NECTER IN A SIEVE Nectar Paper Prompt: The novel, Nectar in a Sieve, allows us to assess the transformations that take place at individual, family, community and social/cultural levels during processes we’ve studied as “imperialism,” “industrialization,” and “modernization” (among many others). Through your paper, taking the vantage point of one of the characters in the novel, write an assessment of your character’s life and experiences that: -uses the first person point of view -utilizes (and cites) specific changes/developments from the novel -connects those changes/developments to historical processes from our textbook reading -comments on the meaning of the title to the novel as a whole -comments on the meaning of the title of the novel in your (as in you, the student, and not the persona from the novel’s) reading of the historical processes we’ve been studying through the textbook reading Please take notice: this is not a prompt for literary analysis. I am not interested in reading a book review, book report, or plot summary. I am specifically interested in your ability to read the novel historically, i.e. to read…
Excel sheet and descriptive characteristics Part 1 Descriptive characteristics give us information about key parameters used for analysis, such as the central tendency, mean, among others. This helps to give simpler summaries of measures and the sample. Research studies always have many measures as, for our case, we were analyzing five factors about twenty people, which provides a large volume of data. Descriptive characteristics work to simplify the large amounts of data in a more straightforward way that warrants easy comparison. Inferential analysis of any data that is reaching relevant conclusions cannot be possible if the data is not simplified. For a large volume of data, understanding the data in eternity is tedious and requires calculations, which may result in possible errors compromising practical analysis. Therefore, descriptive characteristics ensure that data analysis is correct through the provision of thought through a description of the data. From my experience, the descriptive characteristic is an automatic generator that combines various parameters to give out information concerning the data. The program was able to calculate the standard deviation, mean, range, skewness, kurtosis, among…
Mr. Carton Character Analysis A Tale of Two Cities is a historical novel written by Charles Dickens. The most significant person who carries the message of Dickens so well is Mr. Sydney Carton, whereby his death is considered the turn of events to himself and for various characters such as Lucie Manette and Charles Darnay. The paper, however, concentrates on the role of Carton and how Dickens used multiple aspects to bring out the attributes in him. Dickens, through the physical description of Mr. Carton and Stryver, brings out the character of a disinterested and disreputable person, whereby he says that though they look the same, they are different. Though identical in physical appearance, the conversation of Stryver indeed proves there is a difference in how they used to relate in school and how Mr. Carton was bright than him but ended in a more inferior job compared to that of Stryver. At one point, Stryver referring to the mirror Mr. Cartons was staring, tells him, “It shows you what you have failed away from and what you might have…

Tony Morrison’s story Tony Morrison creates a story with two women characters, Twyla and Roberta. One of the characters is African American, while the other is a Caucasian America, and they are clearly separated by class. Morrison creates his story without specifying which race Twyla and Roberta belong. Throughout the story, the point Morrison is making is to divert the attention of readers from thinking about the characters in terms of race but personality. She removes the racial codes from the narrative regarding Twyla and Roberta; though they are from different racial backgrounds. Morrison wants her audience to think about the challenges that affected women during this time in history. I have reached the decision based on the experience of the two girls as portrayed by Morrison. For instance, through the character Maggie, the issue of race of the two girls emerges. Roberta blames Twyla for kicking the poor black girl, Maggie making Twyla get furious. Twyla is convinced she did not kick her and did not remember she was black. In this view, Morrison wants her audience to realize…
Explain how Odysseus’s “cunning trickery” allows him to survive his encounter with Polyphemus Odysseus is known for using lies to get an objective. Most of Odysseus’s cunning trickery was confirmed when he encountered Polyphemos. Zeus, the immortal god, had said that Odysseus had wit, but it was upheld after using it to survive his encounter with the giant. Odysseus’s mind was great to the extent of formulating different tricks in different situations. He encountered Polyphemos, who almost got help. To avoid the giant getting a successful help, Odysseus told the giant his name, “I am Nohbdy, my mother, father, friends, and everyone calls me Nohbdy.” Odysseus’s flaws traits are revealed when he encounters Polyphemos. However, these flaws are the ones he uses to survive the giant. Odysseus knows that he cannot ponder a more moral answer since what will only work is trickery. His traits are barbaric when he encounters the giant since he can only neutralize threats from the giant barbarically since the threats were barbaric. These cunning traits define Odysseus as realistic. For example, he got the giant…
Boys and men benefit from Tough guise Boys and men benefit from Tough guise by empowering them to challenge myths and beliefs that mean that have to engage in violence and behaviours, which are self-destructive. According to Katz, violence against women means that women have their issues and the violence has to happen just like the weather and pay attention to helping the survivors and victims’ while men’s violence against women is a men issue contributing to 98% of the violence to women. The gap between these two terms is wide because instead of seeing it as men’s issues and addressing it, we look at it as a women issue. The media would emphasize the fact that these are girls in case of a shooting in a school and girls were perpetrators because media fail to bring gender equality in matters of girls and boys. It was a case of boys the matter wouldn’t be emphasized because boys are viewed as violent and discriminated in this community. Media and cultures inspire actual violence to boys compared to girls and women…
What Characterises an Excellent Health Care Provider? You are mostly responsible for your mental and physical well-being. Observing prevention measures often translates to fewer visits to the doctor. However, it is essential to work with qualified medical providers to be on the safe side. Spain offers both private and public health care system. The government-run system provides primary care for individuals and families that contribute to the country’s social security. Additionally, retirees, including those from European Union countries, receive health services for free in public hospitals. Choosing the right clinic for you and your family is one of the most crucial things you will do. Location and Accessibility A lot of people focus on the area when picking a hospital, more than experience and standard of care. Therefore, if you start losing your clients to faraway hospitals, you should examine how you treat your patients and the quality of your services. Since the seriousness of medical conditions can change within no time, it is better to get to the hospital quickly hence the essentiality of access and location. However, with…
