I agree…, changes in technology, as we understand every well, incline to provoke cultural and linguistic change, too. It is the reason why you cannot assume you have a common meaning for the words we use, some times a year; dictionaries proclaim the addition of new and typically very trendy words. The fast speed at which the internet has moved in and changed our lives has an impact on the language and terms we use. For instance, it is many years since the creation of website Dictionary.com, and it has viewed back at the past to understand how the world wide web has generated further definitions to several commonly used words. It is the same thing happening the two terms; Religion and Christian.
How words and our life histories affect the sharing and understanding of information
Words and life histories when articulated and said in the right manner, can change our minds. They can change our beliefs. Words can bring us from the slums of life and make us successful out of them, or destroy our contentment. As such, a choice of our words can make the difference between someone denying or accepting our information.
How the meaning of words causes miscommunication in our day to day lives
The words we use when talking to others are compelling and could change their attitude, behavior, or perception at the blink of an eye. These effects can also cause miscommunication which leads to misunderstanding and loss in communication which can cause many things to fail. Depending on the situation, a word can create a multitude of different feelings, emotions, and reactions. People react differently to different terms based on how they are being used. While others may think that it is funny, some may find it very offending so, throughout your communication, you must choose your words carefully.
A time when this happened to me
While at the workplace, I usually hear people joking with one another about numerous things to include race. To most, this would probably seem very wrong but what they do not know is they are a tight group of friends and not only do they work together, most of them are roommates and hang out almost every day after work.
