Mini-review Paper Introduction “Reduction Potentials of P450 Compounds I and II: Insight into the Thermodynamics of C–H Bond Activation” by Mittra and Green is a significant article as it describes redox potentials and bond strengths that describes the activation of thermodynamics of C-H bonding in cytochrome P450 catalysis. The authors perform redox titrations using [Ir(IV)Cl6] 2−, which enables them to determine the strength of Fe(IV)OH/Fe(III)OH2) bond in CYP158 (Mittra and Green 5505). The article concludes that P450s influences the oxygenation of hydrocarbons. Besides, these enzymes influence the cleaving reactions of the carbon-carbon bond. Also, the study illustrates that P450s supports the synthesis of ethyl carbamate that produces vinyl carbonate. Again, the authors reveal that P450s trigger the reduction of testosterone to yield 17β-hydroxy-4 (Mittra and Green 5507). Finally, the article shows that P450 enzymes break down Cn fatty acids; thereby, releasing the f Cn−1 alkenes. The authors use the restricted open-shell (ROS), reduction titrations, and semi-empirical ROS techniques during the research. These methods are suitable as they improve the accuracy of research outcomes. For example, they help the researchers determine…

ways of filling judicial vacancies by competitive and judicial appointments Introduction More than 90 percent of Americans believe that judges will not hear cases involving individuals or organizations who contributed to their campaign, according to a Nationwide Poll by USA Today and Gallup. It gets better when said for other cases than finished. This is better said than done with other cases. Judges are either elected by popular vote or appointed by a state body. Both approaches have their benefits and drawbacks, especially for the 90 percent of Americans who want a more independent judiciary free of special interest money. The best it has been possible for states to do is through the method of judicial selection. The paper would cover all ways of filling judicial vacancies by competitive and judicial appointments. Still, it is my view that appointed judges provide the most reliable combination of non-partisan and transparency. Legal associations and other organizations advise the Legislature to turn to an appointment process known as merit selection. This is also the case in any competitive election, the candidate who is…

Stem Cells Discussion             The advancement of technology led to various breakthroughs in the field of medicine. One of the discoveries was the ability to use stem cells in the treatment of multiple diseases. Specifically, the ability to remove stem cells from human embryos came as a relieve towards the treatment of various diseases. However, a debate ensued after that concerning the process (Volarevic et al. 2018). One side of the debate believes that the method should be adopted for its benefits, while the other side believes that destroying human embryos is unethical. Leukemia is characterized by the inability of bone marrow cells to make blood. Stem cells are used to replace leukemia cells in the bone marrow through transplant (Ho et al. 2016). The cells used for the transplant can be obtained from the blood of the patient or a donor. Chemotherapy is first applied in high doses to kill the leukemia cells before transplantation is done. Cord blood contains large amounts of stem cells. The stem cells can be used to treat a variety of diseases such as leukemia and sickle-cell anemia…

Interest Groups in Texas Politics(Using Turabian Style) Introduction By definition, interest groups refer to the associations comprising of either groups or individuals with common interests and who work jointly with the objective of promoting their interests as well as in a bid to influence public policies in their favor[1]. The interest groups are known to aim at impacting the extant government policies through lobbying, which refers to a process involving putting pressure on the diverse government branches so as to ensure the creation of policies capable of benefitting the interest group members or, in certain instances, the public at large. Interest groups are known to lead to the creation of positive influences within the society, and these include enabling the members of public to voice their concerns in relation to governance issues. Given the various advantages that interest groups have been acknowledged to proffer to the public and various communities, interest groups are vital and beneficial to Texas politics. This paper has therefore been written with the objective of analyzing the benefits of interest groups to Texas politics. To attain…

MROSupply Supporting Students and Engineering Projects The Solar Desalination Project by Chris, Jekabs, and Peter Stahl, of TCNJ When we decided to work in this solar desalination project, our minds were disturbed by one fact: although saltwater is present on the surface of the earth, many are the people who lack a clean, safe and reliable source of drinking water. The cases in underdeveloped villages and disaster relief scenarios are the direst. So, we decided to come up with a solution: designing a portable, self-contained and solar-powered seawater desalination system. Since the funding of our proof of concept 1 design (P.O.C.) was secured from the School of Engineering office back in mid-December, the team of Chris, Peter and I have been working hard at work realizing the project. ‘Realizing the project’ has meant something different for everyone: Chris: Constructing the mobile platform on which most equipment will sit, and finalizing the mounting locations and configuration for key hardware components. Peter: Determining the perfect tubing lengths and adjusting for project discontinuations. Jekabs: Wiring and testing components, troubleshooting, and improving the overall…

Rogerian Argument Based on CSR in the Business Environment INTRODUCTION Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) entails all the direct and indirect activities that for-profit organizations engage in order to benefit their stakeholder community. This initiative has been the subject of intense debate by scholars of the social and environmental impacts of businesses for many years. Some argue against CSR stating that is a ploy by the businesses to distract or even blackmail the society into ignoring the negative social and environmental impacts of doing businesses. However, proponents of CSR support the practice stating that is part of the business community’s commitment to influencing their stakeholder community positively while preserving the environment. PROPONENTS OF CSR One side of the CSR conundrum states that it is a strategic attempt to influence their stakeholders positively while contributing to the global environmental conservation efforts. The most common tactic that business organizations use in effecting a CSR initiative is identifying charitable causes such as children homes, sick community members, poverty-stricken regions, and infrastructural needs (Chatjuthamard, et al. 271). They invest in these scenarios for the full benefit…

Ethical, Social, and Sustainable Decision Making                                           Corporate social responsibility is about how the business manages its process to produce an overall positive effect on society (“6.7 Integrating Goals and Objectives with Corporate Social Responsibility”, 2010). If I were to start a company with the “One for One” philosophy, I would make decisions to combine commercial objectives with the social goals to improve the impact of corporate social responsibility. This is because the combination of the commercial objectives and social goals enhance the impact of the corporate social responsibility efforts because it provides a room for the business to engage in activities that make a profit while at the same time doing good to the world by helping more people who are in need. In other words, this philosophy is premised because the philosophy effectively generates more revenue while at the same time, help more people in need (Luthans & Doh, 2012). “One for One “philosophy also appeals to the customers in the sense that while they are still getting the services or goods they want, they are also…

admission into the Pharmacy undergraduate program In my culminating years of school, I developed an inclination towards chapters on chemistry. My love for chemistry enticed me towards chemical preparations, and my curiosity for drugs & their effects on the human body grew. It, coupled with my sound performance in academics, soon made me realize that Pharmaceutical Science would be my stream of choice. Therefore, I took the MH-CET examination for admission into the Pharmacy undergrad program, passed in the top 0.16% of about 90,000 students who took the test and overcame the financial hurdle by winning a need-based merit scholarship for all my graduation years. The worthiness of my decision soon dawned upon me when I entered my undergraduate program. The excellent course structure, coupled with a high academic standard, further stimulated my interest in scientific pursuit. My approach towards courses was to grasp the basic concepts to develop a feel for the subject. The papers of “Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews,” “Journal Of Pharmaceutical Sciences,” and “Asian Journal Of Pharmaceutical Sciences” have been my favorites and the driving force behind…

The trafficking of human body parts The trafficking of human body parts, also known as the organ trade in the black markets, is the illegal trade of human organs for transplantation. This business has risen to become a very lucrative business amassing wealth for the traffickers. The increase in demand for body organs that can sustain the lives of the patients is the primary reason for the boom in this business out of the set medical systems as per the World Health Organization (WHO). For instance, as of the end of January 2020, there were more than 112,000 recipients in the urgent need for organ transplants in the United States. (citehsb). The average wait periods for the candidates who require liver and heart transplants in America is approximated to about 148 days while for a class A1 patient with heart disease is about 73 days. Hence, time is a critical factor in this business, hence the rise and gradual increase in the profits made in the market. Although stringent and stern measures have been taken by the governmental authorities and…

The Master of Steel: Andrew Carnegie Questions: Describe Carnegie’s personal “gospel of wealth.” Did he live up to his own ideals? Why do you think he was attracted to the teachings of his “master,” evolutionist Herbert Spencer? All his life, Carnegie insisted upon his hatred of aristocratic privilege, yet he lived a life of magnificence in his Scottish castle, and he courted the acquaintance of famous politicians, scholars, and royal personages. How did he justify his actions? Did he see himself as a different sort of aristocrat? Why did he go back to Britain to live?     The Master of Steel: Andrew Carnegie The paper aims to describe Carnegie’s personal “gospel of wealth,” and whether he lived up to his ideas. It will give reasons why Carnegie was attracted to the teaching of his “master” evolutionist Herbert Spenser. The paper will also will discuss how Carnegie justified his actions of living a magnificence life in his Scottish castle. Why courted the acquaintance of famous politicians, scholars and royal personages, even though all his life he insisted upon his hatred…
