Dangerous Woman: Kellyanne Conway

            The participation of women in politics is significantly low. Even when women get to participate in politics and run for various offices, significantly few women get to be elected into political offices. Once women engage in politics and various electoral positions, the views that the public has on the change. These women are seen as defying the general norms associated with women, including being motherly and nurturing. Women, including Hillary Clinton, and Sarah Palin, for instance, faced these discriminatory treatments until they engaged in factors that the general public considered to be related to women. Some of these women face discrimination and prejudice as a result of their political involvement, forcing them to resign. There are however women, who despite the public judgment use available means to rise in their political aspirations. Kellyanne Conway, is not an exception to the fact. her political involvement in the politics have seen her being labelled as dangerous to the society. while in some cases the perceived notion of danger may be justifiable, women are mainly labeled as dangerous following their political involvements as they are thought to defy the general norms related to women and instead act in ways associated with masculinity.

The involvement that Kellyanne Conway in the regime of president Donald Trump presents her as dangerous. The involvement has determined the various career ranks that she has held in the regime. Kellyanne, in her career, has defies the standard rules and expectations of the society that, make the women highly perceive to serve as a counsellor to the president in the regime of President Donald Trump (May 2018).  Her service as the senior counsellor to President Trump follows her ability to successfully be the first woman to run the presidential campaigns in the United States. the determination that Kellyanne puts into the development of her career defies the general notion that view women as gentle, calm and nurturing. she defies the stereotype that suggests that in comparison to women, men are more prone to aggression (Gavin & Porter, 2014).  The career description is a factor that could have a significant effect on the normal woman in the United States and possibly other women across the world. Through her career progress, Conway has established a definite career path and objectives, not afraid to state her goals. The approach she takes in developing her career, portrays her to the public as a dangerous woman. she attempts to use all possible means in the achievement of her objective. Conway has, for instance, sought to increase her alignment with the president and the daughter of the president, Ivanka Trump to generate favour from the president. These alignments present hers as dangerous as she uses manipulation from the created alliances to achieve her career objectives.

Conway defied the ethical standards that prohibit the use of the public and state offices to push for private agenda. She publicly stated in a televised interview that she would support the fashion line of Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter. The declaration brought about the dangerous notion as she sought to use the office she held to push for personal gains. her move is hidden by the perceived gender norms that present women as honest and gentle. her move is further facilitated by the fact that women are known to register low paranoia radar (Vronsky, 2007).  Her move went against the intentions of Ivanka trump of having her private business not politicized. According to the nation and the ethical watch bodies, she defied ethical factors related to her office as the counsellor to the president. However, she presented an unapologetic approach by boasting of her connection with the president. She suggests that the president is aware of the personal sacrifices she made to support his presidential bid. Her perceived implication is that she cannot undergo disciplinary actions or lose her office as the president is indebted to her, a factor that presents her as having dangerous impacts on the ethical standards of the country.

Various controversies have been linked to Conway as a result of her role as the senior counsellor to the president in the regime of President Trump. The practices include talking about the Bowling green massacre that never happened, using the phrase alternative facts in her address (Conway, 2017). She also claimed that Michael Flynn had full confidence in the president hours before his dismissal. Her controversies prove that she presented falsified statements to society. following the presentation of false information, Kellyanne denied the information by suggesting that the information presented was either correct, or referred to something else. Gavin, & Porter, (2014) elaborates on this subject, suggesting that there are various types of denials. these include hopping the truth is not real, the knowledge that something is true and hoping that no one else knows, and the knowledge that something is true and choosing not to think about it. As a result of the office that Kellyanne holds, the presentation of false information is highly dangerous and denotes her as a dangerous woman. the falsification of information and denying it presents Kellyanne to the society as significantly dangerous and untrustworthy.

In conclusion, the aspect of the dangerous woman is evident in various ways. While the general meaning would be a woman that exhibits violence and with the capacity to cause physical harm, it could also be in terms of the effects that it has, both on an individual and the society. With regards to Kellyanne, it is evident as she manages to overcome the social pressures that require a woman to be nurturing, soft, caring and perceive. She manages to reach significant career heights, including being the first woman to lead a successful presidential campaign and being the counsellor to the president. She is also involved in work controversies, including unethical practices and falsification of information that could lead to loss of trust in her and the work that she does. The controversies represent her as not been ethical in her work.
