celebrity life
It is often argued that celebrities get fame because of media, and it is their choice to live in the limelight; therefore, they should not complain about media invading their private life. I completely disagree with this viewpoint, and I believe their privacy should be respected.
The fundamental reason why I am not in favour of this statement is that it affects their personal lives. To elaborate, different media outlets often invade the privacy of famous film stars, athletes and singers by chasing or stalking them to get more views and ratings. These media channels link famous personnel to other stars or post objectionable content about them, which result in a disturbance in their personal lives and often lead to break up with their partners. To exemplify this, a famous Indian actor Hrithik Roshan was linked to his co-star by media outlets which worsened his relationship with his wife and his marriage ended in divorce. Hence, the effects of media stalking on the personal lives of celebrities cannot be ignored. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
Furthermore, famous stars and athletes face security threats because of media invading their privacy. This is to say that their actions are monitored by the media and most of the time their views or actions are presented in such a way that it provokes the general public. Many receive death threats on social sites. Mahira Khan, a famous Pakistani film star, is the recent victim of this phenomena. She received severe threats from many fanatics when her pictures of smoking and drinking went viral. Therefore, it is understandable that media attention put famous people at risk.
To conclude, although entertainers and artists such as actors and musicians become famous because of media attention, I believe intruding their privacy should strictly be discouraged as it not only has negative impacts on their personal relationships but also results in security risk.
