. Challenges in the healthcare profession
In an ever-changing world influenced by various external and internal factors, healthcare is bound to be dynamic. Healthcare leadership becomes a massive challenge following the constant changes in practice, code of ethics, healthcare guidelines, and educational standards (Latham, 2015). Professionalism in the healthcare industry has developed different concepts due to the reforms on regulations. Healthcare leadership is now influenced by global concepts such as diversity, which requires optimization of the code of ethics to influence the success (Perez & Martin, 2014). Challenges in the healthcare profession result from the constant changes in ethics and standards to maintain growth in the system.
Given the fluid nature of the global healthcare system, professionals have to adapt to specific concepts for easy navigation in the system. According to Stymiest (2016), the challenges resulting from ethical codes and standards pose high risks for healthcare quality. Health care leaders must stay up to date on the code and standards changes to avoid any risks associated with patient care. Leaders are often concerned about how these changes affect the role of healthcare practitioners and relevant staff (Stymiest, 2016). Appropriate educational standards have to be integrated to ensure every professional in the healthcare system is prepared for unpredictable situations.
In this course, I have learned the significance of maintaining patient care regardless of environmental and institutional changes, hence the need to focus on incorporating relevant code of ethics. The changes in healthcare ethics and standards are meant to improve patient care; therefore, leaders have to be prepared to accommodate such changes. The globalized nature of modern healthcare has become challenging in terms of integrating diversity. However, I have employed motivational strategies that inspire continuous commitment to improving healthcare and maintain healthcare standards. Motivational strategies promote accountability, advocacy, and competence, thus fostering professionalism in the system.
