            Globally, child labour has remained to be a barrier and a challenge to the children’s well-being. Child labour cases have declined by a third each year for the past 15 years. A gradual decrease of child labourers has been experienced in the world, according to the International Labor Organization report. In this case, child labour cases declined from 246 to 152, respectively, in the year 2000-2016. However, millions of children have continued to be exploited for cheaper labour, especially in the developing world, such as India.

In India, approximately 12.9 million children aged 7 to 17 years old are often engaged in work; thus, the children are less likely to attend school. Most of the Indian children, including both genders of girls and boys, are often involved in working daily in factories, quarries and selling cigarettes on streets. These children help their families by making ends meet by working every day for 16 hours. According to ILO estimations, child labour in India starts between 5 to 14 years of age, in which, over 10.1 million children are engaged in work.

Moreover, from an economic perspective, globalization has affected the child labour demand directly in India. This is because an increase in household income leads to an escalation in the child labour supply in the short term. Conversely, in the long run, globalization has perpetuated household poverty in India. This is because many children that are sent to work have not sufficient human capital, such as skills and education.

Nevertheless, an innovative solution to end child labour in India could be spreading awareness. Educating parents on the harms of child labours will help in preventing school disruptions and forcing children into work. Creating awareness will help in ensuring that the community is connected to some opportunities such as education, growth, enterprise and employment. This will further assist in creating an economically and socialized society in which the children may not suffer. Besides, NGO corporations will assist in providing educational resources, accessing information services and creating income resources. The NGOs will help in educating the community on the importance of child rights through some community events such as sports and theatre.

Additionally, some challenges, such as lack of interest and communication, are anticipated during the awareness project. Most of the people in the community may not consider the child labour topic vital since they may not take it as a severe case. Thus, only a few people might be dedicated to the program. On the other hand, India is a cultural and religious country; therefore, many people often follow their customs strictly. Thus, a definite mode of communication would be considered useful to society. In this case, the child awareness education should not be set in a way that would not undermine their cultural or religious practices. The topics should primarily be focused on educating the community regarding the dangers of child abuse. Effective communication will assist in creating an understanding of the impact of child labour in India.

In conclusion, child labour has emerged to be a global effect that has affected many children. India has recorded a higher number of children who are deprived of their education rights and instead forced into work. Creating awareness among the parents in India will help in curbing child labour cases. Eventually, NGOs can be incorporated to save costs by providing necessary resources, which are needed in creating awareness regarding child labour.
