Creating a Positive Social Change
The social issue that I chose to explore in the final essay was the issue of education access to society members, especially the young generations. Education is a social institution that touches across all the sectors of life. Education is the main tool that can be used to change society, and indeed, it has been witnessed in various nations.
Through sociological imagination, you can be able to easily understand the social issue of education. Education has helped in meeting the needs of society members. At the same time, it has contributed to the various conflicts that are witnessed in society. The functionalism sociological perspective provides a clear explanation of how social institutions play a vital role in meeting society demands (Chisholm, 2015). Access to education among many community members has been a guarantee of improved quality of life.
However, there is a challenge of the inequality that is still depicted by the same social issue of education as a social institution. The inequality in access to education is due to the different social, economic class we have in society tend to create these inequalities that bring conflicts in society. For instance, the people in the high social, economic class can access quality education while the people with low socio-economic classes are unable to (Chisholm, 2015). As a result, their life quality changes while the other counterparts remain to languish in low quality. To bring awareness to the problem is through the establishment of programs that will assist the provision of quality education services to also people in poor communities to bridge the gap of inequality. Besides, advocating for the government to improve its effort of improving the quality of education across all society groups. For the confidence level of the essay, the essay has enough areas that need to be considered on the conflict aspect of the social issue to society.
