impact community policing has on the attitudes and behavior of officers With regards to the President’s Taskforce in 21st Century Policing, community policing has upheld the themes of crime reduction policy, building trust, and officer wellness and safety. Community-based programs have led to the interaction of police officers with citizens of the community, thus establishing feelings of trust, especially from the community to the police. Trust leads to better collaborations to ensure a safer environment for members of the community. Regarding crime reduction, constant foot patrols have yielded results by increasing safety, thus reducing the rate of offense. This also goes hand in hand with the development of trust in the police system. Policy effects can be felt in the provision of services to the community and the attitudes of the officers towards citizens, and vice versa. Moreover, officer wellness and safety are promoted through the promotion of healthy working environments. This effect can also be evidenced by the impact community policing has on the attitudes and behavior of officers. The community policing and crime reduction is the pillar of…
Should the U.S Return to a Gold Standard Introduction When a country opts to tie their money value to the amount of gold they possess is referred to as the gold standard unit. In this light, the citizens are required to present the paper money in the possession and be exchanged with an agreed amount of gold known as the “par value,” which helps to facilitate trade. The U.S abolished the gold standard trade-in 1973, and the motive to return to the use of gold standard have been delayed due to various reasons (Eichengreen,2019) Notably, the motive will be a constraint to the U.S government in managing the economy. In this case, in time of inflation, which needs to be restored by reducing the money in supply by increasing the interest rate will not be achieved. Similarly, during the recession periods, it will be challenging to raise the money supply by lowering the interest rates. This will limit government intervention, balance the budget as well as fiscal discipline enforcement (Nagin, Daniel, and Robert,130) Economic growth may be inhibited if the…

Child Interview An interview I conducted with two children, a child of 5 years age and 11 years of age. This was aimed at further r understanding the motor development and the physical skills of a child at a particular age. As a child grows into early childhood, their world will begin to open up. They will become more independent and more focused. The basic skills that children use and their behaviour at this stage is what I am interested in. I interviewed a 5-year-old male preschool child. His name was Avyn, and he is physically big in height and weight for his age. This showed the state of his health and diet to be good. His family is monogamous in structure. He lives with both of his parents. The kid is from my neighbourhood, and thus we have associated together for a while. I conducted the interview in our community children centre to get a clear interaction of the child with other children. Egocentrism: this is the ability of a child to view situations from his own point of…
Progressivism Part three of the article “Progressive Movement (1890s-1920)” explains about the paradigm shift. The article further explains that progressivism is turned from the essential precept that was dear to the founding fathers. The American colonists’ main aim was to fight for the opportunity to qualify for political posts and sanctions (The Open Courses Library, 2019). The American people had the main objective of pursuing happiness. The primary goal of progressivism is parity of outcome. The article insists that the wealthy are rich, while not all poor people are jobless and lazy. The main idea of the article is hard work and communism among Americans. Chiefly, Benjamin Franklin encouraged the American dream by telling people to work hard (The Open Courses Library, 2019). The communism idea is through Thomas Jefferson advocating for public policy by the transfer of resources from the wealthy to those living in poverty. However, contrary to the concept of communism income taxes on the poor makes progressivism hard. Notably, someone may work hard and they will remain poor. I agree with the concept of hard work,…
Iran and the Protection of Cultural Heritage Cultural heritage is considered an extremely important part of society. While this is taken very seriously in many aspects of one’s life, many disagree and fight against keeping cultural heritage alive. Because terrorists and traffickers highly target cultural heritage, it is important for the organizations involved in the “protecting cultural heritage” initiative to continue and pursue the resolutions that have been decided upon to keep cultural heritage protected and seen as an important part of life for many (Nurki, 2015). During the world war I, the cultural heritage of France and Belgium was destroyed, during the conflict, the cathedral of Rheims was destroyed. Several years later, after the world war, countries like Iran are still the destruction of their cultural heritage (Craig, 2014). This research paper aims to comprehend how far Iran has come with the resolutions they have taken to protect their cultural heritage and monuments. During a meeting that happened in Paris in 2016, UNESCO director and the president of Iran agreed on the role that culture plays in society, therefore,…
Importance of Showing Virtues to Others Virtues represent the character of an individual, in most cases used to determine the destiny of a person. Individuals who have realized the impact of practicing virtues have on their lives, and the lives of others enjoy a life filled with joy and fulfillment. Acceptance is a good virtue when interacting with others; it is good to accept people for who they are; people should never be judged. The right way of accepting others is by forgiving them and being contended with their actions (Chapman, 2020). An individual with an ideal character can be described to be a virtuous person. Virtues occurred naturally, but an individual need to nurture them until they become stable. Noble people will never misuse their morals in order to gain favours from other people (Chapman, 2020). many people do not understand what it takes to be a good person; this research study aims to understand when one individual benefits from the virtues of another individual. In many cases, people fail to appreciate that good character and virtues go hand…
STEFAN JAYNES VS NNPS Introduction The court hearing concerns Stefan Jaynes; a child discovered to have autism at two years old. theoretical basis of the research philosophy and the methodology for collecting and analyzing data Research Methodology 3.1 Introduction This chapter presents the theoretical basis of the research philosophy and the methodology for collecting and analyzing data. Also, it discusses the ethical issues and introduces the reliability and validity of the collected data. Notably, Saunders et al. (2009) “research onion” framework will be used to guide the flow of the discussion in this chapter. This is represented in figure 1. The approach adopted in using the research union framework is to start from the outer layer going to the inner layer of the research onion. It offers an effective progression of how the researcher has designed the research methodology of this study. Saunders et al. (2009) compare the research process to the act of unwrapping an onion, layer by layer. Thus, for the inner layer to be seen, one must first unwrap the outer layer. For a goal to be attained, the right steps must be followed accordingly, and this also applies in this research, the first step must be covered…
