Benito Mussolini Benito Mussolini’s Revival of European Imperialism in North Africa and How he became Adolf Hitler’s Ally Benito Mussolini was known as an Italian journalist and politician, who became Italy’s Fascist Party dictator from 1925 to 1945. He was further becoming as the Prime minister of Italy from 1922 to 1943, after forging the paramilitary movement, which was in 1919. Besides, he led Italy constitutionally until the year 1943. Mussolini further established a dictatorship, after dropping the democracy of pretence. He was an inspirational leader who enthused several totalitarian rulers such as Adolf Hitler. Mussolini advanced the revival of European imperialism in North Africa, by reinforcing Fascism across Europe and most primarily in Italy. Although some leaders wanted to separate themselves from fascism system, their regimes were considered similar to that of Mussolini’s doctrine. However, the political elite members in Spain, such as the army and the Spanish monarchy, further established a new imperialism era in North Africa. This was realized after the creation of Morocco between 1912 and 1956. According to the Fascism believe, the strength of…
GENERAL ORDER 1 IN ARMY Generally, in army there are usually three orders which control the operations of the soldiers on their line of duty, the first order being “I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post when properly relieved.” This order implies that for any soldier who is on duty, he or she has to remain available and attentive to the assigned post. He or she is as well remains to be accountable for anything which might happen during his assigned duration in the post and therefore expected to be prompt and always on time without taking a break from the post up to the moment when he is set free by being replaced by another officer, who then takes on the same responsibilities which had been bestowed on the first soldier. Observing this order is of great importance especially for the officer on duty because he or she remains accountable for anything that might happen within the limits of this post while during the moments he is on duty. The soldier…
The Middle Passage The Middle Passage was the crossing of African slaves from Africa to America through the Atlantic Ocean. The slaves were stockpiled in massive cargo ships and shipped abroad to their new masters. The middle passage took the enslaved slaves away from their homeland; many of these slaves had never been on the sea before and did not know what awaited them once they arrived abroad. These voyages usually took six to eight weeks, but bad weather could increase the trips to thirteen or more weeks. Many slaves lost their lives through sickness, suicide and murder at the hands of the ship’s crew and captains. The few who made it alive were sold upon arrival. Slaves’ Experience Their owner-controlled almost every aspect of a slave’s life; this means that they had no freedom making the slave experience inhumane. The slave owners gave them new names and dictated what they could eat, where they slept, or the clothes they could wear. Many of the slaves were mistreated by their owners, who forced them to work for long hours with…
IDS Theoretical Framework Activity A good design is an exercise in limitation. An object design involves adding many features, drawing more lines, sculpting more surface, loading more options with the belief that the more the elements are added, the more value is provided to the consumer. A design refers to the ability to make transparent services or products’ purpose. There are different types of analytical frameworks, but the two analytical framework methodologies used in this paper are post-modernism and structuralism. Post-modernism Post-modernism is a style of critical strategic and rhetorical practices that employ concepts such as repetition, difference, the trace, the simulacrum and hyperreality to weaken other ideas such as identity, historical progress and univocity of meaning.(Plato.stanford.edu, 2015). Post-modernism fits the designing of a storeyed building and furniture. It creates buildings that have distinct features that are not compared with anything that had come before. There are postmodernist paintings with new colours to hang on the walls. The building structure is characterized by playfully extreme forms and the humour of the meaning it contains. This theoretical framework aims at solving…
Role of Technology in the Book 1984 It is evident that even though the technology was not as advanced in the book 1984, there are several key things that technology was used to propagate. The technology was in the form of telescreens as well as hidden microphones. The telescreens had been mounted in every house. The microphones were placed across the city, respectively. These forms of technology were mainly used in ensuring that the Party was able to monitor all the members all the time. In this case, the technology was being used by the Party to advance totalitarianism on its people. It is through this technology that the people were denied the chance to think on their own as well as be in a position to make their own decisions based on the issue of the Party and whether they felt that the Party was doing things in their favor or not. The Party, therefore, used technology to violate the privacy of the individuals. Even though there were no computers in 1984, the Party has advanced so much to…
Effective Listening Basic Leader Course (BLC) has been an excellent course that has provided me with useful information on good leadership. Effective listening is one of the best topics in the course. I was interested in this topic because communication is essential in the Army. If leaders in the Army lack good communication skills, conducting different missions will fail since passing the right message to the team will not be done in the right way. For communication to be successful, learning how to effectively listen is essential. This will involve being in a position to fully understand verbal and nonverbal cues used by the speaker. Effective listening is an important topic that helps Army leaders to be effective. Importance of Effective Listening Army leaders spend most of their time motivating people inside and outside their chain of command to improve decisions, thinking, and attract actions that will result in more exceptional outcomes. An effective Army leader effectively listens to words of a speaker and is interested in understanding their meaning. The listener ensures that they hear what the speaker wanted…
maintaining an apolitical and nonpartisan military Seemingly, today, maintaining an apolitical and nonpartisan military has become an issue of great concern to American democracy. The term military politicization is often used to describe a situation whereby service members actively express or engage in partisan political advocacy. While the US Constitution specifies the political neutrality of the military, adhering to this rule is becoming more difficult for service members. The potential pitfalls of military partisanship are severe and potentially catastrophic, including a lack of public trust in the government and the army discrimination based on service member partisanship. The military should serve the American people diligently, and having partisan service members limits the trust of the people it serves. If there is any military partisan affiliation, especially among senior officers, voters may assume that a particular political party is in control of the armed forces. This notion could instill a sense of coercion towards picking the party, seemingly controlling the military. Not only will this action damage American democracy by curtailing voters’ freedom to choose, but it will also hinder the…
Power of the Mind Psychology is a vast field that has come to help humans in the understanding of how the brain works. Through psychology, humans have been able to transcend many challenges and made it easier to handle even the most difficult of tasks. Most activities that are strenuous have been turned into simple tasks with the help of psychology. Sports and the military are two activities that can often be stressful and may require a lot of dedication from the participants. Sports and military psychology, as branches of psychology, has come to make athletes focus and perform better in different sports. Soldiers have been able to handle the stress that comes with being on battlefields for a long time. Additionally, psychology has allowed any athlete or military personnel to heal faster even after serious injuries. Without psychology athletes and military personnel would not conquer their greatest fears, they would plunder into depression, and it would take much longer for any of them to heal of injuries. Sports and military psychology are both extraordinarily vital for survival in high…
There is no authentic evidence that proves this to be true. Another legendary story is the “curse of Lake Lanier,” which involves a lake that people believe is haunted due to the number of lives it has claimed. There are several articles by different authors that support this theory, while others do not agree. Some reports suggest that the lives lost in lake Lanier was just an unfortunate accident and not because the lake is cursed. The legendary story is similar to the Bigfoot story in that in both stories; some people believe the legendary is real and those who think they are false. The two stories tend to show similarities when it comes to the pieces of evidence presented. Both the stories have no portion of unquestionable evidence to back up the several claims of different authors. Another similarity is the presence of fake evidence to back the stories. For instance, in the bigfoot story, the footprints seen were later discovered to be false similarly in the story of lake Lanier; it is found that the lake was built…
American evolution The Revolutionary War began in 1775 and lasted till 1783. As with every war, those involved each have their strengths and weaknesses. The British army and navy were considered the best in the world. They had numerous soldiers that were highly trained, paid and fed well, disciplined, and well equipped with quality weapons. The British Empire also provided funds, some of which were used to acquire additional Hessian soldiers from Germany. Many African and Native Americans were enticed to support the British with the promise of land and freedom. However, Britain was far from America, which made it slow and expensive to send supplies and troops across the Atlantic quickly. This distance also delayed important news about the war, which made planning difficult. The British leadership was never able to convince the people to support the war. Therefore, not many British volunteered to serve in the army. Also, since they were in an unfamiliar land, the soldiers did not know the layout of the area. And this made it hard for the British generals to strategize appropriately. At…
