Regression and Prediction Regression analysis is among the most common statistical tools used in investigating relationships among variables and prediction. This paper considers Adam’s Pizza outlet, which operates in six cities, namely: Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, OKC, Tulsa, and Norman. The study conducted a multiple regression analysis using the data collected on quarterly intervals between the years 2013 and 2014. The study is aimed at determining the impacts of prices and advertising on the sales of pizza. It also seeks to assess the effect of other factors such as income and population on demand for pizza. This report, therefore, discusses the economic and statistical significance of the variables, interpretation of coefficient of determination, estimation of the 2015 first-quarter sales, and confidence intervals. The Statistical Significance of the Variables The multiple regression model uses six independent variables: price, Advertising expenditure, price of the competitors, income, population, and the trend. The price is the cost at which Adam’s Pizza sells in their outlets. The price affects the demand of the pizza, because a high price may scare away customers while low price…
legalization of the controversial medical marijuana Introduction The discussion surrounding the legalization of the controversial medical marijuana in Florida led people to the ballot in 2014. The people were to vote in favor of legalizing cannabis for medicinal purposes. The law required the poll to pass with at least sixty percent voting in support of the motion. The motion seemed to have failed by not meeting the quorum since only fifty-three percent of the people voted in favor of it. Though the law did not pass, it showed the growing motivation to make marijuana legal under federal law in the United States. Following the contradiction of cannabis being an illegal substance under the Controlled Substance Act, physicians find themselves in a dilemma on whether to discuss or even administer marijuana to patients in fear of breaking the law and being convicted (Cerdá, Wall, Keyes, Galea, & Hasin, (2012). This article argues that Florida, as a state, should focus on helping their health workers alleviate their fears of breaking the law. This will put them in a position to discuss the…
Significance of Primary Sources: “Middle Passage” Introduction Primary sources are one of the most significant sources in the field of history. Primary sources play a significant role to the learners, the teachers, and even the researchers.to the learners, the primary sources play a role in exposing students in multiple perspectives on the significant issues which took place and the past and also the present(Legg & John pg. 104). They give a better interpretation of the past, including the most famous historians, ordinary citizens, any happening which made a significant impact on society in the past. The use of the primary sources helps the student to participate in the present debates while learning fully. The paper aims to give the significant impact of the middle passage in slavery and abolitionism. The journal aims to provide details on how the primary helps in knowledge transformation by developing reasonable explanations derived from the primary sources. The middle passage during the slave and abolitionism was a triangular stage of triangular trade where many Africans were transported and sold into slavery. The writing was done…
Supportive Submission 2- Abstract ABSTRACT Background: Children who are abused and neglected may face lifelong negative physical health conditions because of the physical and biological disruptions that occur as a result of the trauma they face. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to critique a study that was undertaken to investigate whether abused and neglected children had a higher risk of negative health conditions in adulthood as compared to children who were not abused and neglected. Summary: The study was undertaken using a cohort of abused and neglected children who were followed for 30 years, along with a cohort of children who were had similar demographic characteristics as the abused children that were also followed for 30 years. All of the children underwent health screenings at several points throughout the 30 years period by a registered nurse. Results: The results of the study showed that children who were abused and neglected faced more lifelong negative physical health problems than children who were not abused. Critique: The research methodology that was used increased the validity of the findings because…
Spanking is Not the Best Alternative for Disciplining Children Introduction Why do parents spank their children? Typically, the aim of spanking is to punish the children for wrongdoing or for misbehaving. But is this the correct way to follow when it comes to disciplining children? Spanking, formally known as corporal punishment, is banned in many countries. Research shows that substitutes to spanking can be just as operational in terms of amending bad behaviour and that spanking or any other form of corporal punishment to children is scarring of long-term emotional development (Campbell, 2016). Information Spanking is humiliating and threatening. The most important relationship is the one between a parent and their children; therefore, using violent means to condition a child will potentially disorient or ruin the loving relationship. Multiple studies by paediatricians assert that a child may interpret spanking as an act of disfavour, leading to mistrust and fear of the parent. Children who undergo this form of punishment may also become tolerant of violence. Again, spanking alone does not tell the child what is right from wrong and may…

The Importance of Reconciliation in Stakeholder Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Organizations are prone to encountering disagreements among stakeholders regarding their daily operations. Conflict resolution is an essential element in negotiation for all parties to participate fully and reach a consensus. Environmental organizations deal with numerous stakeholders such as government, local communities, employees, and other interested parties who might express conflicting interests. However, for the organization to operate smoothly and engage all parties in a collective goal, it must resolve any existing disputes. Reconciliation is a critical aspect of a negotiation that enhances satisfaction among parties in question. For instance, an organization pursuing a conservation project on resources shared by two conflicting communities may need to restore order and harmony before proceeding with negotiations on sharing its proceeds. Lewicki, Barry& Saunders (2015) present three ways to resolve disputes, which include reconciling the interests, determining who is right, and determining who is dominant. In such instances, the organization might determine who is right through addressing geographical boundaries. However, the most effective method should the lower probability of dispute recurrence, incur minimum transaction…
A description of the constructs of the Pender’s model using a specific health behavior The model of health constructed by Nola Pender describes that every person has some unique features and experiences that affect actions that they take later in regards to their health. The cluster of variables for specific behavioral knowledge and their effect has some important significance to motivation towards healthy behavior. Nursing actions can be used to modify the variables in accordance with specific health behavior concerns. The promotion of health behavior is the required behavioral outcome, and they signify the end results in the health promotion model. Behaviors that promote health should produce improved function ability, enhanced health outcomes which ultimately leads to better quality of life in all developmental stages that humans go through. In the long run behavioral demand is also determined by competing preferences and demands that occur in real time since they can slow or divert actions that are intended to promote health. A health choice or behavior which can be used to discuss the model of health promotion is the…
Effects of Divorce on Children and Parents Abstract Most of the parents who have divorced will be likely to seek court permission to move the children into a new place away from their other parents. Such relocations will often stress and interfere with most important parent-child relationship. And this, in turn, may have more effects on children’s development. This case study discusses the growth of attachment relationship in young children and how relocation is likely to affect young kids; late trends in judicial decision concerning relocations, factors to consider in either to allow relocation or not, ways in which we can improve relationship between young kids and their separated parents either mother or father and implication for legal policy. In past years the need for one parent to move with his or her children to a new place following separation or divorce as captured the attention of judicial, legal, and mental health professionals. Because relocation, in general, results in reduced conduct between children and nonmoving parents, such cases can result in anger, litigation especially if nonmoving parents were the core…
