Community college education should be free to all residents living in the Camp Bell county in Tennessee
Over the last years, college cost has rapidly been rising more than inflation in the USA. Currently, many jobs require at least a college degree, thus making it hard for people without higher education. In today’s society, education has become a necessity; hence, many people are out of reach from acquiring knowledge due to the costs of attaining higher education. Conversely, in modern life, the debate that revolves around free community college has become controversial. This is because there has been no law that helps in supporting the debate. For example, Camp Bell county, in Tennessee State in the United States, has been offering free tuition to students. A scholarship known as “Tennessee Promise” is dedicated to helping those people who cannot afford to pay for their higher education. Lake County in Michigan, on the other hand, has been recording a higher rate of college turnovers. This is because the majority of people are unable to provide education; thus, they end up dropping out of school. However, since education is considered as a vital part of life, the community college should be free to all residents in Lake County Bell. Free community college education in Lake County will help in impacting society positively.
Many people will disagree when I say that the first two years of community college should be free. One of the biggest controversies that surround the notion of a free community college education is the issue of refunding enormous cost, which comes as a result of offering free training. A free community college attracts people who are unfit for the college environment and further dropped out from school. This increase of students in community colleges increases taxes for taxpayers. In this case, free community college provides an opportunity for residents to receive financial aids, such as a scholarship. The amount of funds incurred by the government in educating the residents is further retrieved after the students get employed. The number of skills attained as a result of free community college will help in compensating the amount of money used by the government after the individuals get employed. Thus, free community college should be free, especially to Lake county residents.
Additionally, according to some recent studies, a college education is regarded as a pathway to a more stable life, especially in financial aspect to all people. Some research further shows that no other investment can outdo the long-term and short-term investment of higher education in society. For instance, establishing free community colleges in Lake County will help in more economic activity than a similar-sized tax cut. This helps many residents to generate more taxes, which further improves the economy of the county.
Moreover, free community college education should be provided to all residents in Lake county in order to progress the society at a faster rate. This is because educated individuals within society can help in solving problems. Also, community education will help residents to know their current economic conditions and history. In this case, many people in Lake County will be inclined towards improving their economy by participating in some politics. Besides, accessing more people in a community college education will help in increasing the number of employable people for high-skilled jobs in the county. This means providing free college education to the Lake county residents will assist in lessening the wealth gap between lower, middle, and upper class since more people will be joining the workforce.
Furthermore, a shift in the workforce is experienced through technological progressions. Residents need to be taught and retrained skills for the job due to the current technological advancement. Automated jobs have replaced most low skill workers. Automation is deemed to spread rapidly, especially across positions, which require repetition such as back up office work. Though automation is not meant to replace the entire workforce, most economies’ needs are shifting, which will require a more skilled workforce. In this scenario, individuals’ creative thinking abilities and analytical will be of high demand for jobs. However, analytical and creative skills are only honed through a college education. Thus the workforce could expand if residents are provided free community education (Rodriguez 57). In addition, the educated workforce will further be active and responsive to replace some industries, especially when one industry flatters and causes an economic downtown. Free community college education should be implemented in order to help residents in gearing their studies towards thriving industries. This will further assist Lake County residents in being more equipped towards coping with some economic changes.
Nevertheless, the economy can only be stimulated when people get access to education; thus, free community education needs to be provided to all residents in Lake County. Stimulation of the economy occurs when people are allowed to graduate without debts in school (Hollenbeck 9). It has been approximated that most individuals, especially in Lake county, have a massive amount of debt. Thus, such students are likely to add more interest to their debts, which further makes them take many years before managing to settle the debt. In this case, many people are often delayed in buying houses or cars due to the struggle of paying the amount of school fees. Conversely, residents would have a fast trackability of earning, saving, and spending money when free community education would be provided. More demand is often obtained when consumer spending increases. More demand in spending often related to higher workforce demand, which further creates more employment opportunities in society. This also leads to a positive cycle of economic activity. Besides, more people will be motivated into learning when free education will be provided to Lake County residents. This is because many people are afraid of debt; thus, they are hindered from continuing with their education.
Nonetheless, a channel towards attaining equality in society will be towards providing affordable education. Most of the occupants in Lake county find it hard to afford education. Many people come from low-income households, thus often back from continuing their education due to a lack of money or funds. An equal opportunity would be created if everyone would have a chance of attending a college (Grier 80). However, establishing a free community college should be established in Lake County to help low-income people attain education and improve their skills and talents.
Additionally, an introduction to new levels of education is provided when people are allowed to specify their courses of interest. Unlike the modern education structure, which is focused on giving creativity based on a specific major at the expense of money or funds, the free college will offer opportunities for exploring various majors (Caniëls 271). This will help people in the community to learn various skills that will further increase the level of innovation in the county. Thus, it will help in boosting the county’s economy.
Also, free college education should be considered as a way of encouraging many people in the county to continue with their education. In this case, many people who have a high school diploma will be allowed to continue with their education. A free college education will provide an incentive for some individuals to go back to school after a dropout. Also, it will help to cover people who have not invested in earning a higher education.
Moreover, earning a free community education contributes to adding value to certain degrees from specific institutions. This is because college graduates are at a high rate of being employed in the industry of their choice. Also, the free community college will help some students to advance their education to a bachelor’s degree in the future. Community college, in this case, is often considered as the right place of starting a future successful way.
Likewise, many people will focus better on their studies, since they would be no worry concerning paying money. College is deemed expensive, especially to people who come from challenging financial situations. For instance, in the United States, the average Pell grant covers approximately 30 percent of the total cost of the tuition fee (Davidson et al. 14). However, if all debt is covered, students will concentrate more on their education. In this case, students will not be focused on searching for jobs to pay for their expenses. Free community education will offer chances of better grades among many students, thus enhancing job opportunities in the future.
In addition, according to some studies, a large number of idlers in Lake county are often the ones that had dropped out of colleges and others who had finished high school. Due to the state of idleness, many of these people engage in various crimes to earn money. This is because such individuals lack employment due to high market competition. The industries are in high demand for competent people; thus, individuals without necessary skills are often ignored by employers. Conversely, many individuals who do not attend colleges end up involving in some suspicious activities. Most of them often indulge in acts of crimes such as stealing, murder, and selling drugs. This is because many people who do not afford college fees are from lower-income families, thus strive to do all they can, including committing crimes in order to survive. This is the reason that makes community college to be free in Lake County. Free education will help in curbing the issue of criminality among residents. This is because many people will be offered training without any cost to learn various skills, which will help them in the future. A free community college will be used as a way of bringing society together, creating a state of harmony.
In conclusion, in Lake County, Michigan State, free community college education should be made free to every resident. This is because free education is considered a bridge in which many people will become innovated; thus, the skills acquired are used in boosting the economy. Besides, employment among many people could only be created through the acquisition of various courses. This, free education could be the primary way of making Lak county residents attain their skills and be competitive while seeking job opportunities. Eventually, free community college should be considered in Lake county to curb the high level of criminality.
