Definition

A code of ethics refers to the principles guide designed to assist the professional business in a supportive and integrity manner. Its also encompasses areas like professional practice code, business ethics and workers code of conduct.

Summary

Organizations need to be sure of ethical means in organizations. It’s through the codes of ethics where the business operates properly. The author further explained that codes of ethics make it simple for the company to implement an ethical culture to win the association, which is vital towards company achievement. Codes of ethics is not only relevant to the success of the company. Danley suggested that the leaders within the organization should serve as ana example towards the success of the organization as well. Presence of codes of ethics without practise by some of the management leaders might make some employee not stick to what is required for the company to succeed. Therefore, leaders should ensure the principles of honesty and integrity are followed by showing the right example. The author’s opinions about the code of ethics are important because they enable people to know the relevance of having codes of ethics within the company.

Discussion

Various factors make companies competitive and successful enough. How a company behaves towards minor things determines a lot the success of that company. There are some organizations which don’t consider small problem employee when they occur within the company. Some of the issues like cheating to the employer, falsifying documents sometimes might be left without confrontation. Such kind of actions when not bothered might affect the employee’s sense of making reliable decisions. The management might be willing to help employees through the leader, but some of the employees might not be willing to comply. Codes of ethics cant make an organization successful without honesty and faithful practices by people within the company. The management should, therefore, develop policies which ensure that all employees follow what is required from them and failure to comply; they should be exposed to the relevant authorities for punishment.

However, sometimes it’s the leaders who mislead other people through the way they act. Some of the leaders, especially those selfish ones, might not follow the set guidelines, and if they follow, they do so to benefit themselves. Such kind of leaders might make employees feel even the code of conduct set for them to develop not relevant. For the company to succeed, everyone taking part within the company should play his/her role. Its, therefore, for the employees to follow the right routes as well as the leaders. People in top management should try their best to ensure that employees follow the correct path if any of their leaders does not show the right way to the employees should be shown the best way to support and how to guide employees to perform better. Therefore, the management should come up with necessary frameworks to ensure everyone, including the management strictly follow policies governing ethical practices.
