Theoretical Traditions and Shifts in the History of communication and Social Change Introduction The importance of communication across societies cannot be underestimated. Communication plays a central role in the transfer of cultural practices that are critical aspects of an organisation. Communication theories have been developed other the years to explore the importance of the concepts across societies and communities across the world. However, communication theories are not only about organisations. These theories are classified as a component of the organisation and play a critical role in the evolution of the communication aspects that makes the society, significantly contributing to the process of social change (Louw, 2010). Communication theories are mostly analysed based on the ideas of social, traditional approaches and network to show how each has contributed to the development of modern societies. These theories have also been developed in conjunction with profound transformations in the communicative constitution of society. Additionally, studies have been developed, supporting the argument that communication theories and practices interact in the medium of meta-discourse. The discourse on both the practice and the theories developed are…

Communication Techniques             While viewing the first part, I could tell that the patient was furious, uncomfortable, and in pain. The patient also sounded tired, maybe due to lack of enough sleep the previous night due to the pain she felt, and the nurse on duty did not respond to her complaints. The patient says that she was very uncomfortable, and she needed immediate attention from the nurse. I feel that the nurse is very empathetic; she tries to understand every aspect of the patient that is how uncomfortable the patient is and what medication she can give. Although she is sure no prescription can be given to the patient, she speaks to the patient politely and promises to do something to ease the pain. The nurse in the second part is very considerate and sounds helpful to the patients. If I were the nurse, I would be very compassionate with the patient because she already suffered enough being in the hospital with harsh treatment from the previous nurse. I would be sympathetic and considerate with the patient and offer…

Unconscious Communication Of The Self Communication is part of living, and interaction with others would be impossible without communication. The non-verbal bit of communication is strongest and speaks a mountain compared to the words one speaks. Ritually or unconsciously, we present different fronts when communicating with different persons or groups as a way of fitting in or creating a favorable environment for communication to thrive. Many are situations where interactions with certain groups or individuals have not gone well due to the misinterpreted fronts that individuals have displayed. For instance, having a jolly and extremely cheerful front where a somber front is needed.  The front one presents during different interactions are great determinants of the relationships that one will establish during those interactions. I am an African female, average height and weight, and have natural long dark hair. Originally I am from West Africa. At work, I share a cube with quite a chatty and friendly Indian girl. One day she came to work all excited and invited me to a cultural festival that they were having in their neighborhood…

Communications strategy employed by any lawmaker(s). Communication is an essential element in society that should be maintained at all levels because it plays a vital role in ensuring that individuals can send and receive messages or information in the most convenient way possible. The transfer of these messages from one destination to the other can be faced by numerous obstacles such as cultural positioning, emotions, location, or even the medium used to deliver the message. Therefore, an effective communications strategy is important in each sector, such as the legislation, because the entire population should comprehend the laws correctly. As the country prepares itself for the State of Union address, verbal communications strategies, which include written and oral communication, is the ultimate method of message delivery by the lawmakers (Walker III, 2019). This is because the general public, which is the targeted audience, needs to understand each legislation that they address. The lawmakers have succeeded in developing an essential communications strategy because of their incorporation of some crucial techniques such as creating messages relevant to the audience, having credible speakers, effective…

Communication Skills For the case in which Nurse Inez Cesar is discussing home care with Mr. and Mrs. Halvorsen, I think the patient and her husband needed from the nurse, a kind of treatment that would reduce their anxiety at least to some extent. Mr. Halvorsen is concerned about the health of his wife. He expects the healthcare provider to communicate in a manner that shows she cares about the feelings of the clients. Communication is one of the significant roles of a nurse. Nurses in various parts of the world have, for a significantly long time, complained about being overwhelmed by tasks and working in chaotic conditions. Some of the significant factors that contribute to the problem are the many new initiatives that are frequently introduced to the healthcare system. Nurses are forced to do whatever it is that minimizes the distractions that further complicate the conditions. Some of the distractions also predispose patients to injury or harm. For that reason, I feel that Nurse Inez should have focused more on providing care to her two clients. Taking a…

Nature Communication Relevance of the research The Research is relevant in that it shows the roles of central nervous system in the development of multiple. Cell-permeable peptide, dNP2 efficiently delivers protein into to human T cells, and various tissues. When it enters in human brain tissues and the resident cells via blood vessels after penetrating tight, organized blood–brain barrier. The dNP2-conjugated cytoplasm domain of cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (dNP2-ctCTLA-4) negatively regulates activated T cells and shows the inhibitory effect on autoimmune encephalomyelitis in preventive and therapeutic models, and that resulted in the reduction of the demyelization and CNS-infiltrating T helper 1 and T helper 17 cells. We learn that dNP2 is a blood–brain barrier-permeable peptide and dNP2-ctCTLA-4 is an effective agent used when treating CNS inflammatory diseases such as MS.The inhibition of effectors T-cell functions by dNP2-ctCTLA-4 could modulate the progression of disease symptoms or enhances recovery without significant in vivo toxicity. Research question addressed The researchers are addressing the role of dNP2 from human NLBP as potent novel CPP .They further identifies delivery by dNP2 in primary T cells.…

Gibbs Reflective cycle: Therapeutic communication Effective communication is vital in any healthcare setting. It enables nurses to collaboratively work together with patients and other healthcare providers to improve health outcomes. More so, it enhances the selection of evidence-based practices that best fit the patient`s situation. In pre-operative care, for example, nurses acts as the patient advocate by continuously communicating with the patient in a bid to apply different interventions that will help the patient arrive in the operation room ready for surgery. When there is a communication breakdown, however, effective care might be compromised. In this regard, this paper uses the Gibbs reflective cycle to explore an incidence where a student nurse (me) had a communication breakdown with a patient (Joy) during pre-operative care. The reflective cycle will be used to evaluate and analyze the situation as a way of learning from the mistakes from the incidence and further come up with an action plan on how to handle similar occurrences in the future. a) Description During my student placement, I was stationed at pre-operative care, where I helped patients…

Non-verbal communication as one skill patients and their families value during the communication process Communication remains a significant part of the provision of quality healthcare services to all patients as well as fostering patient satisfaction (Vogel, Meyer, & Harendza, 2018). Health professionals must be in constant communication with their colleagues, patients, and their families in and out of the hospital facility. However, lack of proper communication skills can lead to high readmission numbers and lower patient satisfaction scores. Patients seeking medical services interact with different health professions to varying levels of the treatment process, including doctors, nurses, family members, home care nurses, among others. Along the way, miscommunication may occur, resulting in more complications. Communication skills, therefore, must be valued towards the patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals. Non-verbal communication is one skill patients and their families value during the communication process. Patients value nurses who observe non-verbal communicators while engaging them. Such a skill set is also essential in putting across a powerful message. Frequent eye contact and tone control are two non-verbal communication skills that can help…
