Cuban music
Over many years there has been rationalization of notions that authenticate music within American popular music genres. The most crucial part when this happened is around the 20th century. Discursive construction is a narrative act since one needs to provide a resolution to the dilemmas that they feel and those that are real. Examples of song genres in America are the rock and roll genres. These are examples of the hybrid songs sung by Nat “king” Cole. This singer has brought forth the imagined notion of the “authentic black music”. According to the existing racial styles, these songs are taken to have marginalized Coles. Efforts to consolidate the African American and afro- Caribbean music forms need specific discursive crafting of narratives. These efforts have placed musicians like John Birks “Dizzy” as music internationalism. This kind of music mostly pass message related to the current state of the political system in Cuba. Cuban music is against corruption in the government and advocates for all people to be treated with equity.
During the 1960s, the African American music was dominated by female gender with both popular and unpopular forms of music. The female gender pass message to the society regarding to the current state of women in the country. Accordingly women should be given opportunities to work like men in high government offices and not be seen as inferior anymore. However this music had been differentiated in the market places by it transcend based on vernacular roots. Male dominated music was majorly characterized by the rural bluesman. These efforts reveal the deep seat anxieties that existed between the anti-capitalist and commercial forms of music. More differences expressed include the cultural influence on music and the social political situations of the African Americans.
Dissertations are evident in the differences of music forms of the time. This brings out anomalies events and situations which do not make sense. They even do not make any call to the sense of humanity. The assault of Nat Cole in Birmingham and Alabama is comparatively ancient and quite primitive. On the other hand, Bob Dylan’s performance on the Newport Folk festival was not sensible at all. According to Lomax the performances ought to be provoked by public questioning. To Lomax, the issue of authenticity between the electric and the butter field bands has no chance of survival.
In Cuba the rock and roll music was a showbiz since it expressed the powers and the efficiency of music in the teenage groups. Folk music having given rise to the rock and roll music was far much better than having the butter field band that was much focused on territorial politics of the Newport Folk Festival.
I think that banning of any music based on racism or cultural differences should be eradicated. It is the time that people lived closely interrelate and assimilate others. Copying from other people’s way of life enhances and enriches cultures. From the documentary, all the forms of music displayed live impacts in the society with even much better impacts coming from the African American influenced music. Much of the music genres with the white nature are influenced by territorial politics. This basis leaves out the idea of giving light to the society and rather bringing in racism. Having music genres that in cooperate multicultural origins prove to be more significant with good impacts in the society. This means that imposing a ban on music and other related business activity based on racist values shows primitivism and decline in morality.
