“Clair de lune”
“Clair de lune” is an exquisite masterpiece that was developed by the French composer known as Claude Debussy. This song had the meaning “moonlight,” and it was from the collection of several poems “Fetes Galantes” by artist Paul Verlaine. Clair de lune is regarded as a masterpiece full of innovation since it was built in different decorations, thus displaying smooth rhythm. In this music, tones and notes almost share similar frequency throughout the whole masterpiece, although a slight variation is seen in tones. This music had mostly referred to be romantic and used in wedding ceremonies since its notes appreciate and depreciate accordingly and eventually advance to higher lovely tones, thus building an unforgettable tune.
Besides, the song had organized in such a way that it has low and high frequencies, which alternate effectively as the song progresses. Sometimes the work moves to irregular intervals for a moment despite its unity in action and later changes back to regular unity. Claude uses dissonance in this song, “Clair de lune,” which demonstrates a unique feature. The two essential elements of music portrayed in this song, and are in the book ” Art of being Human 11th edition by Richard Janoro are; lyrical and sprightly mood full of romance and second elements are peaceful and soothe impressions which are introduced by first elements. These two essential elements of the song are properly worked and artistically presented throughout the song, “Clair de lune.” Additionally, this song relaxes the minds of the audiences when played in an event.
The “clair de lune” song is apollonian since it displays many features of Apollonian music. Although, to some extent, the tones of the song exhibits both Dionysian and Apollonian characteristics. The artist Claude makes it purely Apollonian through précising and considerably analyzing the structure and composition materials of the song. Truly the attention of all famous artists is captured in this masterpiece. This song is unique to other songs since it offers a quiet place for the audience to fantasize about life and its meaning.
Additionally, Claude’s work displays deep emotional feelings and a feeling of romance. These feelings enable one to recall when evoked since they bring up memories and experiences which are exciting. Generally, the concepts of this music, such as rhythm and melody, are arranged in a manner that they heavily rely on sound standards that can be considered relevant as Apollonian.
Furthermore, the ordinary and identifiable similarity between the artistic movement and impressionism movement is that both movements point to initiate a particular mood among the users of the masterpiece. The analytic thought had not based on the sound and dimension of the masterpiece, for example, two or three dimensions; instead, it is about the emotions of the music. Both these two movements unlatch a person’s mind and induce deep feelings. In modern days Impressionism, both musical and artistic movements have found to disobey customary principles that relate to music discipline. In contrast, these two movements vary whereby creative movement demonstrates the perspectives of life through visual impression while musical movement does not. According to Debussys’s chords allows the sound of the music to flow rather than hindering it, thus disobeying traditional rules such as Avant-grade form. Finally, musical movement demonstrates feelings, while artistic movement creates visual impressions and pictures.
