Wedding – an opportunity to know yourself Many people think and say that planning a wedding grants you a chance to know your friends, enemies, family, and colleagues – but that’s not the case; it’s an opportunity to decipher yourself. The question is – why would you purport to understand others when you haven’t understood yourself? No one – from literate to illiterate, young to old – can claim an explicit understanding of self. That’s why all of us wrestle with unbecoming traits. And this struggle will continue till Jesus returns. You have probably heard an anecdote of an atheist who invoked God to remind him of the title of a book he had written, denying the existence of God. , it’s like asking God to help you deny His existence. Your friends, enemies, and family help you plan your wedding – it’s thus wrong to bedevil or abet any party just because of a mere wedding that nobody knows whether you would sustain. Wedding expectations It’s good to plan your wedding as if you had no family,…
The Good Life In the Epic of Gilgamesh, we are told of the story of Gilgamesh, the king and the leader of Uruk, and his encounters in life. In this story, the theme of death takes center stage in the whole novel. Gilgamesh has little understanding of mortality, and even himself as a king may face death. He is committed to exploring life assumed by human beings, what it is, and what can be considered a good life for human beings. The Epic of Gilgamesh resolves around the king and Enkidu, who is the second self of Gilgamesh. Epic of Gilgamesh opens by the unnamed narrator stating that he was going to give the whole story of Gilgamesh’s life (p.61). We are told that Gilgamesh lived repeatedly writing, which was a critical duty for a prominent figure such as a king in the society during those days. This way, we are convinced the Gilgamesh assumes a good life for human being as a life in which people are committed to duties one has been assigned to in the society.…
Tom Paine, Common Sense (1776) Introduction PERHAPS the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of custom. But the tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason. As a long and violent abuse of power, is generally the Means of calling the right of it in question (and in Matters too which might never have been thought of, had not the Sufferers been aggravated into the inquiry) and as the King of England hath undertaken in his own Right, to support the Parliament in what he calls Theirs, and as the good people of this country are grievously oppressed by the combination, they have an undoubted privilege to inquire into the pretensions of both, and equally to reject the usurpations of either. . . . The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind. Many circumstances have, and…

My professor has already approved the topic and said that it sounds like a great project. The first step of this research paper is to write ″Research proposal and annotated bibliography″ overall it should no more than 3 pages double spaced. My professor encourages to do multiple case studies, looking at the different cities that do have indigenous ecotourism, for example Cancun, park Xcaret or other cities and then to use those cities as role models and apply the state of knowledge about those cities to…

Resistance and Rebellion to Early Spanish Conquest and Colonization (1492-1550 Resistance against the Spanish conquest started with the killing of Spanish troops and the destruction of fort La Navidad, in 1493 mandated by the Taino cacique, Caonabo. The Taino people were depicted as peaceful during the Spanish invasion, but they did not sit around as the Spaniards destroy their country. Columbus was in charge of the conquest of the Taino. He left Navidad under the custody of his men. The local people were thought to be destitute of weapons and cowardly as they walked naked. When Columbus returned to Navidad, he learned with shock that Taino killed all his men in a revolt that spearheaded by Caonabo, chief of the Maguana, which is cacique in the heart of the Island (Altman, 21). The reason for hostility and the revolt was the activities and behavior of foreigners on the Island. The Spaniards stale local people’s properties, raped women and underage girls, and the awareness that the powerful Spaniards intended to remain in the Island formed the cause of the revolt and…
Thomas Nagel′s book What Does it All Mean? A Very Short Introduction to Philosophy The second paper is on a point that Nagel argues for in the second five chapters of the book. Like the first, it must be 3-4 double-spaced pages long. (Again, don′t ″fulfill″ the requirements with, e.g., extra-wide margins or extra-large font.) And, again, it needs three parts, as follows. The first part is a very short introductory paragraph that states a point Nagel makes in the second five chapters of the book, and that states whether you will agree or disagree. The point can be any point he makes, as long as he gives a number of reasons why it′s true (since, as you will see below, the first half of the paper is made up of his reasons or evidence for this point). The point need not be a quote. This first paragraph will look something like this: ″I agree (or disagree) with Nagel when he says that the moon is made of little mice.[unique_solution]″ You must either agree OR disagree, but not both. And…
