications theories, semiotic analysis and target audience. I will take into account the target market, and will consider the imagery and colours, font, typography, layout, style, model portrayed and organisation brand symbol. I will explain how the creative devices are used and why they have chosen this approach in todays market. H&M states on its website that they are driven by their desire to make great design available to everyone in a sustainable way (H&M, 2020).. This ad however appeals primarily to the younger female generation who are said to ‘drive the change in attitudes’ (A. Goody, 2019). This is supported by MINTEL (2019) reports which state that spending on womenswear dominates the market with 49.3% in total. Fashion brands are required to stay updated with changing trends and tailor new strategies in…

at what point does our self-awareness turn into self-criticism? Throughout my career, I’ve interviewed for a few positions and seemed to have a good perception of how the interviews went. In a conversation with a potential employer, they mentioned my strengths and weaknesses were congruent with what my references reported. To me, this indicated I had strong self-awareness.   But at what point does our self-awareness turn into self-criticism? While working as Mock Interviewer at IUP, I would ask students what did they think they did well, where did they think they could improve upon? Almost all of these students would focus on what they did poorly, rather than list what they did positively. But what struck me the most would be how minor or small the mistakes would be. Students would list actions I never picked up. While it could be that I wasn’t as attuned to the interview, my thoughts are we are our own worst critics. However, this extends beyond interviews, to any time we are being evaluated.   This makes sense; who knows you better than…

Similarities of Oedipus Rex and the Death of a Salesman     Oedipus Rex, the king, and Willy Loman, the salesman share similar characteristics that bring them together despite their stories being written at different times in history. The Death of a salesman is about a salesman who is vulnerable to committing suicide. At the same time, Oedipus Rex gives a story about a king who killed his father, and later, he engages in a sexual relationship with his mother. When reading these two stories, it’s difficult for one to find similar characteristics. Even though, after long consideration, they are discovered to have the same theme and source. They indicate that each character was suffering from the internal conflict, which was affecting them. It leads them to commit death actions as the stories explain.  In both stories, they show the characters’ tragic flaw. Therefore, this essay will be examining the similarities between Oedipus Rex and Willy Loman, the salesman. The piece will be explaining the following similar characteristics: confusion and disturbed, mental and physical states, which leads to the characters’ compromising,…

Description of Project The proposed project targets to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of child-life services in three local hospitals as a prevention measure to child neglect. The project will cater to both inpatients and outpatients under the recruited hospitals. According to the developmental-ecological theory, risk factors that contribute to child neglect are linked to parent-child, family, and societal aspects. The program will, henceforth, be family-centered to address the psychosocial needs of the pediatric patients and their families. The proposed program requires the hiring of certified child life specialists (CCLS) for each of the three hospitals. The CCLS job description will include; presenting evidence-based information when liaising with other professions during treatment, plan medical coping strategies, and offer therapeutic services across the care continuum. For an effective intervention, the program intends to recruit the child-life specialist at a ratio of 1 to 15 patients. The CCLS are to operate at the emergency visit departments and the perioperative area. They will work with infants, critically-ill children, oncology patients, and radiology patients. In each hospital, the CCLS will be reporting to a…

Against Death penalty speech Hello, and welcome to this exclusive forum where we get to talk about real issues affecting the people of the United States of America. It is my honor to be here today and looking forward to having a great time with you fellow Americans. Time after time, we have always witnessed some states pass the motion that some criminal acts should be punishable by death. I mean, who should take some that he or she cannot? We live in a society that is very much polarized.  Thomas (2020), who is an editor at the American Addiction Centers, claims that about 19% of the American population is addict to one illegal substance or the other. A 19% portion of the American people is a large number to assume. Another data by Sethuraju et al. (2016) indicates that the capital crimes registered in the United States of America are highly linked to the substance abuse that is ever increasing in the world’s greatest nation. The situation in the American States is different regarding capital punishment. A total of…

Intelligence-Led Policing Intelligence-led policing is a form of policing that emphasizes intelligence gathering and analysis that targets crime offenders. This information is meant to influence the decision-making process in the police operations like developing strategies and allocation of resources to fight crime, rather than the operations influencing the process of intelligence collection. It stands on the principle of information sharing between law enforcement agencies to make the crime control process much more manageable. It has its origin in the United Kingdom, where it was first put into practice at Kent Constabulary, where, as a result of a budget cut, the police focused on information gathering to nub the property crime offenders. The perceived conflict between the CIA and the FBI was hindering the war on crime. The adoption of intelligence-led policing empowered the police more in the war (Ratcliffe, 2012). Criminal Intelligence refers to collated information that is analyzed and dispersed about by the police or any other anti-crime agencies giving details on the details on certain criminal elements or on the type and nature of the crime. The It…

Unity of Purpose Education was not a preference for the families living on the western side of Solya village. The people were already used to bringing up their children to be strong adults who could bear more children and carry on with the trend. It should not be confused with illiteracy or disregard for education. Rather, this community had one thing in common; the residents were poor and marginalized. Most of the people lived under the mercy of their employers who rewarded their tireless efforts with petty cash. The reward was received with gratitude as it was a rare occurrence to be paid at the end of the day. It was the season of cheap labor and job seekers were everywhere seeking for any opening. Young and old, they made efforts to gather as much as they could from the employers. Jeremy was one of the young boys whose parents remained dedicated to bring up to be a responsible young man. As the only boy in a family of six, his parents and siblings loved him and wished that he…
