Mumbai Hotel Attacks, Who Was Involved In November 2008, the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai was attacked by an armed gang and India imposed the usual charge on Pakistan’s head. Indian media screamed at Ajmal Kasab and his colleagues on the maritime route. In India, if someone touches a needle then it is not the case for Pakistan and ISI to be blamed. But sadly, his media even searched Ajmal Kasab’s house, family and address in Okara district, on television. Also show scenes from the house and the cows. Who was the mastermind of Mumbai Hotel Attack? Some anonymous columnists like myself and I used to speak and write that there was a lot of swing in the play, but the media, even many of our so-called rustic politicians, put the blame on Pakistan and gave evidence of “friendship”. Before us, our Interior Minister, Mr. Rehman Malik, planned and traveled with Ajmal Kasab and his colleagues before the incident so that everyone felt this happening in front of their eyes. There can be no great example of our patriotism and…
Letters from Iwo Jiwa Released in 2006, the “Letters from Iwo Jiwa” is a film that presents an account of the events that transpired in late 1944 in the battle for the control of Iwo Jima Island. The film is set in Iwo Jima, a seemingly barren island in the Pacific Ocean. Indeed, the island was an essential ring of defense for Japan. However, the Allies wanted to take control of the island and use it as an airbase for attacking mainland Japan, including Tokyo.[1] General Tadamichi Kuribayashi understood the strategic importance, and as he rallied his soldiers after the first attack by America, he told them, “our duty is to stop the enemy right here, Not one of you is allowed to die until you have ten enemy soldiers.”[2] The plot of the film is built around the General and Saigo, as the main characters. When the imperial headquarters refused to send reinforcement, General Tadamichi Kuribayashi decided to lead his few soldiers in to fight in honor of their country. After the first attack by Americans, the General is…
Police Brutality and Why Officers Should Be Punished Introduction There have been widespread reports of police brutality reported in several states in the United States. Police brutality is an example of police misconduct involving the abuse of authority during the unwanted use of excessive force by law enforcement personnel while performing their official duties. Police are considered to have used excessive force beyond what the officer considers necessary. The cases of use of excessive force have been reported during an arrest, an investigatory stop, or racial discrimination, false arrest, wrongful search, and seizure. Statistics show that police brutality deaths have been on the rise. Despite increased media coverages on brutality, these efforts haven’t led to any positive changes in the punishment of police officers involved in cases of brutality. It has been hard to track these cases due to the lack of police accountability. The rate of police indictment for officers involved in brutality remains less than one percent of the total cases witnessed. The thesis of this paper is to expand our knowledge of police brutality and why it…
Liberty Liberty as a value contrasts with equality. Since complete liberty leads to inequality, with some security measures in place, liberty can be compromised. Thus conflict arises as to what extent the value of security should be upheld. As the desire to uphold the value of safety and property stands, fairness can be challenged since poor people would have streets to congregate in and this may seem dangerous to individuals who may call the police when they feel their safety is threatened. In such cases, the government can help through creating a balance between these values to ensure that one is not exploited at the expense of others. For example, through increasing taxation as profits increase for businesses in a reasonable manner, the government can promote equity. Another example of government intervention is through provision of centers for congregation like community centers where all people can interact and share ideas. Relative to the constitution which stipulates the laws governing America, the declaration of Independence states that the people have the authority to rule and not the kings. It also states…
Founding Brothers Historical events Chance Founding brothers give praises to the founding fathers whose life had offered a chance to enjoy a god-like reputation due to their patriotism to save the nation, which was in captivity. The founding fathers had a chance to be emblematic of the revolutionary era as well as the nation that came about as an outcome. Even though in the revolutionary era, people wanted to do away with the god-like structure of the European monarchy, the founding fathers were and up to date are imbued with god-like status. The author says that they well deserve this chance. The author also says that the founding fathers had a chance to collaborate among men, leading to the shaping of the nation, America. The reign also gave a chance for politicians to be seen as gods. It is because they had a chance of operating through collaboration instead of the arbitrary, ultimate authority of a single headship or king. Finally, the new structure of political management depicted by the seven founding fathers of the revolutionary era was of a…
The State of Mexican Americans The rise of nationalism significantly helps fight against racism and other discriminatory vices. Moreover, it promotes the narrative of patriotism, unity, and concern for all residents within a country. The state of Mexican Americans has considerably changed since the rise of nationalism. Before the move, lots of discriminations of Mexican Americans were apparent in the U.S.A, especially in the southern and western states where the population of Mexicans was increasing spontaneously. Mexicans came to America due to loss of land resulting from domineering land reforms, reformation of agricultural marketplaces, hunger, and poverty that was apparent in Mexico. At the time, America in the southwest was experiencing labor-intensive farming industry insatiable by both indigenous and Africans workers. Mexican Americans provided cheap labor, and like the African-Americans, they were susceptible to social oppression. Moreover, during the great depression, cases of racism escalated. More Mexicans were incarcerated together with Africans as a form of punishment. Furthermore, even the smallest of offenses were subjected to unimaginable penalties. History provides references for learning from past realities. However, racism has become…
RACISM AMONG THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE IN CANADA Racism is a tool used in a society that creates a strong sense of national identity in safeguarding the citizen’s interests. The primary approach of racism is to make use of hate and marginalization of persons that defy the vastly acceptable norm of society in any form. The phenomena not only restricted in Canada but all over the world for a lot of centuries. Racism and anti-foreign sentiments in the 1900s were due to job insecurity that did exist locally from the situation of incoming migrant workers[1]. Nonnatives were highly discouraged in the nation as strain presented itself primarily due to the immigrants, thus affecting the social resources. The propaganda that is provocative and highly motivated had a role to play by developing a racial bias attitude amongst the public. In the twentieth century, the notions of racism and nativism were popular as they showcased the cynical nature of human beings that presented an opportunity of the superiority of certain races and values, bringing about the rejection of persons who did not…
