Kimiyo Mishima Introduction The artist mentioned above was born in 1932. She is of a Japanese origin and is well known for her exemplary artistic works which mainly involve the use of ceramics (Koplos, 38). She has created a lot of realistic versions of matter than can easily get broken from ceramics. They include boxes, newspapers and some comedy books made from clay. Having started her artistic career in the 1960s, she resorted into covering ceramics in her art in 1971. One of the techniques that she heavily used in printing newspapers and advertisement images on clay was the screen silk method.
