Genetics in Drosophila melanogaster Abstract This report aims at outlining the comparison between the mutant phenotypes of Drosophila Melanogaster, commonly known as Fruit-fly to phenotypes of Wild-type flies. In the experiment, the phenotypes are compared in the resulting F1 generation and the F2. The F1 and F2 were used in generating the two mutants that were employed in setting up the initial crossing of the parents; hence the appropriate phenotypic ratios were used. From F1, the white eye mutant was identified for the male fruit fly. In the subsequent F2 generation, there was newly identified mutant in both male and female in which two distinct phenotypes, the white eye mutant were observed again. Prediction of this outcome had much to do with the result which was created by setting up white-eyed males and wild type females Introduction Drosophila melanogaster is an organism that is frequently used in studying different biological processes such as inheritance and genetics (Sharma, et al. pg.5). The use of this organism has various advantages in that it is easy to maintain and handle, cheap to culture in…

Neuro Awareness: The Intriguing Connection between the Brain and the Gut To commemorate the Brain Awareness Week, Medical News Today on March 19, 2020, complied a set of facts relating with how our nervous system and the gut are conversant with each other, on an unfathomable level. The gut, a sensitive body organ, is intertwined with the brain in the following ways: Foods with a substantial level of sucrose can disorient nerve chemistry, through alteration of the opioid and dopamine brain systems. There’s a tight correlation between gut bacteria and gut health, with Scientists looking into ways that the former can brain behaviour. Through the vagus nerve, Parkinson disease-causing clamps might get to the brain, and end up destroying dopamine cells which leads to invariable symptoms of the ailment.   A new year, new enchanting brain discoveries Scientists argue that yawning has an unprecedented contagion power. An increase in the motor cortex’s excitement can propel an individual’s urge to yearn. Neurogenesis- production o.f new neurons, is a continuous lifetime process. While most adults have to do with the neurons they…

Sanitary landfills Sanitary landfills are facilities or sites used to isolate waste from the environment to allow biological, physical and chemical degradation that renders the waste environmentally safe. The chemical changes that occur on the earliest anaerobic stage of decomposition in sanitary landfill are dependent on certain factors. This include; bio oxygen demand(BOD) which is the oxygen needed to break down organic materials present in a given water sample at a specific temperature over a given period. BOD regulates the production of bacteria used in the decomposition of waste and the conversion process of the same to methane gas or leachate and also determines the PH Of the waste. The bacteria act on the refuse and transform the metals to leachate. The increase of bacteria is gradual as period lapses, and the production of methane gas decreases the PH inside the landfill and of which is attributed to the acidity brought forth by the decomposition. The different types of leachates contain different chemical compositions in their original forms. The sanitary facilities used in storing leachates are either made of PVCs…

Relevant graphs/tables/etc… should be included I also want to provide you with a few samples of mine so they can have a similar style of writing but better content that matches the criteria. And I would appreciate it if you are able to send me drafts/progress whilst it is being written. I′ll have a few more details in about an hour, but they will provide us with the video and the set of results tomorrow. I am going to to submit it by 7am on Thursday but I need it the night before so I can go through it and see if it needs editing etc, I will only have the actual full details and the video tomorrow morning, the lab report cannot be properly constructed without them, although it could be drafted from the material I will be providing…

Rising of a new link in the rising star cave with the advent of the concept of Homo Naledi Anthropology as science has the power to access the results of any given fossil from multiple viewpoints. The tale of the discovery of Homo Naledi is a vibrant example of this fact where the tools of morphology and scanning identified a primitive species which has the potential to substantiate the theory of gradual evolution of Homo sapiens and hypotheses drawn by the experts of the anthropology tried to substantiate them. In the case of Rising Star Cave, the evidence drawn from the monographic observations establishes a different type of human, which was never seen before (Randolph, 2015). However, its existence as the prevailing species at any given time of history is doubtful because when we see them stand-alone evidence, we find a definitive conclusiveness in them. However, as an anthropologist when we try to fix them in a Jigsaw puzzle, they fail in completing the conditions of various hypotheses weaved around them. There are two conclusive pieces of evidence and numerous…

Similarities between Modern America and Ancient Rome Modern America is considered as the modern-day Rome because of the great reminiscence with Ancient Rome. These significant similarities are seen in different aspects; political, religious, architecture, and artistic. The Ancient Roman became a successful government by the first century, and its success was due to military power, economic expansion, and political flexibility. This paper will explain both political and architectural similarities between modern America and the Ancient Roman. The current United States and the Ancient Roman have the same branches of governments (Malamud, 2009). The Ancient Roma had three branches of government that are the executive, legislative, and judiciary. Likewise, the federal government of the United States is currently divided into three parts; the executive, legal, and judicial. This, therefore, shows that the structure of the government of the United States resembles that of the Ancient Roman. American architecture has similarities with Roman architecture. The Supreme Court of the United States and the Jefferson Memorial have a high resemblance to the classical architecture that existed in Ancient Rome. The two buildings…
