Compare and Contrast the Lives of Male and Female

Introduction

Male and female portray differences physically, biologically, and their roles to society. Gender explains the purposes of the two groups in society and provides mental perceptions towards either sex. For instance, society portrays a pink colour for the females and blue for the males. Consequently, high heels depict female while low flat shoes for the male. Biologically, variations in height between men and women are evident in the X and Y chromosomal differences (Dallinga). The purpose of this paper is to explore the differences between and women. The article will expose the differences in gender roles, biological, and morphological differences.

Gender roles and societal perceptions

Male and female dressing styles are a vast difference between male and female. The high-heeled shoes are depicted to be meant for the female while low and flat shoes intended for the male. However, the initial perception of high heeled shoes was for the upper-classmen who use them when hunting on horseback. As females started wearing them, the ones for male grew shorter and flatter as those for females grew taller and thinner (Sanchez et al.). With time the perception for high-heeled shoes became feminine. Generally, society perceives male to use flat shoes and females high-heeled shoes.

The society has a perception that male is stronger than women. Therefore, gender roles which require muscular are directed to the male while easier chores for the female. Traditionally, general house chores are meant for the female while heavy-duty for the male. The roles are gradually changing, but still, the society holds the perception that natural duties are for the women.

Biological and physical differences

Morphologically, the internal and external genital organs serve as a significant tangible difference between men and women. The genital organs for the female are barely flat while those for the male are elongated. On the side of the breasts, men mostly have tiny breasts while those in females are larger and conspicuous. The differences in breasts sizes result from large amounts of estrogen hormone in female as men have large quantities of testosterone hormones.

Biology explains that men are made of the Y chromosomes while females by the X chromosomes. The X chromosome has a high number of genes compared to that of the Y, which is perceived as incomplete. The X chromosome, therefore, stays in the female system for long (over 72 hours) while that of Y for only eight hours. Therefore, there are higher chances of conceiving a baby-girl during reduction that that of a baby-boy (Yoshizaki). The incomplete Y chromosome further explains the weaker immunity evident in male as compared to that of the female. Biologically, men tend to die at an earlier age as compared to their female counterparts. The chromosomal difference explains why we have a vast difference in population between males and females. The X chromosome is perceived to be shorter as compared to the Y chromosome, making the male taller than females. Generally, the chromosomal differences explain the difference in high immunity for women than men and taller man than women.

Conclusion

Male and female depict an array of differences in life. The differences result from sex and gender aspects. The gender differences are those that are planted in both genders by society and its perceptions while sex explains the biological differences. The community perceives men to be more muscular than women (Dallinga). Further, gender explains that women prefer pink colour and wear high-heeled shoes as men prefer blue and wear flat shoes. Biologically, the difference between men and women starts from conception as men are products of Y chromosomes and female X chromosomes. The X chromosome has a high number of genes and thus boosting immunity in females than males.
