Hydration process   Concrete is a mixture prepared by mixing cement, aggregates, and water that forms a workable paste. The paste is molded and consolidated as desired before being left to harden. The concrete acquires its strength through a series of chemical reactions between water and the cement compounds. The process by which the cement compounds react to form chemical bonds with the molecules of water is referred to as hydration. The hydration process is critically important in concrete manufacture. Ordinary Portland Cement constitutes five major components; tricalcium silicate, dicalcium silicate, tricalcium aluminate, tetracalcium aluminoferrite, and gypsum. An addition of water to the cement initiates a hydration reaction with each of this compounds. The hydration of calcium silicates contributes more to the overall concrete strength in comparison to the other compounds. Upon addition of water, there occurs a rapid reaction with the tricalcium silicate, resulting in the formation of calcium silicate hydrate crystals and calcium hydroxide. As the process continues, these crystals grow thicker and prevent water from reaching the tricalcium silicate. Due to this, the process is slowed…

There has been a lot of attention in determining the platform methods needed to improve new discoveries in eHealth and integration in organizations (Benedict and Schlieter 2017). Various eHealth platform projects are identified in Europe but there lack a systematic view of the platforms. Thus this article discusses all the existing and collected eHealth platforms and grouping them according to their functions, thus creating a functional group for the platforms. Evaluation of Article The article says that eHealth systems used in Europe have differences in their maturity and objectives but there exist a dominant function of the eHealth platforms used in the European countries. EHealth platforms help solve various problems such as the reducing number of healthcare professionals in rural areas, failures of the market used in eHealth business theories, and constant…

Annotated Bibliography :human health and oceans Kite-Powell, H. L., Fleming, L. E., Backer, L. C., Faustman, E. M., Hoagland, P., Tsuchiya, A., … & Gast, R. J. (2008, November). Linking the oceans to public health: current efforts and future directions. In Environmental Health (Vol. 7, No. S2, p. S6). BioMed Central. The authors of this article are authoritative as they work in different organizations and have a reputation for writing in different subjects. The purpose of this analysis is to evaluate some of the important connections between public health and oceans, highpoints the current studies on this topic, and propose feasible prospects for future work in this topic. The findings show that there are many connections between human health, human activities, and oceans which lead to both negative and positive health impacts and exposures; and the review of these correlations entails a new inter-fields sphere, “human health and oceans”. Besides, the study shows that shellfish and other aquatic life may present health risks to humans. This source is significant to the topic as it shows the link between oceans and…

Ambulatory Oncology Chair Utilisation in Australia Background Over the past decades, cancer has increasingly become one of the leading causes of death worldwide (Nagai & Kim, 2017). In 2018, cancer accounted for more than nine million deaths worldwide (Bray et al., 2018). Scientific evidence suggests that cancer is a group of severe health conditions that affect the quality of life across all human societies (Ko et al., 2014). It begins with genetic changes that lead to abnormal and uncontrollable growth of cells, which lead to the formation of a tumour. Usually, these tumours are either malignant or benign and can start in ant tissue or organ of the body. As the current burden of cancer continues to grow exponentially around the globe, research shows that lifestyle factors such as tobacco smoking and change in diet patterns, among other environmental factors are responsible for the development of cancer (Patel et al., 2018). Currently, health care systems have been strained this phenomenon, while communities have been experiencing emotional, physical, and financial strain. Cancer has been proven to be a significant factor in…

Quantitative vs. Qualitative Research Introduction Research refers to a term used profusely for an investigation that is anticipated to find new or interesting facts or proofs. As with all activities, the thoroughness with which Research is executed will be mirrored in the quality of the outcomes (Walliman, 2011).  It is possible to develop two fundamental approaches in scientific Research. These approaches include quantitative and qualitative Research. The qualitative Research The qualitative approach is thought to have existed before the quantitative approach as the method tries to describe frequently through observations on how and why things occur, or individuals behave.  Qualitative approach advances its roots to such fields as sociology and psychology.  The qualitative area attempts to clarify through subjective analysis and observation the reasons a phenomenon arises (Miles, 1994).  The qualitative approach entails a range of interpretative approaches that seek to explain, decode, translate, and then come to terms with the meaning and not the frequency, of particular more or less naturally occurring occurrences in the social domain. Qualitative approaches are used in both the data analysis and data collection…

QSEN essay QSEN is a significant concept for nurses which aligns nursing education and nursing best practices while also guiding nurses to redesign the ‘What’ and ‘How’ to deliver nursing care (Committee on the Health Professions Education Summit, & Board on Health Care Services, 2003). It is, therefore, a concept that improves the quality and safety of care and represents a unified high standard of nursing care. The QSEN competencies include patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, teamwork and collaboration, safety, quality improvement, and informatics, which are critical in ensuring quality and safety standards (Brady, 2011). Every competency involves the necessary skills and knowledge base that nurses must have to deliver quality care. For patient-centered care, a nurse ought to understand the diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds of patients and provide care with sensitivity and respect for the patient’s background as well as eliciting patient values, preferences, and needs (Brady, 2011). In teamwork and collaboration, a nurse is expected to value the perspectives and expertise of other healthcare provides, respect the centrality of the patient, and acknowledge the unique attributes that…

Qualitative research methods Qualitative research is a situated activity that locates the observer in the world. It is made up of material practices that make the world visible. The practices are involved in the transformation of the world. This means that they change the world into a representation series, including the interviews, field notes, conversations, recordings, photography, among other methods. This method of research entails a naturalistic, interpretive approach to the world. Qualitative research is more of a systematic collection, interpretation, and organization of textual information. Through such a method, a comprehensive description of the processes, setting, or mechanisms is generated. In this paper, a discussion on two main types of research methods which are participant observation and interviews. Observation is a type of qualitative research whereby a researcher is involved in observing the ongoing behavior.  This method is mainly appropriate for the collection of data on the behaviors which naturally occur in their usual contexts.  Areas such as the social sciences, as well as marketing, mainly employ observational research in data collection. It is therefore different from the experimental…

Clinical practice The field of nursing is increasingly becoming a high tech profession. With the advancement in information technology, healthcare organizations and healthcare providers can collect and analyze health data effectively, which influences how care is delivered. One of the major areas where nurses are using technology is in the informatics. Nursing informatics involves the use of computers and information sciences to develop and maintain health data, and systems that support nursing practice to improve the outcome of health care. When nurses embrace healthcare informatics and technology, they are able to understand their strengths and weaknesses, which help them to make clinical decisions, advance their healthcare practice and increase patient safety. Nursing informatics can be applied to areas of professional nursing practice, which include clinical practice, administration, education and research. Clinical practice Nursing informatics has been applied in clinical practice through recording of patient assessment data in the electronic health records. Documentation is considered as one of the most important aspects of the nursing field in the delivery of quality care. Electronic documentation is having the greatest influence on modern…

Nursing process- approach to care Introduction The nursing process entails a systematic approach to care by applying the fundamental principles of critical thinking, goal-oriented tasks, patient-centered procedures to treatment, and evidence-based practices. Holistic and scientific methods are also integrated to provide quality based health care. It, therefore, functions systematically to give a guide to client-centered care with five sequential steps. These steps include assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and, finally, evaluation. Through these steps, nursing knowledge is put into practice. Nurses are also able to examine the health care needs of individual patients and offer personalized care. The study herein seeks to explore how the nursing process can be utilized to provide safe and quality care to cancer patients across the life span through education and support. To effectively provide safe care for patients with cancer, its diagnosis process and staging are elaborated. Also, complications and side effects of the methods of cancer treatment are significantly explored and discussed. Diagnosis and staging of cancer Cancer is one of the significant causes of death in the entire world to the extent of…

An Analysis of Law film: Anatomy of a Murder At times people commit crimes, but they are not aware of the judgment they would receive. However, at times, innocent people can be accused of committing crimes that they have not done. Most judges are never careful about discussing the verdict and examining the case reported. This ignorance has resulted in the suffering of very innocent people. Some have been imprisoned while others have been executed due to the presence of substantial evidence, which is false. Capital punishment has led to the death of many innocent lives as the data collected world and in specific states like in the US. However, the case is not the same in the film, Anatomy of Murder Judges are reasonable, and a bit cooperative and apply justice in all the facts they handle. Anatomy of murder is one of the fascinating films that I have ever watched concerning the topic of law. The unique part of this film reflects on the importance of justice and the application of deductive reasoning. In this paper, I will…
