Coronavirus; Over a thousand infections recorded in Africa. Today saw the number of infections by the new coronavirus in Africa exceeded 1,000 in 40 countries and territories, with records of 30 deaths, according to the latest statistics on the covid-19 pandemic. In total, 1,107 cases of infection have been recorded since the beginning of the pandemic, the first case of which was detected on February 14, in Egypt. According to the Worldometer portal, which compiles information in almost real time from the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from official country sources, scientific publications and the media, there are records of deaths by covid-19 in eight African countries: Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Sudan and Mauritius, the latter having today registered its first death. According to a count made by Lusa at 3:00 pm, the continent still has 104 recovered, numbers that bring the total number of active infections down to 973. Algeria now counts 12 deaths and 95 cases of SARS-Cov-2 infections, being the African country with the highest number of fatalities…
Business Analytics and Statistics The mean of a sample proportion is the same as the population proportion. The population proportion (p) is x/n Where x is the population of defective items Therefore p = 25/500= 0.05 Since p = 0.05, then µ= 0.05 The calculation of the confidence interval depends on the mean and standard deviation of the proportion from sampling distribution (Albright & Winston, 2016). However, since the population parameter is unknown, a sample proportion is appropriate for the estimate. Sp= √p(1-p)/N = √0.05(1-0.05)/500 =0.00975 Since the population proportion is assumed as binomial, the confidence interval is given, as shown below. p- Zα Sp ≤p≤ p+ Zα Sp From the normal probability table, the confidence interval of 95% is 1.96 0.05-1.96(0.00975)≤p≤0.05+1.96(0.00975) 0.03089≤p≤0.06911 There is a 95% confidence that the mean proportion of defective items falls between 0.03089 and 0.06911 Population mean is µ±1.96∂/√n 0.05±1.96(0.00975)/√500= 0.05±0.000854 0.050854, 0.049146 The actual population mean falls within the constructed confidence interval. 475 of the constructed intervals should include the true population mean. SLHS Annotated Bibliography Annotated Bibliography Mark Stibich, Ph.D. – Reviewed by a Board-certified Physician. “What Is the Life Expectancy of a Person With ALS?” Verywell. N.p., n.d. Web. 08 April. 2017. The above article begins by briefly explaining and defining ALS. The article explains that ALS is a neurodegenerative type of disease that significantly affects all nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. The statistics obtained showed that 50% of the affected generation lived more than three years, 20% lived more than five years, a 10% affected population lived more than ten years, and the last 5% lived more than 20 years. The source further explains and gives precise details on ways of increasing life expectancy. Some of the discussed ways include noninvasive ventilation, percutaneous endoscopic gastronomy, and medications. However, the only drug that is approved by the FDA is called Riluzole, which assists in prolonging life expectancies for a few months. There exist other medications that improve life’s quality. Noninvasive ventilation assists in increasing life expectancy to about 7-12 months and uses a mask and tube, which…
Bio-Statistics paper The key feature of the data set is 32 observations included 34 male patients and 60 female patients. The average length of stay for male patients was 2 hours and the most extended body position change for male patients was 3 hours. Consequently, the shortest period of rest for male patients was 1 hour (Chair, Thompson & Li, 2007). Also, the average length of stay for female patients was hours, and most extended length of stay for female patients was four days. Hence, the shortest period of remain for female patients got analyzed to be 2 hours. Another characteristic of the Data set is the median of male patient length of visit, which was approximately 2 (Chair et al. 2007). In this case, the median of the female patient length of stay got established to be 3. According to the data obtainable from the 32 observations, the time of body position change for male patients is less than that for female patients. The data graphs do not represent a normal distribution. The tables represent a positive skew for…
Community Intervention Plan Develop a proposed project with interventions to address one of the issues. Assignment Part 2 Outline In Part two of your paper you will propose a plan to address one of these problems over a one year time period Final Project Part Two: You have analyzed a health issue in the community you have assessed. A private organization wants to promote community participatory health promotion and prevention and will award a $50,000 grant to be used over one year for a proposal that can impact health outcomes. Propose a project that would offer a program to provide services or interventions that could be effective in addressing the identified health problem or issue. Discuss why you selected the issue, determine measureable outcomes, select evidence based interventions, draft a budget and provide a timeline (Use attached forms below) In a well-constructed 750 –1000 word paper (3 – 4 pages) in APA format, address the following components of a proposal for your project – include all topics): Describe the following: Title of Proposed Community Intervention Project Plan Describe the following in a…

Understanding Statistics Coursework Statistics means the numbers that are used to describe data or relationships. It is a branch of mathematics that deals with numerical data collection, organizations, analysis, interpretation and presentations. Students are required to understand statistics to identify the best methods to use while collecting data, analysis and presentation. The coursework requires students to research the topics they are studying. The examiner gives the guidelines to be followed in the statistical process to enable learners to provide the expected results. Below are steps to follow while composing your statistics coursework. Selecting the topic: the student should choose a topic that he/she understands and has interest on. It should cover areas that have statistical applications. Planning: before starting the coursework, the student should develop a plan on how he/she will approach the statistics work. Below are segments that you can include in your plan: You should mention the objective of the coursework; the well-stated goal is easy to achieve. Identify the area where and when you will collect your data Identify the sampling method to use. State the…
Application of Statistics in Healthcare By definition, statistics is a broad term that involves the practice of collecting and conducting an analysis of statistical data in massive quantities. Normally, statistics is often a small representation of a group. Over time, statistics has been used in the healthcare sector for various meaningful reasons. The paper aims at detailing the contribution that statistics is making in the healthcare sector with a great focus on the implication of this concept on safety, health promotion, quality improvement, and leadership. Statistics has had a positive impact on all aspects of patient safety, quality, health promotion, and leadership. Regarding quality, significant progress has been made in the improvement of patient outcomes, thanks to statistical knowledge. Quality service delivery, especially in the nursing sector, is dependent on evidence based practice (Kim & Mallory, 2014). By definition, evidence based practice relates to a type of practice that is informed by research. Research is only possible if a scientist has all the basics of statistics because he or she will be tasked with the mandate of collecting data through…
