Clutches (Shaft Mounted)
L-600 Clutches (Shaft Mounted), Inch
This clutch works with a maximum torque of 518 inch-pounds at a pressure of 80 psi (pound per square inch). The clutch works at an optimum speed of 3600 revolutions per minute (RPM), maximum transmitted power of 10 horsepower (HP), highest progressive heat dissipation of 0.75 horsepower (HP), and biggest bores of 1.188 inches. The clutches are designed with sealed ball bearings and splined hubs. They come in several versions; pilot mount model, integral sheave model, pilot sheave model, and coupling models. When a caliper brake and optional disc are added, some of these clutches can serve as clutch-brakes.
M-800 Clutches (Shaft Mounted), Metric
These clutches are designed to support a maximum torque of 126 Nm at a pressure of 5.5 bar and speed of 3600 revolutions per minute. Further, they support 7.5 kW of maximum transmitted power, 0.75 kW of progressive heat dissipation, and bores of up to 40 mm. Notable features of these clutches include splined hubs and sealed ball bearings. The clutches come only in the pilot model.
L-600 Clutches (Shaft Mounted), Metric
This is one of the common types of clutches today. It supports optimal torque of 58.5 Nm at a pressure of 5.5 bar, highest speed of 3600 revolutions per minute, 7.5 kW of transmitted power, 0.56 kW of progressive heat dissipation, and 30 mm of bores. The clutches are designed with splined hubs and sealed ball bearings and come only in the pilot mount model.
F-450 Clutches (Shaft Mounted), Metric
These clutches are designed with a static capacity of maximum 22.2 Nm at a pressure of 5.5 bar, optimal speed of 3600 revolutions per minute, 3.7 kW of transmitted power, 224W of continuous thermal dissipation and 20 mm bores. Also, the clutches are made with splined hubs and sealed ball bearings. Note that they are only sold in pilot mount modes.
F-450 Clutches (Shaft Mounted), Inch
These F-450 clutches are designed to support a maximum of 196 inch-pounds at a pressure of 80 pounds per inch, optimum speed of 3600 revolutions per minute (rpm), transmitted power of maximum 5 horsepower (HP), 0.3 horsepower of progressive heat dissipation, and bore sizes of maximum 0.875 inches. The clutches are available in three main types; the pilot mount model, the integral sheave design, and the coupling format. Further, caliper brake and optional disc on some of these clutches can help to transform them into clutch-brakes.
DFE/ Quad Plate/ QFE Dual Clutch Elements
The QFE clutches and DFE clutches are designed with 4 and 2 friction coefficients. The DFE types are made to support high torque of between 12,300 and 151,000 inch-pounds at a pressure of 80 pounds per inch. The QFE is every stronger, supporting maximum torque of between 24,600 and 302,000 inch-pounds at a pressure of 80 pounds per inch. The highest operating speed for the two clutches is between 800 rpm and 2200 rpm.
MDO Modular Flange or Foot Mounted Clutches
The MDO modular clutches are the recommended type of clutches if you have very demanding operations. They are designed to provide more torque and come with an open design that provides a better thermal rating compared to the FM clutch series. When using this clutch, the flange directly mounts to the motor, NEMA C-face type, with a maximum of 10 hp. Further, the clutches come with a drip-proof sealing kit that helps to protect the clutch if your machine will be operating in wet environments. To make the clutch more versatile for use with chains, belts, and couplings, you will also get optional units Input and Foot Mount units.
FMCE Flange Mounted Clutches
These clutches are considered ideal if your machine or system works in dirty or hostile environments. The clutch system is totally enclosed so that no dirt, water, or moisture can easily get inside and contaminate the system.
B-275 Clutches (Shaft Mounted), Inch
These clutches provide a maximum torque of 100 inch-pounds at a pressure of 80 pounds square inch (PSI), optimum speed of 3600 revolutions per minute, maximum of 1.0 HP of transmitted power, optimal 0.13 HP of progressive heat dissipation, and largest bores of 0.625 inches. The clutches come with sealed, bearings (ball type), and splined hubs. These clutches are of three main types: coupling, integral sheaves, and pilot mount.
