The book of ‘The life You Can Save’ The book of ‘The life You Can Save’ is a book by Peter Singer that has focused on inspiring the population. According to the author of the book, the community should be guided by good deeds, especially to those who live in extreme poverty. The individuals only require offering help to any person in need despite the circumstances that are presented. There is an example of a situation that is presented by the author, the position of a drowning child. The writer poses a question on whether a person should consider saving the life of a child or other factors like dressing or heading to working. The example is to show that one should offer help always despite the circumstances. In my personal view, the lesson presented by the author of the book should always apply as we handle situations. In my case, I apply the lesson from Peter Singer. I believe in the power of giving in my life. I apply this in my life when in school and believe that…

It was used to uplift, empower, express and spread messages with the masses. The more that the black people struggled against with their white suppressors, the more they found the cross to be a spiritual power to resist the violence they suffered. Blues allowed African Americans to forget the hardships they were enduring, they used Blues as a form of expression. When the black man was being treated as a child in this Era, songs from artists like Bo Diddley, spelling out “I’m a Man”- “M-A-N,” spelled out the word man for emphasis, and allowed for the necessary affirmation of black resistance. During this…

Profit as a Product of Capitalism through Labour-power Exploitation Capitalism is an essential component in production as it encompasses the exploitation of the labor-power to ensure there is surplus value. The surplus-value in business upon production is known as profit. The running of the daily activities within any production firm must, at all times, be focused on how best to exploit the labor-power to ensure maximum productivity in return, make profits. The most important and crucial aspect is in the compensation of the labor offered by the workforce as this classifies the labor-power to be of value such that it is directly proportional to productivity. The employers should always give reasonable compensation package to ensure workforce motivation hence guarantee surplus-value and substitute the exploitation. According to Marx (1867), wages and salaries are the price of labor, and the higher the price, the better the quality of the services, and in the end, the production is of good quality. Capitalists ensure maximum exploitation to cover for the compensation packages they offer to their labor subjects; therefore, to some extent, it is…
