Connection, Collaboration, and Community

A prosperous society is constructed by morals and practices that promote happiness among all the members. Connection, collaboration, and altruism are various forms of social constructs that encourage fairness and unity in society. Various challenges occur in the modern world that can only be handled by a united society. Each community consists of vulnerable groups who require support from the other members of society to handle life problems. Connection, collaboration, and altruism can conquer poverty and other life challenges through strengthening community bonds.

Altruism is a moral value that makes individuals become concerned with their fellow community members. Altruism individuals are charitable, unselfish, and generous to others (Heger & Slonim, 2019). For instance, altruism individuals can perform generous tasks such as donating blood or kidneys to help others for free. Social connection is an important social construct that promotes positive among all the community members. The connection is a fundamental human need that caused individuals to feel loved and close to others. Through social connection, individuals become concerned with the entire community at large instead of oneself. Physical and psychological health is vital for social development. Since connection makes people feel valued, it promotes phycological and physical well-being in society. A prosperous society is the one that works on achieving common goals. The modern world is faced with many problems that can only be conquered through altruism, connection, and community collaboration (Ferrins & Pollastri, 2017). Poverty is a world problem that is currently affecting many individuals across the world. Some of the negative effects of poverty are starvation, and lack of essential life facilities such as education and clothing. The vulnerable groups in society suffer the negative effects of poverty. Examples of vulnerable groups in society include physically challenged individuals and mentally impaired individuals. Altruism is a social value that enables individuals to perform charitable roles in society. If society embraces the value of altruism, individuals will arise to educate and provide basic needs to the vulnerable groups, which is one step towards defeating poverty in society. International pandemics have adverse effects on the world economy. Currently, the world is fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Bold measures taken to reduce the spread of COVID-19 has caused many individuals to lose their jobs. Also, many individuals have been isolated from their loved ones. Through social connection, individuals can provide moral support to their isolated friends, which enhances mental health in society. Through embracing social connection, the adverse effects of depression and stress can be avoided in society. Collaboration allows different individuals to share ideas. The world is racing with time to develop a vaccine for the COVID-19. Through collaboration, a vaccine can easily be developed because this social construct allows the exchange of ideas, which is necessary in solving world problems. Altruism, connection, and collaboration creates a united and caring society, which is vital in comparting global warming and terrorism.

Altruism, connection, and collaboration can be instilled in society through various programs and policies (Cleveland & Cleveland, 2018). Some community programs provide an opportunity where the young population meets with the elderly. Through the interaction, young people gain some experience from the elderly on how to solve some common youthful problems, which encourages collaboration in society. Other community programs allow people with disabilities to raise their voices. The programs provide an opportunity where disabled people can outline the challenges they encounter in life. In the process, some individuals pledge to support disabled people, which encourages altruism behavior in society. Inclusion programs connect people with different views and cultural practices together. For example, inclusion classrooms combine both normal students with disabled students. From the program, normal students learn the importance of being concerned with the well-being of vulnerable individuals, which enhances social connection. More effective policies aimed at uniting society members should be implemented, which is essential for enhancing altruism, connection, and collaboration in society.

In conclusion, altruism, connection, and collaboration are interrelated social constructs that promote happiness in society. Altruism makes individuals become unselfish, which promotes equity in society. Altruism individuals are always willing to assist disadvantaged individuals. Helping vulnerable groups in society promotes development and happiness in the community. The social connection enables people to feel loved by the other community members. Through social connection, depressed people feel valued, which enhances mental fitness in society. The modern world is faced with various challenges. Since collaboration allows different people to exchange ideas, collaboration can initiate sustainable solutions to the most challenging world problems. Programs aimed at creating equal, united, and peaceful society should focus on instilling altruism, connection, and collaboration in society.
