TASKS:
- Hootsuite Test – Individual Task – 50 Marks
- First complete the Hootsuite PLATFORM training. Login instructions wer provided by your professor.
- You will be taking the Hootsuite Platform Certification Test, 50 questions, 60 minutes IN CLASS.
- Note that 75% is required for Hootsuite certification, but students do not require 75% for purposes of the MGMT223 course. Students seeking this certification may decide to take the test again at a later date in the event they do not obtain this score on the first attempt.
- SUBMIT: The Hootsuite Test score is displayed at the end of the test. Screen capture the Hootsuite Test score results and ensure your name is showing. Paste screen capture into Word document, save as PDF, and upload PDF to the individual student dropbox. (Individual mark)[unique_solution]
- Hootsuite Company Social Media Customer Relationship Management – Group Task — 44 marks, 4 marks each
- Imagine that you are a team of entrepreneurs who just started a business (e.g., College Student Tutoring business, Food Truck business, Dog Walking business, Catering business, Restaurant, Shipping, etc.).
Create a company name for your business as you will use it within your company’s social media networks. Ensure the name is representative of what your company does, offers, or believes in. Conduct research on the best practices in creating a “good” company name. “AAA” is not a good name.
- Create a company logo and use it within your social media. Ensure the logo represents your company. Research “best practices for designing company logos”. You may use PowerPoint to create logos, Paint, Photo Shop, or any other software you wish. Be aware of intellectual property rights (you cannot use a

logo that another company owns).
- Create a TAB in Hootsuite for Twitter and entitle the tab, “Twitter Company Name” where Company Name is the name of your company.
- Create a second TAB for a social platform of your group’s choice. Select a platform where you think your customers will be. Name the tab the social network name and company name, as above.

- Add TWO Streams under each Social Network TAB using the option buttons available.
Ensure your team understands what information these streams provide and how they might use them from a company perspective. Ensure information appears within each stream, if not, your team may need to act as a customer and make some posts (be professional and make the posts as close to a real business situation as possible).
- Add ONE Keyword search stream under Twitter using multiple words. Search for something your company would want to monitor. Ensure this is relevant to your business as your team will need to explain why they selected these.
- Add ONE Other Search to Twitter, other than multiple keywords. For example, you might use a hashtag search or a geo search in Twitter. Ensure this is relevant to your business as your team will need to explain why they selected this.
